  • @alriguez LOL not even! i wear my hair nappy all the time. i wear it either "nappy" in a curly fro or in a ponytail or i can wear it straight or i can wear it in a weave. i love how our kinky hair has so much versatility

  • When you say look "good", you mean look more white.... White is the standard of beauty... So the more white you look, the more beautiful you look. The longer and straighter your hair is, the lighter your skin is, the more properly you pronounce your words, the better you feel about yourself... The more beautiful you feel... Can you deny it?

  • @timothyohara84 what are you talking about i'm against this type of thinking.

  • @pinkaddiction13 im not surprised... most people are sis.

  • Black Ladies..........Wake UP!!!!\

White women like that black women wear weave........they say that black women have bad hair and so they need to replace it.

isnt it common sense that if the white people agree with it that its not right.

  • @SuperMrSky ...... I REPEAT they agree cause they get weaves too!

  • @pinkaddiction13 go to this site hairextensions....com... nuff said!

  • @pinkaddiction13

Girl...what planet are you on...who cares if the get it. white people think that black hair is not good..........why dont you wake up from your long sleep and stop defending the ability to cover what god gave u with fake hair.

  • jus because we get weaves dont mean we hate ourselves its jus more manageable duh!!!

thank you girl for pointin that out and we do wanna look cute :)

  • Why dont you get a mask to cover your face. Then get abody suit for your body.

Why dont you love what god gave you and stop the fake crap.

    guys dont like it.

  • p.s. what is with the racism here folks geez?!?! Weave, extensions, tanning, fake nails..WHY should ya'll care! If you dont like it..IGNORE it! :) mMm.

  • @MsKatieSummers THANK YOU LOVELY! i'm so sick of it already!

i was gonna do a video addressing it all but i'm not gonna spend my time on idiots.

glad to see a smart person here!

  • Hey Im 100000% WHITE and I rocked extensions on my wedding day! MmmHmm. Dont listen to the haters. I think you a doll! :) I LOVE WEAVES! haha

  • Are you serious lady, you want to point out spelling errors :s Are you saying I should've said "you are natural hair"???? Because that's what you're means in long form. :s lol wowww Sad to be arguing and calling names. I was just giving you my honest opinion. Me personally, I just feel like your trying to cover up your natural hair. Like I said before not ENHANCING but COVERING UP. Please don't get offended, you put your video out there, you are going to get ppl with honest opinions.

  • @beyoncebrittany hey i'm not offended at all.

  • @beyoncebrittany

She responds that way cause she is insecure about who she is. White people have told her that her hair isnt good enough....she believes it.

  • Pinkaddiction: See the youtube search key? Type in the word 'weaves' then search the list. Nearly every single video on weaves are black women. So please stop the bullshit with saying all womn wear weaves. Very few white, asian, latina etc women wear weaves. VERY FEW. Sometimes they wear extensions but thats not really the same and again only sometimes. Black women wear weaves ON A REGULAR BASIS. They are ADDICTED to them. You know this is true so please stop with the excuses and lies.

  • @MyWendal omfg you JUST said "sometimes they wear extensions but thats not really the same and again only sometimes"

WOW you just admitted that they DO. extensions and weave are the same thing just a different freakin word!

  • @pinkaddiction13 OMFG U cant really be this stupid? Do U honestly not know the difference beteeen a weave and extension? Extensions- U simply add hair that already matches your real hair. Weave- U COVER UP (hide) your real hair completely. Look, you seem like a nice person and I'm not trying to be insulting but come on...it really seems like Ur just pulling bullshit out of your ass to win an arugment you can't win. Everything I have told you is 100% true and it seems you dont like the truth.

  • It a CHOICE! No one is trying to hide ANYTHING! Its an ENHANCEMENT! There is nothing wrohg with wearing it PERIOD! All those that try to down it , and say that women who wear it are trying to hide something are just people who need and want something to say. My hair is VERY long and I wear Braids and Weave. I do it because I like the styles and most importantly..because I CAN!

  • @yvonne122371 Black women wear weaves because their hair is kinky. Thats why most non-black women wear their real hair and only kinky haired black women are addicted to weaves. It's simple common sense. The fact that you are denying the very obvious only shows that you are ashamed of the truth. I'm sorry if the truth bothers you but it wont make it any less true. There are all sorts of ugly truths in the world and this is just one of many. But stop denying the truth.

  • @MyWendal Its NOT truth and you dont have a SPLIT so how do you know? Is it ok to say that you are ASSUMING these things b/c what you say is NOT a FACT! its what you THINK and since no one pays you to think, its better if you just be quiet! Also, another word for the unknowing..ALL black women hair is NOT kinky! and again, I wear weave because I CAN and it has nothing to do with KINK, it has to do with the fact that Im a woman with CHOICES!

  • @yvonne122371 U are in some serious denial. Question: Y would Chris Rock make a documentary on black women's kinky hair and their weaves? How come nobody's made a documentary on white women and their 'addiction to weaves'? Why are black ppl the only ones who say things like "good hair"? Why are black women the only women who use such terms as "going natural"? Non-black people dont even know what the fuck "going natural" means becuz they dont have kinky hair the way blacks do. Ur lying to urself.

  • @MyWendal WOW sweety! sorry but i gotta interfere. i know PLENTY of mexican and white girls who are crazy obsessed with weaves. more than people perceive black women to be. they cant leave the house without their clip in weaves

  • @pinkaddiction13 You might know a few, I'm not saying they dont exist. What I'm saying is, white, latina, asian, indian women generally dont wear weaves, they wear their own hair. They dont need weaves the way black women do because their hair is not kinky textured. Never in my life have i ever met anyone with a weave besides black women. Yes, some non-black women wear them but they are the exception, not the rule. Among black women, the weave has become the rule and the addiction.

  • @MyWendal ..who said that black women NEED weave? i know tons of black women who wear their own hair AND their hair is super long. so its not every black woman.

about the kinky thing what the hell is so wrong with kinky hair? why do you mention it as if its some sort of ailment or disease?lol is kinky hair some new handicap i didnt hear about?

once again you are wrong. lots of jewish women have hair just as kinky and nappy as ours. they get relaxers to hide it.latinas have nappy hair too.

  • @pinkaddiction13 I dont think theres anything wrong with black women's kinky hair. BLACK women seem to think there's something wrong with it cuz they keep hiding it with a weave. I wish more black women would wear their natural hair but you have to admit it's RARE to see a black women wear her natural hair these days. Instead its always weave or chemical relaxers (which is damaging sodium hydroxide). BW seem to think kinky hair is a disease. They are the ones who use terms such as 'good hair'.

  • @MyWendal like i said before. other races of women get perms and weaves too so its not like they're 100% natural.

especially since white women are going crazy with plastic surgery so what do you say to that? its definitely insecurity and hiding stuff if ur gonna get CUT OPEN to change who you are.

i kknowts theres no excuses but you act like black women are the ONLY people who wear weaves and its sad.

  • @pinkaddiction13 Pinkaddiction, listen carefully. U would have to be an absolute RETARD not to see that BW are the only ones who are addicted to weaves. I dont believe that you are that stupid or blind. I think ur just seriously in denial. Black women tell themselves "all women wear weaves" because deep down they know they are the only ones who wear them on a regular basis but are ashamed to admit that. The more you say blantant/obvious lies like that, the more shameful you make yourself look.

  • @pinkaddiction13 We're not talking about plastic surgery. I dont know that white women have that anymore than any other race but one thing i DO see on a regular basis are black women wearing OBVIOUS WEAVES on their heads. Weaves look fake on a black woman because indian hair (which is what weave is) does not look natural on a black woman. As far as getting perms go, black women are the only ones who get chemical relaxers with sodium hydroxide which can actually make ur hair fall out.

  • @MyWendal the ONLY ones who get chemical relaxers with sodium hydroxide?

oh please. why do you go OUT OF YOUR WAY to make black women seem so low? you mean to tell me that black women are the only ones who get perms that make their hair fall out? really? seriously?

i'm done. your points are pretty much void because you no longer make sense. WOW... just...WOW.

  • @pinkaddiction13 Yes, IDIOT. Black women are the ONLY ONES WHO USE SODIUM HYDROXIDE IN THEIR HAIR TO MAKE IT STRAIGHT. Other races of women get perms but they dont use "the cream crack" which is sodium hydroxide. Wow, you must be really ashamed of your weave and black womens hair in general because you are saying some really stupid shit. As a black woman, you cant be that ignorant of such basic information. Or are you really that fucking dumb? I dont know, but you're acting a damn fool right now

  • @pinkaddiction13 Jewish, latina women can have very curly hair but its not tightly coiled kinky, afro-textured hair. Kinky hair is a distinct genetic african trait which no other race has. You are a black woman, surely you know the difference between a white girl with very curly hair and typical african kinky hair. My brother (who's white) has very curly hair, but it in no way compares to kinky hair. Understand?

  • @MyWendal and before you say so NO i dont mean black latinas. i'm talking about the non black latinas. my boyfriend is 100% mexican FROM mexico and his hair is nappy.lol there are a lot of latinas at my job who have very kinky super curly/coily hair.

  • Girl your wack! Hair isnt a accessory.

  • @SuperMrSky my friend i think you may be even more"wack" due to the fact that you misused the word "your" LOL

    its "you're" try again : )

and yes it is!!! hair has been used as an interchangeable accessory since the egyptian days. also, in victorian times they used wigs to go with outfits and to show social status.

  • let me explain something to u clowns. black woman hair breaks out too. so sumtimes to give your hair a break from styling & chemicals we might put a weave n to protect our hair. y do u care anyway?

  • Sorry but I really think that a weave it REPLACING your natural hair and the way it naturally looks. Which means trying to cover up something natural about yourself.

Earrings is ADDING to ENHANCE to natural beauty. (Not replacing and COVERING UP).

Just like when white ppl go tanning they tan to cover up their natural skin color.

But eh I guess we all want to cover up something then?

  • @beyoncebrittany well,do you say the same about a cancer patient or someone with alopecia?

  • It's obvious you can't grow it

  • ...... really?lol

  • @gladrock

black women can grow long hair, im 100% black african and i grew my hair a few years ago up to 5 inches away from my butt

  • @CaligirlSofia thank you miss! prove these idiots wrong!

  • Sorry girl but I like it nappy and natural. I guess I can get away with saying that b/c the hair is also long. When I stretch (not press) it out with a hot comb it's half way down my back. When it's washed it's a big thick floppy afro. It is sometimes difficult to deal with but this is where patience comes in.

  • yeah for me thats the only issure. and its a stupid issue. you should love your natural hair whether its long or short. but i feel like i wanna grow my hair out longer so it'll look prettier when my hair is natural.

    longer hair just fits me

  • weaves are stupid. a real man would not date or marry a women with a weave. young girls who wear weaves are only setting themselves up for disappointment and practicing bad habits. i'm not with that 'it's an accessory' stuff. you are what you wear plain and simple.

  • a real man wouldnt care about whats on his woman's head! as long as she looks good right?

will you say the same thing about a woman who wears makeup? all women wear makeup is that practicing bad habits too?

but like i said earlier its not only an "Accessory" some women use it as a protective style

  • weaves, makeup. its not all about looking good. why do you think so many black women single?

b/c men don't take em seriously...

what do you mean 'protective style'?

  • no. many black women are single because people believe all the stereotypes without even meeting or getting to know a person. or they meet one ghetto trashy broad and assume every black woman is like that.

protective styling is when you dont mess with your hair. you keep the ends of your hair protected from the air which is acrtually harmful to afro textured hair. you still didnt respond to what i said about makeup....

  • there's some truth to that, but weave=insecurity. it takes courage, love and esteem to say 'fuck what everybody thinks. i know this is right and i'm gonna stick with it because something better is waiting for me on the otherside.' that's what i mean. if you let your natural hair grow and preserve a healthy diet, your hair will grow and become beautiful.

make up is fly when worn well. but its not meant to be everyday wear. occasionally only.

don't follow tv. it will lead you astray..

  • so the white, hispanic, and asian women who wear weaves are insecure too right?

i know what you're trying to say. and i HAVE been growing out my hair. its going to grow healthy and long to the point where i wont ever need weave again unless i want it. i dont NEED it now.

  • YES!!

  • I wear weave and men take me very seriously because I'm a no nonsense woman..and I find plenty of good men real men that are interested in me despite the fact that I wear weave..and black women are single because most of them don't know how to make healthy relationship choices and don't know how to find or keep a good man. for some women weave is an accessory for me its a necessity because my hair is very fragile and I can't use perms and flat irons on my hair because it will break off

  • @ambi101 thats not just BLACK WOMEN its women in general who find it hard to get a good man. ever seen sex and the city? EXACTLY!

  • @pinkaddiction13 lol thats true

  • @ambi101 lol them lonely desperate heffas! *eye roll* lol

  • and you look great

  • I agree

  • the only thing about weaves is dont fight wearing them hahaha. they always come off!

  • her shit lood natural as hell you cant even tell she got a weave in the back.

  • i kno right? it looks real good

  • aww thanks you guys!!!

  • right!!lol haha but i dont right im a good girl : )

  • aaaah u are are u? well u must be if u take ur weave off to fight lol haha.

  • lol whatt!?!?lol

  • I LOVE WEAVE TOO lol thank you sista thats what iv been tryin to tell these dudes all along

  • no problem

  • Do what you do, but ain't nothin like THE REAL THING!!!!!!!!

  • right!!! thats so true. also when you wear YOUR hair you dont have to worry about if it blends in or if its coming apart or anything.

  • By why don't many black women wear our natural hair?

  • different reasons.some people find it very time consuming and difficult to do their own hair everyday if it was natural because our hair requires sooo much care.

some women just like weaves. it depends no who you ask

  • But did you know 3/4 of black women experience hair loss? It seems like a large price to pay for "convince"

  • Your weave looks like my real hair!Get it Girl!:D

  • thats how its supposed to look! but sadly some people dont do it right. SMH

    but thank you!

  • lol.Yeah I hate when people go to other people's houses to get their hair done because sometimes they come out looking bad when they paid all that money.lol.

  • I agree with you. I can't get one anymore..lol.. but do what you gotta do to make yourself happy.

  • silkier textured hair...the hair that is least like their natural hair texture....now dont get me wrong this is not all women...but alot of women...hair manufacturers(usually asians) are gonna make what sells....which is usually the silkier textured european textured hair...for example...REMY..which is like 100dollars and up....ridiculous...

  • EXACTLY glam!!!

i REALLY REALLY wish i could find a weaved texture that is close to my hair. you know kinda like how teyana taylor's hair is? (thats not her hair btw its a weave and a VERY good one at that)

but like you said they dont make hair with afro textures. they only have the european wavy mess.lol not that theres anything wrong with it its just that for afro textured hair it looks obvious and fake.

  • I feel as though asians dont make alot of weave with natural black girl texture because they think black girls dont have naturally long coarse hair. ALSO, they dont make what wont sell. I found some straightt weave that was very cheap and it blended perfectly with hot combed hair...you know how hot comp hair is straight but not permed straight so it was perfect for african american hair. the company stopped making it bc it did not sell..bc whether you belive it or not many women want the ...

  • I dont think there is a problem with weave. I think what guys dont like most about weave is when there is a drastic change in texture. Like one hair stylist said "kunta meets becky" I know this is a terrible thing to say, but if you have weave get a texture that matches your hair. dont have kinky course hair on the top with silky ,limp, hair on the bottom.

  • It's funny how the only hate i ever get about my locs is from other blacks, namely in my immediate family. In Trinidad the rastas weren't the best of people back in the 50's and my parents can't let go of that. Or perhaps people of other races are *scared to offend me? But they are the ones, in the street, asking to touch my hair, to wear it out instead of back in a ponytail. I wont even begin about the white woman and their compliments when i was living in Dominican Republic.

  • true. i know a lot of people who are like " wow your hair is cool!" or " you should wear your hair in a fro more often its so pretty"

but for some STRANGE reason. people who have the same hair i do (black people) say things like " ew you need to press that out" or " omg you need a comb" or " that nappy mess isnt cute"

    how odd?

  • Right, aint nuthin wrong with weave...just because you wear it dont mean u tryna look more white or you're self hating lol. People wanna talk about how bad gettin weaves and perms are but they hardly say anything about ppl that get lip injections and boob and butt implants...its just hair!

  • EXACTLY my point! like i said i see it as an accessory a way to change up your style temporarily. unlike having fake breasts and lips which are permanent and nasty!

  • I guess it comes from the fact most black men haven't seen a woman of another race with a "Curly" or "Coarse" hair weaved in. I myself don't care either way but i do listen to the lady to see what comes out here mouth regarding her hair. I have heard "I hate my nappy hair, i wish i had white hair" and so at a young age i too associated waeves with being white. I mean, at the time, i heard it right from the source

  • well that makes sense. another thing is that black men dont have to deal with their hair the way women do. hell you guys could have it hanging out all over the place and its no big deal.

i do admit that its hard to feel beautiful when my hair isnt weaved up or straightened out. especially when its constantly shoved down our throats that only long straight hair is beautiful.

  • Sista you are beautiful without the weaves and other "accessories" as you put it. I ask you this do you think that you look ugly without them?

  • i dont feel ugly. i just feel weird cause i was used to one look/length and now i have to get used to another.

  • I have to agree with yu on this clip yu made. There is absolutely nothin' wrong with wearing weave. All women of different races wear them. So y are black women the main target? Damn, worry about all the other important things in life besides WTF i got in my head & the self-hatred thing, in that case every race must be hating themselves 'cause every race wear weave.

  • yeah I agree with you now. It's definetly a choice that I cant take away from you. Natural hair women look gorgeous, women with weaves look gorgeous, women with relaxed hair look gorgeous... point being, it's hair and we really shouldn't fight about it. It's the 21st cent and everyone changes something about themself some way or another...

  • THANK YOU!!! omg why didnt anybody pay attention to that song "i am not my hair"???

  • thank you!! the sad thing is that other races of women have HORRIBLE HORRIBLE jacked up weaves yet they STILL dont get persecuted by it like black women do.SMH now THAT needs to be addressedlol

  • Amen!!

  • point blank!! an accessory!!

i have very long hair, i wear colored weaves just bcos i dont want to dye my hair. i am not ashamed of myself or my race. i think everybody on the planet can tell i am mixed race (black/hispanic). i am not ashamed of anything, just like u wouldnt wear the same pair of earings ALL your life, i change my hairdo sometimes. people need to stop trying to be so self righteous (oh im blacker and prouder bcos im natural). bull.

  • exactly your hair shouldnt make you and more or less "black" or whatever race you are.

some people are too caught up in their head (no pun intended) to realize that people do things for certain reasons. and hating myself is NOT one of those.

i gave my reason for liking weaves.

  • What kind of hair is that

  • i forgot when i made this video.lol it might be indian hair though. i had a couple if indian hair tracks sewn in. i wa SCARED that it wouldnt match my texture. cuase it obviously didnt. but my hairstylist did his magic and there you have it : )

  • Don't sell your natural hair short!

  • lol oh Winston I wish I was that cool.. it's braids, a replica of natural hair... i'm what you call transitioning to natural hair. The locs are coming in... maybe then you can run your fingers through my hair - hahaha- I know I will.

  • We need more white people like you. Please say the truth to these blind women that believe weave enhances their looks.

Now i'm a black woman and I know, trust me I know, not all black women wear weave... but the bunch that do are in denial and they don't usually wear it to match their hair, which is sad. I just wish black women would embrace their nature.

  • Lady, why can't you do stuff with your real hair. The weave looks fake... the world knows and sees this. 8/10 black women wear weaves, and weaves that don't at least match the texture of their hair. It's a sad thing that you can't see this yourself. Theres so much you could do with your natural hair that would make your hair grow faster... instead you make excuses. It sure is sad.

  • i DO wear my natural hair. i havent done a video in quite a while but i've been using my real hair for months now. i dont wear weave anymore cause they're boring.

i guess its not a bad thing with weaves cause you say 8/10 black women wear it. and well 99% of hollywood wear them too.. yes im talking ALL of hollywood not just black women.. also surprisingly even some mean wear weaves.. i kid you not!lol

  • Comment removed

  • you are very right

  • lol oh no no no i never thought you were an asshole at all. i enjoyed our debate : ) (im practicing for debate tournaments aha)

but yeah its just options hun thats all. well let me say that thats how i PERSONALLY feel. i like to change my hair style every couple of months.weaves is one of them. one benefit to them is that if you are trying to grow out your hair or give it a break it from heat makes for an EXCELLENT protective style. but not when its constant use then you're neglecting the hair.

  • thanks. but do you KINDA see where im getting at though? it just frustrates me when people point fingers at black women and say we hate ourselves all because of hair. i looked up the history of weaves and hair extensions last night and they originated in egypt and then got to asia. people have covered their hair for centuries. has nothing to do with hating yourself its strictly for fashion. that was my point. in the black community its our culture to add extensions for fashion.

  • theres people of other races that outright SAY "i hate my curly/straight hair!" and they get chemical things done to their hair cause they actually SAY that they hate it. for us its just a part of our culture to change up our hairstyle with braids,or weaves, or a fro. we should be proud that we can do soo much with our hair! i know i am!

in fact im gonna research some cute natural styles cause im sick of straight hair for now.plus i wanna keep the heat off my hair

  • actually you're wrong. i actually know like 3 black people whose hair naturally grew out of their head straight. they werent mixed their hair just came out that way.

black people are very diverse in hair texture as well as skin tone.i bet you didnt know that weaves were actually created FOR white women though.

  • lol but the majority of people who wear them are black. And the blacks you must know are most likely east african or they come from a mixed family. You're in denial.

  • actually you'd be surprised at how many white women have weaves. paris hilton AND jessica simpson came out with a line of hair extensions. also katie holmes had short hair forever and then today they found her with long hair. hmmm i wonder why?

did you think my hair was a weave before you knew it was? i do my hair right. i MAKE SURE it looks good.cause hell i've seen other races of women with TERRIBLE weaves. and yes you can tell it wasnt their hair.

  • they look like clowns but would you consider that self hate also? and you never did answer my question about the curly hair.

what about when people hate their bodies or their faces and get plastic surgery?thats more self hating than anything in this world and you're calling a devlish weave self hate PLEASE!! why not condemn paris hilton as well. she constantly has a weave. her hair is very short. its to her chin. she ALWAYS has a weave.

  • seriously? you can style your hair. obviously you cannot with your arms and other body parts. people can do so much with their hair. they can curl it,straighten it,dye it,cut it,weave it,twist it,lock it. so many infinite ways to do your hair.

since you see it as self hate then is it the same thing when a hispanic woman with extremely curly hair cant be seen in public without straightening their hair? or what about women who cake on makeup and cant be seen without it? answer that.

  • my problem straight /wavy weaves from white and asian women don't look good at all on the bone structure of black faces. most of the time they look really hideous/fake! and the truth is most ppl who wear weaves hate their natural hair and wouldn't be caught dead with a cute fro or their "nappy" edges showing. we were born with our hair for a reason!! examine why black women feel the need to cover/hide their true hair texture in the first place...

  • thats true a lot look REALLY fake and i HATE HATE HATE those curly weaves.lol

in our society it is socially unacceptable to wear our hair natural. i mean even back in the 70s when everyone wore afros. the afro symbolized rebellion from society's standards. i dont know what happened after that.lol

  • u are absolutely right, white women can wear weaves and extensions all day every day and it okay and never get flack but in 2009 black woman get questioned about our lack of blackness all because we wont wear our hair naturally and not even with the help of a relaxer or pressing comb. Not everybody can wear natural hair especially if you live in the south wear it is hot as you know what and that hair keeps heat like you will not believe, im wearing a weave and dont care what anyone thinks...

  • if anything i've seen some Fcked up weaves on asians, hispanics and caucasian girls. where its OBVIOUSLY a weave but nobody ever criticizes them or talks bad about them.

a black women could have nice looking extensions but people will constantly get on her about it.

  • thats not true men talking about an fake women no matter what race...they races you stated dont always wear weave but pile make up on until the look like someone else...that aint cool either.

  • dont get offended im just asking questions and making observations

  • why yall keep buyin asian and indian hairs...they dont match textures....only if a fresh perm is there...week 2 it's mismatched again. Black hair actually matches a YAK or HORSE. I can spot a weave a mile or away. Oh yea stop wearing the plastic hair too..IT STANKS. IF you need help growing hair just ask me.

  • um. good sir... people stopped using horse hair like a century ago... educate yourself : )

  • what im saying the textures of the weave dont match. Atleast try to make it look real. The plastic wigs and super straight hair looks foolish. It looks like a clown dressing up with all the makeup, hair and crzy clothes. dont get offended just an observation from a male.

  • well then you're probably unfortunately surrounded by females who dont know how to do a weave right. thats the only problem

  • it's not about education...if anything blackwomen need to look in the mirror at their weaves...the silky textures dont match! I only said horse because the tails have a more coarse texture.

  • eh why cant blackwomen buy weave hair from a blackwoman's hair? Is it because they dont cut their hair or it costs more? I would think they would be the BEST match for a black weave.

  • I tihnk weaves look great on Black women. Black women look good with so many different hairstyles, it's beautiful.

You're really beautiful too, don't let haters get you down.

  • NOOOOOOOOOO once they sweat the hair frizzy and smell like a plastic trashcan. They need to the salon more often to grow hair. STOP THAT AT HOME MESS. IT DONT WORK for all.

  • u look really pretty

  • why thank you hun

  • i love weaves!!! i wear them 24-7 u never catch me without them and they look natural... i have to CONVINCE people that my hair is fake... lol

  • YES! thats how it is with my hair when i get weaves. people keep saying weaves look bad and fake. but thats only if you have a bad stylist who doenst know what they're doing.

they CAN look extremely natural and no not just on white hispanic and asian people. this lady asked me if i was mixed cause of my weave. when i told her "no ma'am its extensions" she was like " THATS IMPOSSIBLE" and i gave her the number to my stylist. aha

  • did you like that she asked if you were mixed?

  • uhhhh no. actually i find it sad that folks feel as if black women cant have long hair unless they're mixed. i know a black girl not mixed with anything and her hair is literally to her waist. its cause her mom is a hair stylist and knows how to care for her hair properly.

  • ok yes more black women wear weaves but im just letting you know tht we arent the only ones. nearly every female celebrity wears a weave. and they change it up ALL THE TIME and nobody even mentions that. like i said before paris hilton. one day her hair is short, its long the next day. BRITNEY SPEARS! her hair was SHAVED and the next day it was long with a jacked up weave.again nobody said anything.

if it had been a black woman changing their hair so rapidly like that ppl would have a field day

  • i agree with that when it doesnt look like their natural hair

  • how can a weave look natural if 90% of the time the black woman has chosen a STRAIGHT white/asian texture weave, instead of a curly afro one? one that is basically similar to her own natural hair.....ppl know its a weave because black ppl's hair does NOT naturally grow like white/asian hair, it is course/curly.....

  • actually some people's hair closely matches it when its PRESSED OUT. for some people it matches better when its chemically straightened.

but chemicals are baaad. i have no relaxers in my hair EVER and mine matches the INDIAN HAIR weaves. and those are super super fine and textured

  • ....but thats when its pressed out, im talking completely NATURAL...and you said in your vid that you wear weaves to ''look good'', but don't you think you look good with your NATURAL hair? i think its good that you dont use relaxer, i dont either, i like to go COMPLETELY natural. I wont even go to black hair stores to buy products, i use natural stuff on my hair and my hair is beautiful and long because of it (my grandmother is mix, she has straight hair) but my hair is like a floppy, long afro

  • well natural hair doesnt look good on EVERYBODY. some people can look nice with afros and bantu knots and twist outs. im one of those people who dont look good with those hair styles.

i tried wearing my hair natural and it didnt really work out. my hair was just getting more damaged than ever cause i had to put product in it in order to look decent. and i hate using that am pro gel or mousse and things like that.

  • maybe you might not feel confident with your natural hair cause you feel it is too short?...trust me i was like that when i was younger, cause my mom always used to put extensions in it, then one day i just thought ''fuck it, im going natural'' when i was about 18...at first it took alot of getting used to, but now its cool, and its funny cause i get more compliments now with my natural hair than b4, plus i have saved ALOT of money...

  • yeah. my fros dont look cute cause my hair isnt long enough for a pretty one (funny how that is)

one thing thats disturbing about black hair shops is that it seems like they constantly emphasize the european standard.

i went to the fashion fair counter at the mall and behind the glass was at least 160 boxes of skin bleach..... why? why do we have to bleach out skin?i thought it was really kinda sad.

  • its true, every black shop ive been to (even in indian shops) ive seen skin lighteners!....its like ppl of color,or shall i say the manufacturers that supply goods 4 ppl of color, feel that ethnic ppl should be lighter...THAT IS BRAINWASHING!!!.the same goes with hair.i hope u realize that they are conning us out of our money like i did, back then i tried to find every black hair product that would make my hair grow, but to no avail!..now(without products) my hair is more beautiful than ever!!

  • yes. im going to do a video about this as well. i think its sooo ironic how every ethnicity group is trying to make their skin whiter/lighter, and meanwhile white people are giving themselves skin cancer laying under a tanning bed or in the sun.

  • ...another thing, in black hair shops, practically ALL the hair products that r sold are made from chemicals, none of it is natural stuff, besides its not even black ppl that are making the products, its most likely caucasians or asians, and what the hell would they know about taking care of black ppl's hair????..they just wanna make a fast buck out of us!!!! but i am glad i have come to my senses....natural oils r waaay cheaper and make your hair grow longer and stronger..no lie!!

  • yeah i dont like that either!!! they should AT LEAST have something not filled with monodextryblahblah blah and other things people cant pronounce!lol

  • ..the thing that annoys me though is when ppl like me wear their hair out in an afro, black ppl stare as if it is wrong to wear your natural god-given hair!!!!...its sad because whether they like to admit it or not black ppl have been conditioned to think straight/wavy hair is somehow better than afro hair...i cannot count the amount of times black women that have been fascinated by the length of my hair have come up to me and said ''why dont you straighten your hair?'' I think thats really sad

  • lol i wear weave when i want to change it up too. people have the assumption that weave= straight, silky, longer hair. my weaves are textured like my natural hair, my lenght, but they are a different color than my hair. it's just an alternative to dying my hair red or purple or whatever. lol. nyce video.

  • i've always wanted my hair purple!! or at least a little bit.

i never really thought about the texturized weaves!! i cant find one that matches my texture though. mine is kinda weird. aha

  • nice hair

  • Also, you can't really compare a celebrity women to an everyday women because most people expect celebrities to always look there best 24hrs a day 7 days a week. It doesn't really make a strong arugment comparing Paris Hilton or any other female celebrity to a common blk women.

  • Where do did you get horrible different species of human from? The fact is that the majority of black women who get weaves think that they are some how improving there look when most men look down on the weave I mean I see it as deceitful and don't really date women with fake hair. And we have all seen the most unattractive blk women where a weave or wig and think some how they magically look good with false imitation white hair. Flicking it as if it is really there hair.

  • i said that because you exclusively put down black women over weaves as if no other race does it. when they do.

i have a question for you. do you feel the same way about breast implants and other plastic surgeries? thats is also false imitation and being treated as real. and white women do that more than weaves.

    ??

  • Black women who wear weaves DO NOT want to be white, however, most Black women are brainwashed to feel like straight hair is better and prettier. THIS IS A PROBLEM and Im tired of hearing "white women do it too"! The majority of white women do not go out and buy kinky afro weaves. Too many black women think a weave is a good way of enhancing when it's not. Black is beautiful.

Question: Do you love your God-given hair as much as you love those tracks?

  • actually yes i DO love my god given hair that has NOTHING to do with anything. i never said i hated it i never said i hated myself.

seriously? "white women do it too" its TRUE the only thing is that you cant tell that its not their hair.same with black women if its done right like mine.

again women with curly hair often straighten their hair is that not self hate as well? the way you say it is? what about women with straight hair who want it curly? hmmm

  • My point is that MOST BLACK WOMEN hate thier natural texture which is why they perm and weave ON A REGULAR BASIS. If you aren't one of those women...then great, but don't deny the fact that it's prevelent in the community.

Also, when I see a club full of white women wearing afro weaves then I'll say that your point is valid. There is a whole history behind Black hair that other races DON'T HAVE. I am a black women and not focusing on white women's issues. There are white women for that.

  • aha let me get in this convo

let me tell yu something white woman hair is not perfect yuu cant do shit with that its stringy and juss plain messed up yu cant braid it unless yuu put some hard ass gell in thier hair than it will stay but they hair is not all goody goody........a weave is a weave o well its 2009 its old news...i agree i love weavs and no its not because i dont like the texture r i dont like the length because mah shizzle is pretty tizzle.....lol.....aha

  • THANK YOU!! somebody finally gets me.lol

they're trying to say that i wanna be white for wearing a weave!! LMFAO no no no its an accessory to me just like earrings just something to enhance your look. obviously these people dont get it.lol

  • its usually indian hair not european hair that bw use anyway coz indan hair is stronger and closer to our own hair texture (if relaxed)

so if anything we are trying to look indian lol!

  • lol.....brilliant comment!!..its a international problem, and black women are in denial about it...please check out my video on black hair and white supremacy when you get a chance.....peace;-)

  • ok, i can see what your saying, but stop with the white women bull! white women wear straight weaves, they have natural straight hair, even when they have curly hair it's nothing like natural AFRO 4a/4b hair so stop trying to put them in comparison! i mean have you ever seen a white girl with 4a/4b hair?

I see alot of blk women with sraight hair and it looks so wrong on some of them, they look like men in wigs! and im a black woman too!

  • i couldnt have said it better..;-)

  • also men's hair actually grows faster than women's hair. mainly cause men do pretty much nothing to their hair. and its socially acceptable for a man to have his hair all messed up due to not doing anything to his hair. it is not required for men to have decent hairstyles ALL the time.therefore = less maintainance= healthier, less touched hair= less breakage : ) see what i mean?

  • Messed up! girl THINK! Black women make it socially unaccetable to wear "messed up hair".

Maybe if we wore our natural hair more often it would be "socially acceptable". It's what you make it! if no one wants to socially accept you because of your natural hair, then Fuck them! that's discrimination!

  • well that too. and then wonder why their hair isnt tooo long. but thats because we mess with our hair too much. its socially acceptable for a ,man to wlak around with a messy afro and they hardly touch their hair. thats why black men's hair appears longer than some black women.

i wear my hair in braids to give it a rest : )

  • But mostly for black women weather there light skinned, dark skinned, or obese. It's mostly do to the fact that they want long hair and they believe that there hair cannot grow which isn't ture because with less than a 1 my hair was longer than the majority of black girls in my HS when I had long hair and I am a black male. I had cornrows from the summer time to like december or end of november and than permed it and my hair still grew the year later before I cut it in agaust.

  • I never understand why black people(mostly the women)always try to compare themselves to other races of people. It's usually with something negative too, not that weaves are negative but I just feel there are different reasons why white and other races have and weaves which is a very low percent compared to majority of black women who have weaves from the attractive, to the dark ones, to the obese black women who do it as well.
