dont know where you got your info from about they only knowing one pattern only thats wrong. it dosent matter as the whole factory closed today with the loss of 800 jobs. sad

I have the audio of the guide saying "each cutter learns a single pattern, and only 3 people can cut that pattern -- one for each shift, plus a spare." that's verbatim what she said.
do you mean that WATERFORD shut down? no more waterford crystal??? DAMN! i'm glad i have a truckload of it already, then. guess it's worth a fortune now.

yeah its closed, workers are occuping the factory and keeping the furnaces going all for no pay. my father in law worked there for 35 years as a master cutter and he can cut many different patterns belive me. hang on to your waterford crystal it might appreciate in years to come . thats if it is genuine waterford crystal ,a lot of the stuff they sell is packaged as waterford crystal but is machine pressed and cut and made in eastern europe its only dirt,
