It sort of works with some newer programs. On some it doesn't reset the trial date but it prompts you to enter a key. I usually find for the hidden "obviouses" in free trials, like if a window that says "Your trial has expired!" is blocking you from clicking in the main program window, you press Alt + F4 and it kills the blocking window and you can still use the trial when its past its date.

I used Regcleaner and I still have 7 days left, not 10.
