@julisvega34 hi. I found the avocado oil at the grocery store. alternatively u can get it online. eg. iherb.com. just google it to find online stores.
@lessybieber My hair isn't "really oily," but it is somewhat oily. I have used this and it doesn't make your hair gross and oily, it makes it feel smoother and stronger =]
once a week if really needed, but once a month can also work. It varies on the oils and the amount you use but if you only use olive oil (about a tablespoon) you can use it about once a week. :)
Just a tip, you can also shave your head to get stronger, healthier hair (though it is a sacrifice). I'm Indian and in my family it's a tradition to shave the babies head so they can get strong and healthy hair. Then if you shave your head a couple of times it will be even stronger. So that's just a tip, hope it helped.
@DarkAngelHair Oil treatments are like any! If you hair is really dry, the once a week. If it's not that dry, maybe once every month. Luckily, it's suppose to make your hair really nice and silky as time goes by, so it's up to you to see how soft you hair is. Only you know when it's right to use it often or not! :)
@DarkAngelHair If your hair is really damaged, then treat it once a week. If you're just doing maintenance, do it once every other week (at least, that's what I do). Also, I find that putting just 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of honey in a sandwich bag (I don't have avocado or almond oil) then heating the bag in boiling water works well, too. Plus, you don't have to store it and you can cut a corner of the bag so it's like a pastry bag. It's easier if have short hair like me.
@Ketprasit at the most, once a week. your hair may become very greasy if you do it more than that. i usually do this treatment once a month and i have long, thick, brown hair.
I agree with you :) but heres a fact for you though blonde haired people ( like krista) their is naturally very thin I read it somewhere but they ually have alot of it so she's got fine hair but alot of it
@heemanbmusic you can never get rid of split ends unless you cut your hair. doing treatments like this only disguise it or prevent it from happening as often. no matter what the shampoo companies tell you.
The thing is, I apply the oil treatment before even soaking my hair and before I even shampoo it. Does anyone recommend me doing this after I shampoo or does it really matter?
Please reply back! I would love to hear your opinion :)
Just a suggestion i don't think u needed that much oil for even ur length of hair and dipping it into a bowl u should instead use an applicator bottle.
hot oil treatment, shampoo , dc, etc. So then u can use the hot oil on ur scalp and roots and when u shampoo it it doesnt weigh ur hair done, that's what they are made for :)
Before you apply the treatment do you shampoo and condition your hair or only shampoo? I am very keen to try out this mask because i have terrrribe hair!
@ShizukaNatasha What brand do you buy? and where do you purchase them? I know that not all brands are good when buying vitamins or supplements. Thanks!
@princessae2004 I have Prenatal Vitamins - well that's all it says on it, but I got it from Walgreens. The bottle is black with a white cap, and it says Prenatal in white letter with the picture of a mom and child in blue and purple on the label. Hope that description helps :)
I love the hair health tutorials!! I really like videos like these that explain WHY something is a good method. I've seen a lot of people talk about hot oil, but nobody really goes into why it's better than just plain oil. I usually do my oil masks in the bathroom so I'm too lazy to heat them, but I wear them for at least an hour. Do you think it makes a really big difference to heat the oil?
@Schmaiden1 yes it makes a huge difference. the heat opens the cuticles and allows your hair to absorb the oil way better, if your hair is just room temperature, your cuticle is closed, so the oil just sits on the surface of your hair, not doing anything really.
@ClooConstance You could..but you're hardly going to get the result you're looking for. The idea of using all three of those oils is to get to every layer in the strand of hair. Olive oil (correct me if I'm wrong) will only take care the surface of the strand. But don't take my word for it...by all means, try it. What's the worse that can happen?
@ProjectNerdHerd It's okay to do this without avocado oil and only the other two oils. Your hair will still be beautiful if you only use those two oils.
Is there something else I can use instead of Avocado oil or can I do this without avocado oil? I'm allergic to avocados =( and cannot use anything with atrificial avocados either.
Krista is so talented. I really wish she didn't get known because of Michelle Phan, because now she'll always be compared to her. Same with Promise Phan. They both deserve their own recognition because of their talent, not because of some other Youtuber.
@koreandramafanatic It can. I have to shampoo 2-3 times before it isn't so oily, but I have thick, long hair, so it retains a LOT of grease! Thinner hair would only need a quick clean. (BUT, it's totally worth it!!)
