In the event I lose my tap, I store 5 gallons dosed heavily with Sodium BiSulfate preservative (undrinkable) so I can store it indefinitely.

I plan to pump fresh water from it using my Katadyn Survivor then distill the rest.

Zinc will not evaporate below a temperature of about 907° C (1,664.6° F) you will never get stones that hot in a wood fire. Therefore the galvanized tub would be perfectly save to use.

first
