I think your definition of emotional is limited.

It probably was an emotional recording for "maketreks." Many people who watch this also feel sympathetic for the man, which makes it emotional. Just because he's addicted doesn't mean he shouldn't get sympathy. Addiction is a very dark hole, it's not an easy thing for most people to just jump out of. Like everything on this planet, somethings are easier for others, but not for all.

@chimunda Well addiction is debatable since not everyone gets addicted. Which would suggest that there's no such thing as addiction, just lack of discipline. If you touch fire, you get burned. If I touch that fire, I will too. That means that the fire is truly hot. But, if you take a drug, and I take it, but you get addicted. Is it fair to say it's addictive? Because they want euphoria, they are doing this to themselves and have no care for their family or children.

I'm so glad that modern scans and laboratory testing defies your ignorance and shows that people who get addicted to anything from shopping to heroin have different brain compositions than you and I and are lacking in the hormones, enzymes etc. that process nutrients making their dopamine receptors sluggish leading to problems utilizing natural dopamine.

@lesterclaypool1 My ignorance? My information is from actual reports. Again, addiction is psychological. It's why people can actually get off of it. If someone gives you a sedative, you will be sedated. In fact, everyone will. There's no two ways about that.However, if I smoke crack, and dislike the smell and taste, just as with a chocolate cake, I do not think about the urge for it. Just like people "addicted" to food. Well, one can be addicted, but it's in the mind.

What's the connection in all of these?That not everyone is, and all give these addicts a euphoria which keeps them compelled. If the judge says "if you don't get off, you get life in prison". These are the reasons that we have prohibition today and prohibition is what causes the social ills related to drugs, not the drugs themselves.

Sometimes people become broken in life and there's not much hope for them. Here in the States, the politicians have taken the country to wars that many of us didn't think we should be in, going back to Vietnam. And they, along with many on Wall Street, have taken money by way of lies and deceit, resulting with millions of us out of work. They tell us to accept them giving our manufacturing base to other countries while telling us "it's the free market, accept it."

As sad as it seems, and no matter how much people talk down about these individuals, saying they did this to themselves...the people that seem so far gone, they are seemingly hopeless, are only a few bad choices from becoming that person. Once someone becomes addicted, it's not as easy to quit, as people who have never been there, think. Although, nobody is unreachable. Jesus Christ died and was risen up again to give ALL life. Hope this guy is told of Jesus before it's too late.
