Having your very own oak barrel is fantastic isn't it?. . . Although, because of the size of your barrel, you shouldn't have to keep the wine in the barrel for months on end. . . I have two, 2L medium to medium charred oak barrels, I kid you not, 24 hrs later they already have aromas and tastes of Vanilla, caramel and smoky oak, I keep wine in them for 1- 1 1/2 weeks and it tastes like 1 1/2 - 2 years aged. . . yours is a size up. So your wine should have aromas and tastes in 48 hrs. Cheers!

Should have saved the water for brewing (or whatever you do in wine making)
