I'm am very sorry for your loss, you did an amazing thing with Taz because no matter how bad he was, you didn't give up on him and it all paid off in the end. You showed him how to trust humans again even though he had been brutally neglected. You have an amazing gift to be able to do something like that.
You should feel proud of yourself for giving Taz the life he deserved after all the neglect and cruelty shown to him before.
I know how you feel...I rescued a horse and went through the same problems...but we also bonded but only two years later she died for me!! I am sorry for your loss :(

omgooshh we have a dog called taz and my horse is 26 he hasnt got long left but me and him will keep fighting his legs are lame now and he cant trot canter gallop or jumnp he can only walk so im getting lessons on a pony at the local stables and one of our other horse s has extreme;ly bad laminitis i also have a clydesdale called cassie

I had my horse danny he was abandon for 15 years. He was scared and very sick. we started to look after him and he started getting better :) he even started to trust humans...but he had a tumor in his eye which now has sunken into his brain..
he used to be amazing and loving but now hes nearly blind and deaf :( The tumor has made him mad and scared again. I miss him so much and we had to put him down :( he had such a bad life...

and the reason he was tight in his jumps is because u had a hold of his mouth and didnt 2 point all the way. just some constuctive critisism. next time you jump with a horse, just give them their head a little bit more.

Two of my childhood ponies died after several years of ownership. everyone says you will ge over it but it is harder as you grow up. I dont cry about the first one to die so much, but the second one has me in tears now.

Before i got him he had ripped both front tendons. i didn't know this - when he fell the vet said he had ripped one front tendon and fractured the other. (recurring injury that was waiting to happen) - We tried for a week to help him but he was in so much pain that i had him put down because it was cruel to keep him suffering. RIP

Oh my goodness, My horse was called taz. He had to be put down 5/12/2008 because he borke his leg. I miss him so much. He was my first horse, my first love and my best friend for 7 wonderful years! The last few weeks have been the hardest of my life!

I know many have commented telling their own stories so here it goes...about a week ago Mike my friends horse shattered his leg out in the field...he had to be put down soon after...i just did a tribute for her and Mike...oddly enough i used the same song...horses are wonderful and can help us with much in life and its even better when we can give something back...even if its as simple as a happy home

my horse cally was rescued from a riding school i used to go to. as a riding pony was unsellable nor ridable so they dumped her in a field, starving and neglected. turned out she was strong cos her teeth were in bad shape but I fell in love with her n thankfully shes thriving now.
you should be well chuffed you even tried to take this horse on... be proud cos i know i am of my own horse

yeah he was sold to me as a 7 year old but he was actually 16! according to his online passport info. Hold on to your haflinger and enjoy every day you have with it because i regret so much not having time to say goodbye or tell taz i loved him once more!

Thanks for the comment and for watching....after 9 weeks of owning him i went out cantering as i always did. he fell to the ground and didn't get up. the vet said he'd ripped his tendon and that it was a recuring injury that we wern't told about. he was put down after 2 weeks of tlc
thanks it never seemed as he did. after one week i walked him out onto the track and he cow kicked me because he hated humans....but he trusted me at the end

i rarely get on this video because of all the comments make me cry so much - i'm going to make a new video of Taz he deserves it he was a star! i miss him so much, i try to not think of him but once a month i find myself unconsolable over the loss of him. It's been 3 years now since i was with him i wish i could return to kiss him once more!

Oh my goodness, My horse was called taz. He had to be put down 5/12/2008 because he borke his leg. I miss him so much. He was my first horse, my first love and my best friend for 7 wonderful years! The last few weeks have been the hardest of my life!

me and my horse had a really strong bond i love him so much and i miss him he hd a really bad collic i walked him 4 houres but he was in too0 much pain it herts to see your baby and your best friend in so much pain and know that there is nothing you can do to save them he was a angel i had to say good by after hving him for only 3 months he died april 3rd 2008

he ripped a tendon two years before i got him, the owner didn't tell us and it re occured and they couldn't save him

I know how it feels to have an animal put down and it really hurts....i had to put down two dogs and sometimes i can't even think about without crying and feel sorry that you don't have him nomore,but he looks like he was a very a good horse!!!!!

THANKS TO EVERYONE for your extremly kind comments. It means so much to hear that others have been though such a horrible ordeal as i have, i hope that you find hope in a new horse like i have now done.
Even though it will soon be two years since i first got Taz i still think of him every night.
RIP to every horse that every died and i hope you will be strong for them :)

I know exactly how you feel. I cried for 2 months everyday and still am sad when i think of my horse. I bet he had the best life with you!

I know many have commented telling their own stories so here it goes...about a week ago Mike my friends horse shattered his leg out in the field...he had to be put down soon after...i just did a tribute for her and Mike...oddly enough i used the same song...horses are wonderful and can help us with much in life and its even better when we can give something back...even if its as simple as a happy home

my horse cally was rescued from a riding school i used to go to. as a riding pony was unsellable nor ridable so they dumped her in a field, starving and neglected. turned out she was strong cos her teeth were in bad shape but I fell in love with her n thankfully shes thriving now.
you should be well chuffed you even tried to take this horse on... be proud cos i know i am of my own horse

very touching. reminds me of my mate taz i was once friends with, he was a true gentleman but one day a man called ben rode him so hard that he became useless. we had to put him down. such a shame.

yeah he was sold to me as a 7 year old but he was actually 16! according to his online passport info. Hold on to your haflinger and enjoy every day you have with it because i regret so much not having time to say goodbye or tell taz i loved him once more!

you gave that horse the best 9 weeks of his life. he left the world loved and cared for and haveing had a bit of fun with you! you should be proud of yourself that you gave him the best days of his life. im sorry that he was taken from you in such a tragic way but remember him as the happy horse that he was when he was with you. x

i am so sorry, i know your pain... were at night you can here his hoofbeats running around... his neigh echos over and over... he seems to be so close but the reins just slip out of your hands and hes gone... terrible sorry for your lose...

Thanks for the comment and for watching....after 9 weeks of owning him i went out cantering as i always did. he fell to the ground and didn't get up. the vet said he'd ripped his tendon and that it was a recuring injury that we wern't told about. he was put down after 2 weeks of tlc

thanks it never seemed as he did. after one week i walked him out onto the track and he cow kicked me because he hated humans....but he trusted me at the end
