  • So do they kill quicker or just light up, or what

  • @DrunkMG They do not kill quicker, but an archer armed with better information about where his arrow strikes, is a better armed archer.

  • I have a hudson crossbow with red dot and customated paint, with 5 bolts and stronger strings, which means harder to cock, i have to put my 2 feet on the crossbow and pull back

  • some people use your weapon to kill animal ,can you stop it?

Don't do this thing to let us hate you.

  • @waihongwong95 No, why would I want to do that? The Lumenok is a tool that hunters use to see shot placement and retrieve their arrow so that they may inspect te sign on the arrow to determine what is the best corse of action to recover their game. These hunters are not taking game illegaly. We all support healthy populations of deer, elk, bear and other game species. We enjoy the protien that these animals provide our families. What animals do you eat, and how did they die?

  • im 15 i have 2 compunds a recurve and a crossbow. i still think its cheating to use a crosbow and i have to say its really turned me around its a very fun way for me to enjoy the out doors

  • Everyone go to my channel for more crossbow and bolt fun! Subscribe!

  • Can you turn off the luma nock after you shoot? If so, how

  • @OregonGrown541 Of course you can turn it off. You accomplish that by simply grasping the lumenok where it meets the end of the shaft and rock it between your index finger and thumb, pushing its contacts awat from the end of the shaft. The Lumenok contains an incomplete circuit that depends on the electrical conductivity of an arrow shaft to complete its circuit. Aluminum and carbon bolts both work just fine. Check the video on the Lumenok web site's "crossbow" page.

  • Since when was hunting a sport ? hahahahaha

  • @LucifersDisciple6 Sports ara a test of ones ability to use skills bestowed by your creator. Hunting was a skill developed from the need to feed. Just like running was developed as a sport that demonstrates ones ability to escape danger. Successful hunting ,however, results in meals for the hunter and his family. Hunting not a sport? I beg your pardon.

  • Nice shooting!!!

  • Recurve, crossbow, compound, rifle, pistol or camera just get out in the woods and enjoy the spirit of the wild.............

  • that looks crazy fun

  • that lumenok is that just a lightbulb or one use only and than u need to buy another one?

  • @chuckletable Lumenoks rely on an LED as a light source and can be used hundreds of times.

  • @5Ivan7 do they work with allbolts and crossbows.

  • @freindif We actually make 19 diffeent versions of it to fit most bolts on the market. We make it in a flat ended version and a Crescent or moon shaped version in diameters to fit the ID of most bolts on the market. The bolts must be cust squarely on the end and be made of electrically conductive material.

  • @5Ivan7 well can you tell me if they would fit carob express surge ps thanks for commentin back

  • @freindif We din't make one to fit Carbon Express bolts, because they are made almost entirely out of fiberglass. Fiberglass is not a conductor and therefore not a material that works well with the Lumenok. Carbon is used only on a thin outer layer in those bolts. Check out our bolts on our web site. On our HOW TO page you can find a proceedure that will demonstrate to you how your arrows are constructed.

  • @5Ivan7 thanks

  • @5Ivan7 do they fit carbon express surge 20 in bolts

  • @5Ivan7 can you guys make some pink one or green one i think they would show up better in some situations

  • @freindif We offer the bolt ends only in red for now. Until I am able to outfit the Lumenok bolt end with a replacement battery, green will not be a possibility, as the green LEDs use more energy. That reduces the burn time as well as the brightness. Those would both be steps in the wrong direction. Pink LEDs are really not very impressive at all. We don't use them.

  • @5Ivan7 But they would look better for the girlys! :D

I'd prefer to see some blue and white ones as well as the ones mentioned by FreindF,

  • @Juticar What is really important is that crossbow shooters see their bolts in flight. They need to be able to see what tey hit and how the bolt flies on its way to its target. This is a useful product, not a designer product.

  • @5Ivan7 Who says it can't be both? heh once you get somthing that works well down, can't you make it better? :)

  • @Juticar Certainly. That fact does not change the fact that blue LEDs like more voltage than my battery provides. Less bright and shorter burn times does not constitute and improvement.

  • Kool product !!

It's like having a tracer round for bow huntin' !!!!!!

  • this might seem like a silly question but i dont know much about bows. what is at the end of those bolts that makes them light up. i saw a video on those bolts and they would light up as the guy was shooting them.

  • @xnickbox That is a Lumenok. Check them out at our website. You can get there from my channel page.

  • @xnickbox It is a lighted arrow nock. It is made by "the Burt Coyote Co"

  • Can you get these bolts in the UK?

  • @mintwithahole Made in the USA shipped wherever they are required!

  • @spokelse0 That's right.Bullets kill with hydrostatic shock while arrows kill by blood loss.Either way that you use,you have to pick your shot to ensure that the animal dies quickly and with as little pain as possible.

  • Why is it non hunters never have erudite arguments for not hunting? All they come up with is variations of "You're a murderer" while hunters point out the management by hunting of wild game beneifts them by reducing feeding pressure and the possibility of disease transmission. I thought we hunters were supposed to be the ones repeating ourselves and not giving others the chance to make their points.

  • @doughesson The answer to that is " anti hunters don't have valid points" By allowing the antis to speak, we demonstrate their ignorance. What better way to win an argument?

  • I was watching your 'shots" video were your hunting animals... Did some of tho's arrows go clean threw?

  • @fourpointohh Yes. That is the desired result. 2 holes provide a better blood trail than just one. Some of the places where folks hunt are so thick with brush, that even when an animal travels less than 100 yds. befor expiring, they are difficult to find. A good blood trail is essential in completing the task.

  • @5Ivan7 have you heard of any gun that fires an arrow or bolt using gunpowder and shells????

  • @nerfrocks2009 No, but I am sure that would be quite possible to make one. It would not be very practicle,. If you want to use a gun, why would you want to put and arrow in it?

  • @5Ivan7 Like Elmer Kieth used to say about through and through shots with his .44:"It lets hot blood out to make tracking easier and cold air in to kill the animal".

  • I know i posted this to a reply, but everyone who is coming at me about injured people and handicap or senior citizens, I believe that crossbows are fine for those situations. In PA up until last season it was illegal to use a crossbow unless you were a senior citizen, injured, handicap etc. Yes, I believe that is fine, but as far as the everyday hunter there is no need for a crossbow, it is by all means like a gun with an arrow which is not archery hunting.

  • @bolich16 Thank you for further explaining your position. I understand that you may have misgivings about folks that you consider to be non-archers hitting the woods with their crossbows. At a time when hunting ground is at a premium or simply difficult to find, people get pretty passionate about issues that effect their access to the outdoors. This is all the more reason that we need to be mindfull of everyone's position and exhibit some personal constraint when having these discussions.

  • If we don't control our emotions, the antis will sneak in and capitalize on our division. Any one who displays thoughtfulness and constraint will be heard and understood. If you can do that, you will always be welcome to state you opinion here. I only hope that your detractors here are paying attention as well.

  • @5Ivan7 Agreed, and i guess i should of expected people to come at me, when all i said was "crossbows are for pussies."

  • @bolich16 Sometimes it is hard to measure response when our emotions get involved. We all have potential. Thanks for your comments.

  • @bolich16 No,it's just a different evolution of the bow and arrow. It makes the shot as accurate as possible, which should be the goal of any hunter no matter what implement they use. How "traditional" is it to use compound bows which reduce the effort to draw the string back? What about using sights on the bows?Doesn't that make it "too easy" as well or does having the best technology help the hunter?

    .

  • @bolich16 To each their own.If you start deciding what is ethical hunting for others just because their views differ from yours, what is stopping someone from making that call for YOU? Like the saying goes,"We shall all hang seperately or we shall all hang together.."

  • wtf is lumenok?

  • @ulsig95 The Lumenok is a lighted arrow nock. You know, the part that engages the bowstring. It lights up when fired to allow the archer to follow the path of the arrow.

  • @5Ivan7 i saw a movie where the whole arrow pierced trough a full size boar... is that the lumenok or can any arrow do that?

  • @ulsig95 Lumenoks are made to fit on most arrows and bolts.

  • Does the Lumenok actually go through the animal?

  • @MakeYouLaughs The Lumenok is attached to the arro, at the rear end. If the arrow passes through the animal, so does the Lumenok.

  • crowssbows are for pussies.

  • @bolich16 I suppose that you are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to say that no represtentation could be further from the truth. My 76 year old father is not a pussy. The fact that he is hunting makes him just a hunter. Crossbows allow our wives, children, parents and most of all, our wounded warriors hunt. This method of hunting is no more effective than a compound bow. It can, however, be enjoyed by those of us unable to draw adequate poundage.

  • @5Ivan7 Yea, I understand that and where I was from it was illegal to use crossbows unless you were handicap or a senior citizen,(your father) which i completely agree with, but the average person just using a crossbow is basically cheating.

  • @bolich16 if you have a handy cap of having a cripled hand like me its not pussy

  • @bolich16 what kind of dumbass comment is that?

  • @bolich16 How can you say that so ignorantly? Guns are for pussies if anything, real men use crossbows.

  • @bolich16 Yes you have your opinion but a family member of mine broke his shoulder and cant get it fixed.

  • @bolich16 how about you get a life and stop making dumb comments you loser.

  • Gentlemen, Ladies, bolich16 has heard enogh. He has demonstrated that he is part of the problem, and not part of the solution. Hunters unite. It is the only way that we can stem the efforts of the anti-hunters and the gun grabbers. Yes I am a gun enthusiast as well as a bowhunter. Lets all learn from bolich's mistake.

  • how many pounds is that at

  • @paintballgod88 185#

  • @paintballgod88 And the draw weight of a crossbow works out to be the equal of a compound or recurve "regular" bow of half the draw weight. I.e. a 150 lb draw weight compound crossbow would be about equal in power to a 75 lb draw weight compound bow.

  • all i got to say is eat what you kill. if you don't do that then you better have a good reason like population control.

  • @crazyjak56 that is 100% true i hate vids were thay just kill for fun or lion hunting that stupid stuff thats not hunting its just killing i saw hippo hunting with a bow wtf just sad im no tree hugger i hunt but mostly pigs and small game i can use and i only killed for fun rabbits and i dont look for em just if i see one and we do eat em most of the time witch is population control all hunters have limits just some people dont i love huntingg but not useless animals

  • I have a question. I've seen videos of wildlife being shot with these, and when the animal runs and you can see a light on the ground, is that because the arrow went all the way through, or because the light fell off?

  • @somuchluv89 You see the light on the other side, because the arrow goes through.

  • Sorry to veer off topic, but in response to these snobby jerks who think crossbow hunters are not real hunters....blow me!! Nowadays the differences between compounds and x-bows are virtually non-existent. Both use cams (with 80% let off), triggers, scopes and other accessories to make shooting easier. If you're going to knock x-bow hunters you better be using a 16th century long bow with stone head arrows, otherwise you are just another hypocrite!

    Great Vid. by the way!!

  • @GOLEAFS1967 Come on man. The real problem here is hunters fighting with hunters while our sport is under attack by anti hunters. We have common ground among us. We need to lay the foundation for a strong pro-hunting movement on that common ground. While our goverment is catering to the whack job leftists, the antis get stronger. Time to set differences aside and defend hunting responsibly. We all have a lot at stake in this as does our hunting resource.

    Who is with me?

  • @5Ivan7 Well put !

I've been guilty of nit-picking a hunting video while the antis focus on ending the ability to hunt !

I've told those types, if you don't want to hunt, fine, just don't attempt to stop me from doing so.

Some get it, most don't, so it behooves us to unite and set our differences aside.

By the way, ever notice how the anti videos always say, " Comment pending approval " ?

  • @GOLEAFS1967 Either way they are both still bows. I personally use, and enjoy both crossbows and compound bows. My only concern is that new comers realize that a crossbow is still a bow, not a rifle. So it needs to be hunted with like a bow. Yardage and shot placement must be paid great attention.

  • @GOLEAFS1967 You got it exactly right!

  • with bow hunting you have to be good at it before you evan try to hunt. You dont want it to be cruel

  • use a real bow, whether it be compound or long bow, just not a crossbow. talk about easy hunting.

  • @shootinshotguns Why does everybody forget about the recurve bow? There is no letoff and usually more poundage to deal with. I have hunted for years with an old Bear 75# recurve and had great results. I don't think the difference between a crossbow and a compound is really that great. Sure both are easier to shoot but it still takes a fair amount of skill to come out of the woods with a deer. Having tried a longbow I really can appreciate the recurve and the compound for hunting.

  • @gunslinger5854 We have not forgotten. Regardless of the weapon we choose, we are still all hunters. Let us not forget that. The anti hunting lobby is united in ending our sport. We must remain united to keep the sport alive. If our sportsmans dollars dry up what will happen to wild game then? I believe that most hunters could answer that question accurately. I have little faith that an anti-hunter could.

  • @5Ivan7 The Great State of North Carolina in all its wisdom finally approved the crossbow for hunting for everyone not just the handicapped. Maybe some of the mediocre to borderline shooters will benefit from this. As a hunter I hunt all season with a bow usually a recurve as I tend to make better quick shots than with a compound. Years ago I could have bought a lifetime license for $100 but I buy a sportsmans license every year instead. Herd management is the answer.

  • @gunslinger5854 I wish I'd bought one of Tennessee's L:ifetime Sportsman's licenses when they were much cheaper. The graduated cost means that I'll pay almost $2000 to hunt or fish in Tennessee for the remainder of my life, even if I move out of state. That's worth it,I think.

  • @5Ivan7 When N.C. first sold lifetime licenses for $100 dollars I made up my mind to support the Wildlife Commission with a yearly donation. The do-gooder antis have no clue as to the peril of growing herds and less habitat. They think the outdoors are a huge petting zoo and their mission is to save all the animals. Game management is the only answer that makes sense. Each year more and more deer are being hit by vehicles. They are not that stupid, just too many deer not enough harvesting!!

  • what powers the arrow light? double AA battery? HAHAHA :D

  • i think only disabled people should use crossbows...

  • I know nothing about this sort of arrow, please, could you tell me why the colour of the flight is yellow (or was that orange or amber) and also, why do they have light at the end? Please, reply

  • @vicjustice We make Lumenoks to light the path of an arrow or crossbow bolt so that he archer can follow the flight . The light allows one to discern error in flight so that tuning can be performed to the bow, the arrow or the archer's form. Knowing the impact point immeadiately is a great tool whether shooting target or hunting. They are simple and great fun as well.

  • @5Ivan7 Thank you very much for taking the time to explain, now i know. Thanks

  • @5Ivan7 They also make it easier to find arrows after the shot when your hunting with it, even during the day.

  • that is so coool

  • HEY ! I also own a Tenpoint crossbow. I discovered the DARTON later, but have to say that their speed is pretty impressive ,around 360 fps if i remember correctly. Wanna ask you about it accuracy . Do it consistently produce a tight group on the target?

  • @kamol203 The Darton Crossbows are very accurate. The demonstration that I filmed here was 50 yards off hand. I had no rest. The bow is much more accurate that my demonstration would indicate.

  • what was that some sort of auto loader at the end there?

  • @infantry031 No autoloader. I just clipped the video. The camera was on a tripod so it did not change positions when I clipped the crossbow loading out.

  • i have a question about crossbows. i am not all that familiar with them, but im VERY familiar with guns, and getting familiar with bows. it seems that it is a bow with a trigger. are they easier to shoot than a bow?

  • @JgGooden Crossbows are easier to shoot accurately that a compound or recurve bow. They are much like shooting a rifle, but they have the same balistic limitations as a bow. Shots with archery gear must be taken to the heart and lungs as oppoded to the head.

  • @5Ivan7

ahh okay. but most of the time, unless you are trying to show off, you shouldnt shoot a deer in the head with a gun. they duck their heads a lot when just walking around, so a shot to the vital area or neck is your best bet. or if you can sever the spine. but thanks for clearing up my crossbow question.

  • @spokelse0 You are correct. An arrow does not kill like a bullet. Guns are not always an option either. A lot of hunting for big game occurs in rather populated areas that preclude the use of high powered rifles. Additionally, gun seaons are very short and tags are hard to come by in many locations. Archery is a very effective means of taking game that does less damage to the valuable meat that many of us so enjoy. Your squirrel video demonstrates waste.

  • dam thats loud

  • cool

  • Thats pretty kule and works great....nice work.

How did you get those or did you make them?

I looked the last couple of years for lumenoks for my crossbow but only found some other brand that didn't work with any of my arrows or bolts so I didn't feel like tryin to dismantle the end of my bolt or arrow to try and install them.

I'm interested in gettin some if you could give me some info please and thankyou.

    Thumbs up posting!

  • @BongsIzRippin I really don't know what to say. I will refrain from commenting except that I need for you to become a bit more familial with bowhunting and how it works. Animals hit in the lungs witha broadhead.. a deer for instance will run maybe100 yards after being shot, and then expire. Many much less than that. Because an arrow does not knock an animal down, does not mean that it is not effective. A deer can run the 100 yard dash in about 5 seconds.

  • i live in oregon, in the state of oregon you can not hunt with a crossbow has to be compound or recurve.........try shooting one of those alot harder and much funner.

  • @foxclan99 The Lumenok is a lighted end that is applied to a conventional arrow. The conventional arrow is tipped with any number of lethal broadheads provide quick clean, ethical kills. Injuring animals is unethical, and not the aim of ethical hgunters.

  • does lumenok shots kill or only injure animals?

  • hunting is wrong if you dont eat it, if you dont eat it i think of it as disrespecting nature

  • @fatlizzard19 i go hunting for fun not eating

  • why don't u kill it with a better arrow? why does it have to be a lumenok?

  • @MrShadowdSin The Lumenok is only a device that allows the archer to see shot placement, and retrieve his arrow.

  • lacks rang

  • @weaponman100 Weapons that lack the range to kill at long distance are the weapons of choice in heavily populated areas that are overun by deer . The crossbow is a very effective means of delivering a fatal shot on animals inside 30 yards.

  • fajne

    cool

  • where you have the lights

  • cool view with the camera because you can see the arrow, which flies very fast :)

  • how do the lumenoks stay lit

  • so when the bowstring hits the bolt it pushes the light in and turns it in right?

  • I would love to have one of those :D

  • lol same here

  • I have an old Barnett commando crossbow in the attic, it is a viscus looking

    weapon.

  • very well made video. thanks for posting

  • Wouldnt it be awesome if they put lasers on crossbows?, then you'll never miss.

    By the way, nice video

  • u can some people do for night hunting coyotes

  • yea that would be awesome....nice and illegal

  • hey buddy here in ohio its legal to hunt with a crossbow all season long archery and gun season.

  • Thanks

  • I have to say that after watching this I wish I had a crossbow and would like to congragulate the shooter on their accuracy.

  • why don't you just get a rifle.

  • crossbows are more fun and more of a challange. i cant excplain how good they are or ill be typin all day lol

  • waw great crossbow, buena ballesta amigo

  • How many meters away do think????

  • I was shooting 50 yards

  • I don't have any experience with that xbow, and no knowlege of it. If you plan to hunt with it , I would recommend at least 150#

  • I'm considering a crossbow, so I don't know anything about it, so does the fps affect the power and range?

  • Absolutely. Velocity and Mass are directly related to the downrange kinetic energy.

All crossbow manufacturers suggest the proper length and weight of the bolt. Lumenok bolt assemblies use quality carbon shafts that come from the very arrow manufacturers that supply the crossbow companies their bolts.

  • Right. so I'm considering the ncstar 100 lb crossbow for starters. What do you think of it?

  • Wow! Thats some shooting my friend. Wish I was that good and accurate.

  • not that hard....your basically firing a gun that shoots arrows....no fun in that and definetly no challenge when hunting...when you have to pull back a bow without being seen while standing and your adrenaline is pumping...thats hard....not point and shoot and call yourself a bowhunter

  • shutup

  • x bow hunting isnt hunting...its aiming a gun that shoots arrows....not that hard....not taking away from people that are handicapped and have to use them...but if your healthy and no problems...use a normal bow and arrow....

  • suck it up ya pussy, quit whineing

  • Killing an animal that you are actually going to eat is allways hunting. wether you kill it with a longbow, a crossbow, a gun or a rock doesen't really mather in my opinion.

  • yeah but i dont get it why people hunt

because there is enough meat you can buy in stores

    im not vegetarian or something

  • because its cheap and we are men we dont hunt in supermarkets. we follow on from different generations to eat what we kill and dont disrespect that

  • i completly agree with you!

  • @SuicideFixated

guess who gives them the meat... yes the hunters... and some hunt cuz there r no stores near by. plus meat taste better when its just killed.

  • Ya, You got it right!

  • The hunters don't give the meat to the stores. That's the stupidest BS I've ever heard. Maybe if you go to some specialty store... Your average grocery store won't have hunted game.

No one in the US, except maybe Alaska, is far enough from a store that hunting will be faster than going to a store.

Enjoying a hunt, getting back to nature, better meat, etc. are real reasons. Hunters don't stock the grocery store.

  • not to mention that wild game is waaaay more healthier due to the lack of chemicals in the meat.

  • @k0mpassi Its just people that that kill an animal for fun and just leave its corpse to rot. What a waste, and disgracing and animal like that is disgusting.

  • have you ever been hunting? of course its hard! its not as if the animal just stands there and you point you "gun that shoots arrows" at it and it dies, there is a lot more to it, even with a rifle.

  • i have more hours in a deer stand duck and the duck blind than you could ever dream of

  • faster than fuck

  • I am happy, finally a crossbow shooting video, that is real, and not fake. I hate those people, who make a video that tells you he is shooting from 50 or 60 yards, but the time to the impact sound is so short.. they probably shoot from maximum 10 or 15 yards.

But it is a real real and very good video, grat!

  • Nice vid.

  • That is awesome, you just answered my question of if they have em for crossbows, now where do I get them?

Great vid, awesome demo and killer shooting.

    *****

  • what's the power of it(lbs) and what speed?

  • wow that crossbow is LOUD

  • *claps* ur pretty good, u have any silncers for it ? it pretty loud

  • wow :D

  • your a good shooter how much that xbow cost?

  • NICE VIDEO!
