  • Big mistake...never promise something...you don't know if something will go wrong and the customer will be even agrier. Offer an alternative in case it doesn't happen.

  • @Dollxhie So true!! Most of the rules that customers get upset about are made by corporate bigwigs who never have to deal with any of these customers that get angry about them. It is the low paid customer service associates, who have no authority, who have to take the brunt of them while the bigwigs sit in their cozy corporate offices for the most part.

  • I love how these videos show you how everything is happy in the end and everyone is a winner. Lmao. In real life customers demand a cash refund and get crazy when they don't get their way. They start cussing and saying things like "this is fucking rediculous!" and oh they never have their receipts

  • I agreed with all the advice in this video. However, it is a bit complicated. I just follow three rules when dealing with all customers.

    1) The customer is really Jesus Christ, and in reality....this is just a test.

    2) The customer is to be babied. You don't argue with babies! You do everything to try to make them happy.

    3) PAY ATTENTION to the customer. Forget your own needs and engross yourself in your customer's needs. 

    4) You don't need their respect! Who cares what they think of you?

  • It is sad when the example is preformed poorly, this man introduced himself as Paul and he continues to address this woman by her sir name, he does nothing to establish rapport. All this video is saying is that if I hire this training company all of may employees will have to suck it up if they are addressing an angry customer... sad employee need to take control. But the worst thing he does is to promise that they will be there on time if there not this woman would become Irate...

  • It's simple. I'm a supervisor and if they get edgy I just try to reason with. If they really kick off just refuse to help them. It's their fault they can't behave.

  • Why are all these customer service videos so poorly scripted? This crap only works in fantasy land. Real customers do not act like that, and if you try to get all sentimental with them they just snap back with "you being sorry doesn't help me." Actually dealing with them is easy, though. It's simply a matter of presenting them with all their options while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. Period.

  • @Toyomo16 - he looks so fake. It is like some 'spiel' all staff have to churn out. I like the idea of giving them various options but sometimes I can't think on my feet when they are being down your throat at 8am in the morning. I also find all this listening thing annoying - they will say 'well say something then!' They will say, 'You can't do anything', get your manager now'.
