a friend of my dad's had the album "Rumble Doll" and lent it to my Dad knowing that he and I were fans of the Boss. My Dad asked, "Is it any good?" to which came the reply, "Let's put it this way...if you like it you can keep it". She's great as a backup vocalist but that's where it stops. Let's face it, without the proper "connections," there's no way she get's a recording contract.

Patti has a unique voice that can be loved by some and hated by others. If she was just a coffee house singer, it would be fine. I can see how some might love her solo.

But she is useless with the E Street band. Her placement has become way too prominent on the stage after her marriage. I am sick of seeing her strumming her guitar without any energy and they might as well turn her mike off during concerts. When she goes get a solo during a Bruce concert, she sounds like a freaking alien.

I do not recall her once adding anything to the E Street sound with her ridiculous guitar playing during E Street concerts. She uses it as a prop. The comments here make you realize that this lady cannot win. In my opinion, she is a talent who stands on her own. Her voice makes you stand up and take notice and her songwriting is incredible. Songs like Spanish Dancer which she wrote about her feelings for Bruce brought tears to my eyes. It has to be difficult because if she succeeds on her own, she is accused of accomplishing everything because of her husband.
