I am one of his former student who was trained and taught by him ( Dr.Moses Powell, Little John Davis and Muhammad Shabazz) back in the early 70's while i was in the NOI (Nation Of Islam) He was out of new York but traveled to Hartford ,Ct. to open a Do-Jo there and teach the brothers in the Nation his true art form.I made it to the rank of 2nd degree black black . That training still carries over to my everyday life as far as discipline, character and humility. As-Salaam-Alaikum (Peace )
Dr. Moses Powell was in the second phase of the final call of the master series that predates any Federation and his proprietary intellectual creation of sanuces ryu ,.
Other professor Moses Powell Federation division of licensing and certification.
My Tour driver (Jiu-Jitsu) in the Bahamas reminded me of who Moses Powell is just yesterday.. I knew I recognized the name. Much respect to Mr.Powell and the driver who trained and spoke very well of him.

Professor Moses Powell was one of the best martial artists of all time! He was also was a man of high integrity that matched his martial arts skill. There will never be a man nor martial artist quite like the great Master Moses Powell
Dr. Powell was one of the best of all time. His legacy lives on in his students today around the world. A true Grand Master. He gave unselfishly!! Osh!!
He was truly 'one of a kind'. He revolutionized the way in which the western world understood and applied the art of jujitsu. His legacy will live on in his students who continue to improve and evolve. He brought to his students the freedom to explore and achieve their true potential.A true Grand Master is not judged only by what he does but by how he is remembered and the longevity of his contribution! Osh!!
