This is from the hard to find Factory Video I believe. Thanks for Posting. I was soo into JD in the day and still am but, I never appreciated the talent and genius of ACR. Yes they are more talented than JD but JD has that X-Factor that makes them special. This video kills me as it did 25+ yrs when I first saw it. I had to wait 12 yrs before I would hear it again. I was so impressed with the song. I search hard for anything ACR in hopes of finding this song.
Saw this lot many times in Manchester, way ahead of their time. In retrospect they were the best Factory band in my opinion with their mixture of Industrial Funk. I just love the 7" version of Knife Slits Water
It seems like ACR had two distinct sides to their music-the JD-style post-punk stuff like this, and the more funk-influenced stuff. I prefer the former, it catches my attention and holds it better.
still and always one of the best bands ever.. brillant and WAY ahead of their time.. loved them since "to each".. an incredible album that changed my life!
Yes indeed Radiohead as many others these days owe alot to the Factory days...I think ACR were way ahead of their time. No small wonder that Mike Pickering and Simon Topping ended up developing the Hacienda club , bringing real house music from Chicago, NY. Simon himself went to NY for a while to study Latin American purcussion. The album that this tune comes from is awesome..its the pinacle of thier 'sound'.
Btw I went to a show with them in "Saltlageret" in Copenhagen. It was shortly after they released the fantastic album "Sextet". But they didn't bring the girl singer, Martha Tilson. Wasn't there a story about this (for them unknown) girl spontaneously entered the stage at one of their earlier shows and started the singing? Or was that something I've dreamt?
Wow! ACR sure was way ahead of their time with this kind of music. Glad I still got the vinyl. Will go listen to it now, for the sound is awful here. Still, cool video.
I helped organizing a gig once for a youth center in Holland and OMD came around. They were devestated too that time, after the death of Curtis. They hardly could talk about anything else. Hardly affiliated with Joy Division in music style. Big event by then indeed.
Dr' it still is.Check out "Fila Brazillia" they have two videos here on youtube. Also check out their albums, i think there are 10 or 11 to choose from. For me it's "Mess" "power clown" "A touch of cloth" they all have touches of genuis.
This is a Band I've only Read About,As Far as I Know I've Not heard Them Before (Perhaps in a Mix at a Club, Back in The Day?).They Are Great,I can not Wait to Score some of their Recordings & Rack Em! Real Loud! Stands the Test of Time With Style & Grace!
where the hell did you get these from?? great.dream topping was a visionary.all those azimuth records he listened too warped into manc sub funk.thanks for sharing
still possesses this on video tape for obvious reasons.

Christ, Radiohead must have spent some time listening to ACR. Good idea. A very under-appreciated band in the States.

Fantastic.
Was this filmed shortly after Ian Curtis's death?
Simon looks absolutely devastated here - almost as if he's playing "Taps" for a fallen comrade.
(and before anyone says it - yes, I know Ian was never in ACR) :-)
