Doctrine, beliefs and faith should be able to withstand questioning and thorough study. We need to seek truth instead of defending what we've been taught as truth.
someone said the cults and isms were the church's unpaid bills.
let us not point the finger too hard at the emergent etc. instead letusask what was so barren and miserable about our orthodoxy that they could not bear it so fled it for error less subtle than our own .
are we so full of joy than no sane man would reject our religion? no? then we are hypocrites with nothing but dead letter to offer
that WE are so dead that they prefer heresy to God is something He will judge US for
If orthodox Christianity is "barren and miserable" to the 'emergent' then scripture might suggest why:
"the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
"For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life." ~ 2 Corinthians 2:15-16
New Age, Emergent, or Pharisaic and then authentically christian.
If we reject new age and emergent but are legalistic and loveless we are still pharisaic.
and pharisaic is all that I have seen in response to the manifest and terrible errors of the new age or the emergent.
let us remember they reject sound doctrine as WE do not believe sound doctrine and they look at our fruitlessness; and reject our professed doctrine rather than repent of not believing it
if you propagate the modern day "Rapture" philosophy then You are emergent also .
Yet, like most whom are stiffnecked and SELF righteous, think they are right about mixing the heretical philosophy with sound doctrines.
WOW, at 1:56, You need to own your own words there mister and realize your logic on the "Rapture" according to markell , hagie, lindsey, reagan etc is what has made you a liar. And do it for Filthy Lucre Gains.. Bette repent mister.
great teaching!! i know a church that is actually dangerous!! they re so into the "prosperity gospel" that they fleece people out of their money and use it to go gambling!! its absolutely disgusting and sad...
Amen Eric! I am upset about what certain denominations are doing. I have approached a pastor in this one particiular church that my wife and I went to, and the pastor told me to get out of his church. He told me that he didn't think it was his responsibility to preach the Word of God on Sundays, but that we are to be plugged into the Word on our own, and to small groups. I was shocked that this particular denomination tyuned me down that because I didn't know enough Theology, but knew the Bible!
I am thoroughly convinced that if Jesus were alive today, he would be so appalled at the Evangelicals and Fundamentalists for making God and himself (Jesus) so hateful and discriminatory as to be no more appealing to many than Satan, as well as the Wars, violence, and hatred born in the name of Christianity that he would demand to have Christianity dissolved in favor of the peace and harmony of Unitarian Universalism.
You deduced this from my one sentence comment did you? Or are you so incredibly full of yourself that such non sequiturs are the order of the day for you? Your comment that I responded to you was so amazing in its presumptuous and self centred arrogance that you simply asserted Jesus would say and do exactly what you say he would based on nothing at all but yourself and your own assertion of Unitarian Universalism. Your authority is yourself. So who is playing God here?
Reason? None given, except that you clearly hold your own opinion to be the preeminent authority.
In your original post you say "if Jesus were alive today". Didn't the Jesus of the New Testament rise from the dead? You don't explain how "Evangelicals and Fundamentalists" make this Jesus "hateful". And it seems you are unable to discern the difference between, "in the name of", and the Christianity which involves actually believing in and following the Christ of the Bible.
Oh so now we've gone from "Evangelicals and Fundamentalists" to "Evangelical-Fundamentalist religious extremists" now? Shifting the goal posts a bit aren't we? And what exactly do you define as such? And when you say this ill defined group that seems to be quickly morphing into something else before our eyes, don't follow the example of the Christ of the Bible, what exactly do you mean?
Isn't sad that this has been up since March and there are only 604 views! Sad in the sense that nobody want to know what it going on!....These 9:44 min, map out the plan of the enemy!
@Godpleaser77 Yes- but I did watch the series of this on another channel- the Bible does not speak of end times revival but apostacy and the time of Jacobs trouble in which 2/3rds of israel will perish. The church is leaving and He will come for Israel. The declining love of the truth I now believe is the sign of the very last days before he comes for us
Secondly, the dead sea scrolls ain't authentic as well !

First of all, the bible ain't authentic !
myrbl30 1 month ago
@myrbl30 The Dead Sea Scrolls would beg to differ. You are quite wrong, and the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls show that.

@Evangeliiss You can "believe" what you like, it's a free country.

there is a 4th option
New Age, Emergent, or Pharisaic and then authentically christian.
If we reject new age and emergent but are legalistic and loveless we are still pharisaic.

Well I'm grateful that the God of the Bible is not a God made in your own image.

It is the same God. We just do not agree as to the perception of that God. Also..., I follow God, you play God.
