  • Wha'd he say Harry Wha'd he say?

  • Too good, cheers nzoz

  • sou brasileiro, australian crawl, essa era a banda brother, nao tinha muicas ruins, THE BEST

  • nzoz Happy New Year. Really. You`ve kept overpaid underworked people like me functioning. Cheers!

  • @carntspell Thank you and the same to you.. now.. tell me, how do I get myself an overpaid underworked kinda job?

  • @ nzoz1981 you opened up huge doors to aussie rock I never knew existed! Because of your channel, I bought Sirocco. Cheers mate from the northern hemisphere!

  • @adamcharney thank you.. it's good to get this sort of feedback... 'Sirocco' and 'Sons Of Beaches' are two of their best albums.

  • @nzoz1981 yes! I've been meaning to track down the album that has 'Daughters of the Northern Coast' on it. Sons of Beaches is the next purchase. ;-)

  • @adamcharney 'Boys Light Up' album was their first and hmmm... personal opinion - it's pretty awful debut aside from the hit singles.

  • @nzoz1981 Yeah that's pretty typical of a lot of bands. That first album they're still trying to discover themselves. I just ordered 'Sons of Beaches' the other day. Looking forward to it!

  • @adamcharney Brazil is the only country outside Australia (and maybe New Zealand) that knows who Australian Crawl are. They were signed to Geffen in the US, but were dumped due to drug connections or some crap. 'Crawl File' is a good compilation CD and also, James Reyne's solo stuff has their moments. One of the most interesting solo endeavors is Guy Mcdonough's album 'My Place' which was released a year after his death. You can hear some of it on YouTube if you type his name.

  • @nzoz1981 that's pretty amazing since I find oz crawl to be so underrated. I hear them on a sydney classic rock station that I can get online. They remind me if rick springfield for some reason and I think they would have made it big in the uk and us if they had the chance.

  • @adamcharney I think they would have done well in the US. However, I am not so confident about their chance in the UK. Most Australian acts, including Rick Springfield, dodged the UK and instead, set their sites on the US. Most Aussie band founds the UK to be a disappointment.

My nzoz channels have heaps of successful homegrown acts that never made it overseas... a lot of could-a-beens. Check 'em out!

  • @nzoz1981 I'll do mate. Oh and all this time I thought rick springfield was a yank! so embarrassed I didn't know better. :-p

  • @adamcharney lol, no need to be embarrassed... it's easy to forget he's an Aussie. Look up early black 'n' white Rick Springfield interviews taken around 1972 and hear how Aussie he sounded. The best interview is one he did on GTK, which I think I have featured on my nzoz1972 channel Rick Springfield started off as guitarist in an Aussie rock band called The Zoot, which also featured Beeb Birtles (later of Little River Band).

  • @nzoz1981 Heh...just checked out Zoot 'Hey Pinky'. I must say it really ROCKS! Gonna send that to my old-school rocker friends. ;-)

  • @adamcharney Their version of 'Eleanor Rigby' was pretty cool and one of their stand out tracks.

  • The good old days hooning around in the LH Torana with Aussie Crawl blaring on the tape deck!!

  • 3 people don't seem to be going right.

  • big sista

    don't scream-a

    baaacon-n-eggs-on-rye

  • Things justa

    Don't seema

    To be going right!

  • I always used to think the chorus was "Bang sister, go save a, somethingsomething to alrighttttttt"

Which I always thought was a bit odd.

  • @theemimc "bang sister,Life saver"

  • God this takes me back, I LOVED GROWING UP IN AUSTRALIA :)

  • best Aus Crawl song ever? reckon:)

  • best Aus Crawl song ever ?

  • I love how you can't understand a thing he says. :D

  • @irclifford LOL... i swear i think that every time i hear it....its one of many aussie crawl songs where u can make up anything and still sound like u know all the words..

  • @irclifford I was looking for this song, but I couldn't understand a word of the lyrics...so I had to Shazam it every time it came on the radio until it finally recognised the song.

  • The Australian "Police".

  • @drtwaits I thought the same thing!

  • Dowwnload the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • fucking bogan rock!!!!

  • 42 000 views?? How can that be, this is one of the best!

  • rad guitar solo win

  • Memories :-)

  • Absolutely awesome guitar work. Instantly recognizable inside a second. Love your work.

  • This guy apologised on a radio show that he was high during the recording of this song.

  • Love the lyrics-'MMF WRNG BLAT CHINKA POW.' Or similar!

    Great band!

  • this band gets nowhere near enough credit

  • @superboberdo Im a kiwi and i fully agree with that. Theyre awesome.

  • @megacaines:

"some things just a, don't seem a, to (ta ha) be going right !!!"

  • we don't hear this much on the radio anymore

  • What the hell is he saying? I cant understand it, what are the words? I've tried so hard and I just cant make out what he is singing!!!!!!! I still like it , just wish I could sing along!!

  • @megacaines Chorus:

"some things just a, don't seem a, to (ta ha) be going right !!!"

  • @megacaines Chorus:

"some things just a, don't seem a, to (ta ha) be going right !!!" Get the words from some music lyric sites...

  • Great song this one. Probably the Crawl's best. James is still mostly incomprehensible :-)

  • @lanjoseph

Piss off ya twat. This is sacred ground mother fucker, I feel I can speak on behalf of everyone when I say' take ya loans and shove em where the sun don't shine....perhaps next to the spam which you can also shove'

  • I used to go and see them live at the Sandringham pub EVERY Sat night for as many weeks as they played back in 1979 (I think that was the year). Wow, Aussie pubs, got your supper ticket at the door, had fried chicken & chips 'bout 11.... omg, can't do that these days without getting your head smashed in

  • @OutOfFocusWot: you are so right there buddy. Weren't they good to see live though?!!!!

  • great memories!

  • Love it. The days when Australian Crawl were Australian Crawl. James Reyne, Simon Binks, Brad Robinson, Guy McDonough, Bill McDonough and Paul Williams. That was the true Australian Crawl.

  • I had a huge crush on James Reyne when he appeared in the Mini Series of Return to Eden starring as Greg Marsden, Evil But so God Damn Hott!!!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great aussie music for teh long weekend

  • @simonjbinks I hope one day that guitar will be returned to you. Deb.

  • Is James' appearance on Countdown with his arms in plaster on Youtube?

  • @msynman beautiful people on nzoz1979.....

  • @nzoz1981 Thanks for that mate.

  • @msynman no worries..

  • Thanks for having Aussie Crawl and other Aussie bands....love these guys heaps...brings back good memories of the 80's.... :)

  • nzoz you are a champion, very much appreciated

  • @hoppa1979 thank you !

  • Makes me want to dance like Peter Garret. Very appreciated.

  • Brazilian cheers !! Australian Crawl !!!

  • What a mad song, cheers Nzoz once again for your great collection :)

  • Is this simonjbinks the real deal? I personally think its amazing if it is, but you know what the internet is like, its very easy to fake being someone.

  • check his profile

  • @gxd4b1 I had the same thought but what do I care if it isn't. I just hope Binksy is on the mend well and truly and can get it happening again one day soon.

  • @bruchesco I'm fine. The only bad things was the press, spreading bullshit to get a better headline. I taught myself quantum physics after the accident and seriously considering taking up motorcycle racing again.

  • James studied Law, but sang with a full on aussie twang to become crazily hard to decipher- but also sounded raw to the point that every Aussie dug the the sound!

James Reyne is a legend in the aussie music scene- good to see!

  • love the song but what the fuck are they singing

  • things just a

    don't seem a

    to be going right.

  • I love Aussie Crawl.

    Legends!!

  • This is one of my all time favourite Crawl songs (its really hard to pick the best as they're all brilliant!). The guitar work it is fantastic!

When I lived in Darwin (NT) in the 80s, they were one of the best bands to see live. I saw them so many times. I wish they'd re-form for a few gigs and maybe new album :)

  • F-ing rocking guitar

  • Thank you. Simon Binks

  • One of my all time great A/C songs along with Beautiful people....Binksy why did you record in Hawaii for Sirocco or was that a play for the U.S market ?

  • What an awesome lead break

    That outro solo kicks ass

Seems a little bit... Mossy ?

anyone else think this song is about a guy that cant find anywhere to have sex with his gf ? it drives him crazy !

  • Yes, the ending sounds like Cold Chisel. I think your theory on the lyrics sounds plausible.

  • Ian and I had many of the same influences. I reckon he's the best guitarist this country's seen.

  • @simonjbinks Can you still play like that Simon?

  • Probably the least comprehensible English language song that's ever charted in Australia. For years I had no idea what Reyne was singing (neither did 99% of Australia). Everyone thinks it was a smash hit - it wasn't, it only made it to 11 or 12 on the charts.

  • progresive tunes...

  • epoca boa..surf music

  • Verse 2

    Promise of reconciliation,

    Memories of a funny conversation,

    things like taking a vacation,

like going to the moon, I can't afford it.

Your mother with the birds nest hair doo

your brother with plenty of action

your fathers always thinkin me a wierdo

    I can't get no, I can't get no satisfaction

  • Yarnzie mate ......I have known this for 28 years and always sang "bang Sister,Long saver,Wrong going right".Not the first song I had the bad lyrics too.

  • Don't worry. Nobody could understand James. That's why we never broke America. Strange thing is, he speaks well. He sings with more of an Australian accent that he speaks.

  • you never broke america because you were called australian crawl.

  • The fact that they never broke America is far outweighed by the fact that they made some great music, and no band should have to compromise to do that.

  • @Marz2605 Yes, of course. How stupid of me to think that I would know more about my own career than a total stranger.

    Simon Binks

  • @simonjbinks thats alright, just dont let it happen again.

  • @dragon2ization NO MORE F*** CAR ACCIDENT REFERENCES. I'M FINE.

  • @simonjbinks simon, what was the thread you were replying to?

  • Verse 1

    You think its going alright'

you think its doin fine, girl

you think theres nothin in it for you,

    I hope, you don't , mind

gonna get you come around baby

I'm gonna see ya through it, babe

    not making any promises maybe

that's only in the movies movies

  • Things justa

    Don't seema

    To, be going right.

    Awesome!

  • whats with the English.lol

  • I did have the translation but I have lost it.......love this band.

  • marcou época muitas lembrança!!!

  • LIVE ALBUM. MY MATE STOLE IT.

  • did he say "big sister ,"dog sniffer"

  • No.

  • hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nah, I can quite clearly hear "I feel like makin a potation". :) James Reyne's diction is perfect for mondegreens.

  • For years I thought it was: "Things justa don't save us no-o they're going fine.."

The bit I could never understand was when he said : "I feel like datin' with the gay girl."

  • This takes me back to Maroubra Seals in the 80's. Fanbloodytaastic.

  • Well being a QLDer I have to admit their Victorian, but to me its always Mooloolabah hotel in the 1983 that brings back incredible memories, Aussie crawl, mates, beer and joints floating through the crowd AWESOME.

  • Awesome indeed.

I grew up in Maroochydore / Mooloolabah too.

Just a little later, I was only ten in '83 but things were almost the same 8 years after that.

Not like that now though eh?

  • Is this the best Aussie Baand ever or what...??? ...and their from Melbourne...

  • nah HUNNAS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still love this.

  • I love this album - I bought it again the other day for the bargin price of $7.00....

Back in 1989 my then boyfriend & I owned this tape, when we split up I kept the tape....We are friends again after many years & tape has always been a bone of contention... Talk about a custody battle....haha !

  • It took me like 3 years when they released this when a chick in Bombay Rock Surfers Paradise finally told me what the real lyrics were...I went "He fucking said what"

  • Ha ha! Bombay Rock! "Bombay rockin in the heart of Paradise".

  • its australian crawl not australian craw lol

  • Yep, it was a sales ploy... you HAD to buy the album so you could find out the words - brilliant !

  • As I recall no one ever knew what he was singing, completely anyway. You could spend hours going through the lyrics to each song and no doubt being a bit surprised.

  • one of the best aussie songs ever in my opinion. and check out that guitarist how crazy is he!!

  • yeah know wot you mean did you go to Glossop High?

  • Mate you have good taste thanks for posting this!!!

  • When I was in high school this was one of my favourite songs ... not that I ever understood a single word of what he was singing.

  • I loooove this

    ripping lead intro

    beautiful chorus rhythm guitar sound

    incomprehensible lyrics

    ska middle 8

1 piano ripple- listen for it

    perfect tight compact song

    crawl at their best

    Thanks nzoz - you rock

  • thanx mate!

  • Classic song - I'll always remember my mates misheard version of the lyrics "banks just a.... loan saver". lol

  • That is so funny. I can't get those lyrics outta my head now!!

  • lol same

  • Bloody funny, laughed hard. Oz Crawl should get together again and insert your mate`s lyrics into their new version. Is he working in the finance industry?

  • This is my fav Aus Crawl song other than Boys light Up

  • filthy Gillian! :P

remember when they played this in the clubs in sydney and thoght he said "bang she a gone singer"" those were the days :) bu now i have cracked the reyn code v!!!

  • i am definately

  • James Reyne is really hot! I guess it's a bit much for me to expect the video to feature the thoughts and visions I had in my head when I used to listen to this song in my early teens.

Hmmmm... that imaginary video-clip of James naked in my bed as I come home from school. 'Don't worry James, let's fuck and go surfing' is all I suggest we do as scenes of the two of us surfing, showering and shagging was what my young mind came up with.

Good thing I didn't direct this video!

  • what an absolutely disgusting reply to an awesome clip which reminds me of the halcion days of bondi boobs and buns.i like it.

  • Which one of us is more disgusting?

  • Settle the fuck down Neogeo! I actually found her comment to be quite amusing.

What's your problem with a woman telling her teenage fantasies! Grow up!

  • And just to add, you are no fucking better by calling her a 'slut' and a 'tart'. In fact, it's your comment that is offensive. Not her's. Bugger off!

  • Think that's one of the best things I've ever read....you go girl.

  • he he

Thank you. I couldn't be bothered responding to uptight little twerp like neogea24.

  • @GillianSydney James can't surf. It was only Brad and Paul who could.

  • @simonjbinks Ha ha, I would have taught James how to surf! ;-)

And Simon... thanx for the awesome music!

  • @simonjbinks I'm sure GilliianSydney would have had great pleasure being James' lifeguard and giving James mouth to mouth resuscitation, where necessary.

  • @dragon2ization Christ, I'mk 37 years old now. Let's not get too mixed up here. I was 8 years of age when this clip had been shot. I'd say these 'thoughts' of mine only came around about the middle to late 1980's. Just to clarify that I wasn't into giving mouth to mouth resuscitation in 1981 (hence; my profile pic which happened to be taken the year this song was a hit).

  • Comment removed

  • @simonjbinks If his head is as enornous as you say, I could only guess his head may have been... ha ha, I might shut up at his point! ;-)

  • @GillianSydney Don't worry GillianSydney Simon's just jealous. LOL! Besides, you would have had to have fought with Simon's guitar. He slept with that guitar, you know?

  • @GillianSydney stop at his point ha ha ha

  • @nzoz1981 LOL! I've read Gillian's comment so many times today and never picked up on it. Yes, I think she better stop, before NZOZ gets too hot around the collar.

  • @MsDragon1968 nzoz only gets hot under the collar when he reads mean comments about his favourite Aussie bands! lol

  • @nzoz1981 'shut up at his point', not 'stop'. Curse my bloody typo!

  • @simonjbinks my impression of James has now gone pear-shaped. We has his head been? I can't help but ask! he he
