  • I have the dvd now, this one sounds different, abit slower almost like a waltz, was this altered?

  • I just saw the movie yesterday and it scared the living heck out of me.

  • Comment removed

  • Compare the two scores by looking up "The Spirt of the Beehive- Drawings and Music" on this site.

  • I believe that Lalo Schinfrin was inspired by the theme to the 1973 classic "The Spirt of the Beehive" for his score to this film.

  • The children's chorus proved that this music was inspired by the score Lalo wrote for "The Exorcist" that the "director" threw out for being too scary. This director also dismissed Bernard Herrmann's possible contribution. What an unsophisticate.

  • this song makes me laugh. the movie made me laugh lol.....

  • THIS IS A FUCKING CREEPY SONG!! I AM 39 AND IT STILL A FUCKING CREEPY SONG!!!!!

  • @blae02 The point of this music is to scare you, no matter how old you are.

  • yeah this was turned down in favor of Tubular bells BOTH still scare me just different ages

  • So beautiful, so terrifying, so perfect. Truly, one of the greatest scores ever composed for film. A work of genius.

  • Amityville is still one film thats scares the shit out of me to this day

  • I listened to this in my car really loud while at a toll booth, and gave the lady in the booth a psychotic smile. It was hilarious!

  • @wimpyliberalbuster32 hahahaha.. your a cruel, cruel man.lol Gotta say tho, that's pretty funny. My n my sis used to be terrified of this theme. The 1979 original is still one of the scariest films to date.

  • hey coffiecup, do you know the names of the soundtrack of the video "lucifer rising part 1 the satanic illuminati conspiracy" (first one and at 4:50)? ive been trying to figure out the names or the movies they were featured in but so far no answers. thought you might be able to help me out. please please please please please please please please please pretty please =D thanks

  • @evandrokimargentina Charlie Clouser's score for the Saw III OST. Song is called "Fix Me."

  • Why is it like in slow motion compared to the song I heard on the soundtrack? :/

  • @TheOnePistol

it does sound different, I wondered if it was a remix or something

  • @PrueStar The original album was such a rare find that Lao re-recorded it in Europe back in 2002.

  • This is hauntingly beautiful!!

  • Great music! Such a haunting theme. Lalo Schifrins music was quite often better than the film itself....

  • And yes, this story of The Amityville Horror has been reported 80% true, the house today which I will be visiting is actually no longer 'possesed' by an Indian Cheif, nor Devil. I believe that the Devil only told them to get out so he could have a shower. Ha ha.

  • The mystery and strangeness of this movie is actually the fact that not all of it was uncovered. The last night in which the Lutz family were in the house was said to be 'crazy' by Mr Lutz, although the truth of what happened was never uncovered, truly.

  • BLEEDING WALLS. The most twisted part of me owes a lot to this movie!

  • SPOOKY

  • the story was an hoax or not???

  • the original score for The exorcist. Friedkin choose the musical collage including tubular bells. and he was right. This is a great tune, but much too 'normal' for the ex,

  • lalo schifrin is definitely one of the most gifted composers. period. the man has vision like no other

  • "For God's sake, move in!"

  • LALO SCHIFRIN IS GOD

  • love this movie and the music too . i always thought it sounded so much like the pet semetary theme which is also very creepy too

  • My Dad told me stories about this film. he said that after he had seen it at the Theatre With his Freinds. he Slept with his bedroom light on for like a month. Hearing this coming from a 6 ft 5 man is quite Lolz

  • What I love the most about this score was that portions of it were written for "The Exorcist". Director Friedkin tossed the original tapes into a parking lot because it was too "spooky". I hate to think what he would have done with Bernard Herrmann's score had he accepted the job.

  • GET OUTTTTTTTTT

  • I think what's the creepiest thing about it, is that it sounds childlike and it has that great eeriness of it that makes your hairs stand up on end

  • I love the ORIGINAL movie better than the other version they did in 2005. The original was more of a reality set than the second version. The 2005 film was too fake. and not scary. Dont change the theme to this. Its awesome. If only they used this theme in the 2005 film. it would have made a difference.

  • Flippant à partir de 2:38 !!

  • Yea Coffycup! As always you take a stand.

Thanks for your radical vids. :)

  • That was just me waving my tattered little fangirl flag earlier. I wuvs you, amigito, thanks for being awesome.

  • Good folks:

If you don't like the versions I've posted on here, then find the one that's so freakin' awesome that you shoot your entire load every time you hear it, and make a vid. Hell, I'll favorite it myself.

I just wanted to share the joy in what I've got here. Damn it, Janet.

  • Bom!

  • Its actually kinda sad in the beginning. Very creepy at the end. But other than that this remake is better than the newer one! Awesome 5 stars!

  • hmm, which song is it that we hear in all them documentaries of the Amytiville horror?

  • I hear that the theme music is based on

fallen evil spirits. Is this correct ?

  • and i also think this is the creepiest theme ever made!

  • this theme reminds me of haunted places

  • @KingGhidorah1950 HAAHHAHAHAH yh me too

  • its a bit slow

  • Great !

  • SHADOWS - listen to TUBULAR BELLS.

  • It is the only song in existence that still freaks the shit out of me....I love it

  • I love this man...That movie scared the living shit outta me as a child...thanks for the post....brilliant musical score...Lalo is the shit.

  • He so is. When you're four years old watching this at the drive-in, and that Schiffrin score comes on with the house, it stays with you.

  • Very great horror film, one of my favorite

in the 70s and the music was perfect!

    Thanks for posting...

  • You're welcome, thanks for listening :-)

  • awesome song, the choir still gives me the creeps!

  • One of the best soundtracks for a horror film. Amazing love it.

  • i think the fact that you have a story about the most infamous, and arguably the most evil, even satanic house in modern history and yet the theme song is very melodic, deceitfully peaceful (in stark contrast to the terror wrought by that within the house) and *sung by children* is a fucking stroke of genius.

  • YES!! This is exactly what I love about it, the paradox. It's perfect.

  • Agreed it's like peacful at the begining of the film saying look at this house the perfect family home for anybody, but then it turns dark and sinister, evil and cold saying well you are now here and we are now going to make your life a living hell.

  • this movie is so cool love it!

  • I love this version, can't stand the new version with all those synthesizers Definetely gonna buy this soundtrack to add to my horror movie collection soundtracks :)

  • true its pretty damn haunting, i always thought King's Them album should have been made into a movie, plus Conspiracy as it's sequel.

Im puzzled as to why he never went into directing horrors

  • how did this not win the oscar that year?

  • I know, right?!! I love it, too!

  • Thanks for posting this! My favorite horror movie theme music!!

  • i like the amityville horror this one. But it wasn't the best i tort it would be a lot creeper, the scarist part was where the door came off & this soundtrack. Still good though RETRO!

The remake works for me CREEPEY MOVIE!

  • I'M PUZZed AND SHAKING, MY MAN JUST MOVED OUT WITH HIS FAMILY,NEXT DOOOR ,HE GAVE ME THE KEYS TO THE APARTMENT,DO STATEN ISLAND EXCIST WITH GHOST?FUCKING LET ME KNOW.

  • uh, you guys, why are you leaving comments about superman stuff when you're at an amityville horror video? doesn't make sense

  • They were referencing Margot Kidder, who was in Amityville and Superman (Lois Lane). Our little motley crew tends to go in a million directions sometimes, sorry. LOL :-)

  • Thanks for subscribing to my page CoffyCup and thanks for the kind words.

tried to send you a note, but you have it on block. :)

If you havent done so, please rate my videos. I'd really appreciate it: people write comments but always seem to forget a simple click over ther stars! LOL

Thanks once again. Working on few horror themse myself. :)

  • I fRiggin LOVE this film! And music in the second one 'The possession' was soO cREEpy too..*dAMn* that Movie like my Honey thats almost too unwatchable. It was good and dramatised sure but being true (well not Exorcist bits so much) it was just too unsettling. great music her of course the original *BaBY!* and the 2nd very crepy too! Good choices baby! Oh! Funny enough Brand mentioned '2' aswel!! ;-) XXXX lOvE yOu Honey! XXXX

  • That Grissom theme you sent me yesterday was so beautiful.

I put this together last night and then wondered how I was ever going to turn everything off and go to sleep, but I passed right on out when my head hit the pillow. Go figure. LOL!! I Love You Baby xxx

  • I'm Glad you liked it *BaBy*! This was a great horror theme just don't make them like they used too huh? Aw! My Honey needed some good ol' rest, and she got it. I Love You Honeybunny! XXX

  • Yeah, I don't think this should be on anyone's list of Things to Listen To Before Going to Bed Alone. Hahaha!

  • Margot Kidder rocked it in Black Christmas and Sisters. Ha, two other films that didn't need to be remade.

  • Yup my Canuck homegirl rocks! And her Lois Lane was WAY better than Kate Bosworth's.

  • Well this film was no masterpiece but I have fun watching it and its WAY better than Platnium Dunes remake. UGH! Lalo is a damn good composer and I love this score. I believe it was the rejected score for "The Exorcist". But I think Friedkin was right, it works way better here. This vid rules, thanks for posting!

  • This is the rejected score?!! I met Friedkin in '99, and he said he absolutely hated what Schifrin came up with for The Exorcist. The film doesn't hold up (and I don't even know if the legend surrounding the house does at this point), but I remember seeing this at the drive-in as a child, and the score has haunted me since then. *Awesome* idea for me to upload it at midnight before going to bed alone. LOL!

  • I'll check again but yes I heard this is it. Lalo may have altered it a bit. Yeah Friedkin just went nuts, through the sound reel in the parking lot! And then used almost no music but it worked. No this film isn't very good which is why I figured it would be a snap to remake. Man the 2005 version sucked! This one I enjoy watching now and again. The music still works. Part 2: The Possession is whacked out but more interesting. I love "Amityville 3D", but a lot of people hate it. So be it.

  • You did this before going to bed alone? Mon dieu! That must have been bad! If you see a lot of flies in your bedroom DON'T PANIC!

    :)

  • A lot of flies in my bedroom would be the cue to switch deodorants.

  • Maybe. But I still prefer a more "believable" reason: YOU HAVE GHOSTS! ;)

  • This is on TCM Friday, I think!

  • It sure is! 2am EST, 11pm PST. In Canada too! :) Laaaa, la. Laaaa, la......
