  • I LOVE SHOOTING THIS GUN :D

  • lmao I fucking love her

  • In the movie she just got laid.

  • that women is so sick

  • It's funny, Kevin Spacey is a huge Bobby Darin fan.

  • Thumbs up if you've played this song inside your car and driven around like a maniac singing it like Annette Bening!

  • o.o ...I deeply am scared of this woman...

  • A. Bening just LETS GO in this role, and when she's singing in the car, she nails that character. Give Annette Bening the Oscar for Best Actress, retroactive immediately! :) (did I use that word correctly in a sentence?)

  • How wonderfully this scene captures the sheer arrogance with which the American lifestyle destroys everything on its path! I love this movie!

  • @BNicodemo from the land of william shakespeare..........yawn

  • @arneperschel Is it not common that some people would be arrogant in the best nation in the world? America has the number one economy and because of that it branches out giving the people the opportunity to have the choice to do what they like. We may not be the happiest or the smartest, but the freedoms that we have gave us an edge over other countries. So yes, some people take the way they live over the edge, but that's the same in every country that isn't living hand to mouth. Think about it

  • Kevin Spacey starred in and directed a film on Bobby Darin called Beyond the Sea...

  • 1:14 is awesome.

  • I can't decide which is greater, the first 74 seconds of the video, or the last 5.

  • She's fuckin FANTASTiC!!! AWHOOOOOOHOOOOO!! ;)

  • "Whose car is that out front?"

"Mine. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. The car I've always wanted and now I have it. I RULE!"

  • Didn't Louis sing this onf Family Guy?

  • @katsoup00

    yes she did

  • 9 people had their parades rained on.

  • she was awesome in this.

  • Nobody has betterrrrrrr Rainnnnnnnnnn onnnn myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy paraadeeeeee- *stops in astonishment at new car in driveway*

    :P:P:P

  • I rule!

  • love this movie

  • this is a film that entertains and offer a life visoin very positive, anti drama par excellence. It evokes the simpilcité, the natural in our modern life, and the fact that at any moment you can take or resume his life, nothing is ever finished. This is an authentic film that makes us think about us a little cloud. I suggest you really see and review this movie.

  • i'm decepointed, she's got a voice so wird in french that it's funny, this one is not special at all ... =(

  • haha this is priceless

  • NOOOOBODYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    love her face there...

  • She was such a bitch. She had no right to be happy the way she acted.

  • @toby099 FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG ;)

  • Great scene in of the best moves ever!

  • She was robbed of that oscar!

  • annette bening was golden in this movie

  • Oh Carolyn Burnham. This is one of my favorite moments in the film.

  • I only felt bad for her. She tried her best to keep the family together.

The only character that was normal. Poor Carolyn, she deserves better.

  • I was traveling on the subway 1 day in toronto, i like to ppl watch. Along the way to my destination, this middle aged gentlemen dressed in casual jeans and shirt, got on.

There were plenty of seats but he chose to stand, and vibe to his music by dancing and singing.

I found his courage and relaxed attitude to be fascinating.

People were laughing at him and looking at him like he was a freak.

I was applauding him the whole time mentally and whenever someone sings, i always have a flashback.

  • @trg18 Haha, you get that here in NYC, too. Many people are so reserved on the subway, like it's a library or something. Sure you don't want someone being a nuisance, but what's so bad about someone singing to their own music? People these days are so uptight because of economic stress, but they need to learn to loosen up again like in the old days. ;)

  • what kind of gun is that?

  • @cherryboy561 Smith & Wesson 4006

  • I don't find this slow version of "Don't rain on my parade" anywhere. Can somebody help me out, I need that. :D

  • @Gh3tt0G4ng5t4z

    This slow version?

I guess this is Bobby Darin 8-)

  • yeah, I need that version too...xD

  • Yes, I know. But, all versions here on YT are live, I want to have exactly that version! :D

  • poor annette, she always loses against to hillary swank

  • apparently the director was going to cut this out but annette pushed for it to stay in...

    thank god! haha :)

  • then spacy came and rained all over her parade

  • hahahahahahaha

  • i love how this movie makes people think about roles of women and what is typical. everyone in the movie is basically fucked up. except maybe ricky fitts... hehe

  • i love annette benning!

  • love how the scene ends!!!

  • scoresby 33 knows the deal. Listen, this clip is clearly funny, the way she's singing to this tune, the gun on the seat. However it is not far off the mark on how many woman lead their lives. This man, Lester, was tired of being a doormat for this selfish, materialistic nut case. He simply showed her that he could act the same, and indulge in behavior that is more commonly seen in people in their early 20's.

  • She should have won an Oscar for this role!

  • Atleast she got a BAFTA which is like the British Oscars. :P

  • she did, u idiot

  • I think most married women have these private moments. In the car. Home doing housework with the music up loud.

We mostly don't act on the feeling, though.

  • Blimey! I'm Australian. Chill out mate. I've been married for over thirty years. Since rude people seldom apologise, I won't be expecting an apology from you. My remarks are about the clip, not the whole film. Besides, I'd have to say the Spacey character was a tragic Peter Pan type. They drive adult women insane with their complete inability to man-up.

P.S. Marriage is not a "fairy-tale", especially if the woman, like the Bening character, is stuck with a middle-aged irresponsible man-boy.

  • Wow, scoresby33, you have major issues, chill out dude. I like how you attack some random poster for not treating her husband with the "respect he deserves" and attack american women in a sweeping generalization (please explain what a wife should be for men like me who don't know). People will have different opinions than you, and, as a part of growing into a mature adult, you need to learn to deal with these issues in a way other than calling people idiots and throwing temper-tantrums.

  • So your wife (or husband) was a leader and left you because you're a douche.

    Q.E.D.

  • Lester is the adult?! Wow...really...is that why he's jerking off and fantasizing about his daughter's friend...this is a SAD movie with almost all of the characters being 'victims'---with the exception of Lester's daughter and her boyfriend...they are the only 'survivors'

  • I love this scene.

    btw very good movie.

  • You know. I don't know a helluva lot about Annette Benning besides her relationship to Warren Beatty but this movie put her on the map for me.

  • What does she say around the 0:43 second mark?

That line is supposed to be "And if I'm fanned out", right?

  • I've always thought that that line in the song was "And if I'm found out."

  • It looks like it's definitely 'fanned out'. ;p

  • It's found out.

  • No it isn't.

  • Why did you ask if you knew the answer? :s

  • The lyrics are "And if I'm fanned out, Your turn at bat, sir." The words "fanned out" in baseball mean "to strike out".

  • The lyrics are "fanned out" but it sounds like she says "found out." Maybe it's part of her character, getting the lyrics wrong. I mean, people do that in real life. God knows I've sung the wrong lyric to a song before thinking it was something else.

  • @bobbyfan64 Actually, it is "fanned out"

  • @bobbyfan64 she might have misconstrued the lyrics in the song purposefullly for her character in the movie

  • @ghstwrld Its at least i didnt fake it hat sir

  • "I rule!" -Lester Buhrnam

after he rains on Mrs. Buhrnam's parade.

  • and then spacey comes along and rains ALL OVER that bitches parade

  • oh my god, that's so funny. i just laughed out loud. you're a genius.

  • `hahaha

  • I love how they have the faux NJ plates, but this is totally Pasedena.

  • That's a really nice SUV, what brand is it? Never seen one before

  • benz

  • Mercedes-Benz ML-Class.

  • who cares

  • I LOVE this film!

  • @SEATTLEGRL1 You FAAAAAAAAAAAAG ;D

  • I would murder everyone commenting here for that firebird :-P

  • Lol I love to sing dont rain on my parade while I'm in the car too

  • love this sceen and this song! great movie!

  • I don't really relate to Annette Bening's character in the movie otherwise, but I really liked this scene of her singing along to a Bobby Darin song in the car because I do that all the time. As a HUGE Bobby Darin fan, I'm always playing his music at full volume in the car and singing along at the top of my lungs!lol

  • my mom acts just like this, all woman in there 40s act like this i swear

  • Hey! I'm in my early forties, wouldn't be caught dead driving an SUV, and will never, ever own music by Bobby Darrin. But I know MANY Carolyns, so I understand what you mean. Annette was brilliant in this role, as was Kevin. And no one knew it at the time, but Kevin is obsessed with Bobby's music-which makes the dinner scene even funnier. He even did a biopic on Bobby ('Beyond the Sea'), which was a flop. But this film? Pure genius. Mendes and Ball are gods. Perfect cast as well.

  • I love her, she's sooooooo hot...why doesn't she play in TLW:(

  • agreed, she is friggin' hot!!:O

uhh, pardon me, but what is TLW? :O

  • THL = The L word..

  • *TLW

  • oh. the L word. haha. thank you!:O

  • aww, my mate thought she was fit too, he's only 18 ;)
