The real victory is when i can complete the game without a complete ctd and announce "Victory" against the incredibly realistic AI that throws the table over every time it starts to loose.

Like on turn 6.

Yes, if you like to play this like AoE or Starcraft. Aggressive style.

No, if you prefer Sim City or Black and White, Strategic style.

I'd say Civ 2 or 3 is a good start.

Others I'd recommend Shogun Wars and Romance of the Three Kingdoms (by Koei).

I don't have the option the play the game in DX11, and I do have a DX11 card (5870m). Is that the problem you have?

@HaleFire7 Actually mine is that it will load if I chose the non Direct 9 setting, but the ground looks like complete garbage and getting better drives didn't help me much. I wonder if it's just a hardware issue?

The main problem for this game is, it runs slower and slower as the game progresses (due to huge memory usage). Removal of few features, including religions, make me miss Civ4. However, Civ5 really improves a lot. I'm proud to see Kuala Lumpur (as I'm Malaysian) even though it's just a dummy NPC.

I'm more surprise that they put more south-east asian civ into the game, instead of, say the Celtics and Norse (or all of the above).

And of course, the greatest general is always Alexander, not Genghis Khan, Hannibal or George Patton... sigh.

The game itself is alright. But if you try to make sense of the game... well, it just fails on too many levels. /rant off

@k1awdttt Ya, I realised that too. Gengkhis Khan never be great in the game. Out of my imagination, 武则天 is the Chinese leader. Very few African leaders, unlike Civ4 too.

I personally didn't enjoy Civ 5 that much, as compare to the past Civ series.

If you are curious about this game but not sure if it's right for you, try playing a cracked version.

You can always show your support by buying a "good" game, but not the other way around.

I just bought a new PC, top of the line, and this game still rocks my computer and crashes, and lags...I love it, but damn....

@jcmartin66 Crashes are a known issue for this game, even for very high spec PCs.

One way to solve it is to play this game in Window mode, instead of Full Screen mode. If that still doesn't work, try to turning the resolution one grade down. My game crash every 6 hours or so instead of every 3 with that setting. Hope it helps.
