@doogims Sorry to disappoint you but in September it'll be 5 years since this car was boosted with the original motor. And 15psi is impossible with a TSI Injection control unit as the added fuel supply.
The outside numbers are miles. How the fuck is it that fast what kind of set up and numbers and boost. I have a turbo RSX with a Greddy kit on about 6.5psi getting about 260whp and almsot 200wtq on a stock K20
@pagabin hey man how much would it cost to turbo my ex 01. but the away ur car is fast and dont listen to those faggots that say is not they are idiots.
@andrushaguy This was 5-8lbs. The internal waste gate setup is crap. Boost wasnt there at higher revs. I did blow the head gasket once but that was due my "i think its tuned?" 3psi set up lol. After that i got a wideband to actually tune it better.
i saw your SRS light is on... i have an 02' civic and mine is on too.. is that just a sensor? i dont want to take it to get looked at and pay $100+ to get it fixed
@Totluvr You can manually reset it using a paper clip but its just like the check engine light for any vehicle. If you reset it and the problem isnt fixed then it'll come back on. With the SRS light being on, it indicates something is up.
@pagabin my 01 civic had the srs light on, and there is a recall on the 01s srs not sure about the 02,but I was on my way to get it fixed and i totaled my car, air bags didnt even deploy... Just a heads up you should get it checked lol
@Diabolic808 I race N/A D17 versions all the time since there are only a hand full of boosted ones here in Hawaii. I think a fully built all motor can only yeild about 120-130whp. The TSI kit that i have is boosting around 8psi and putting down 170 with the stock muffler. As far as if its worth it, DEFINETLY!! Unless you have the funds for a K-Series...
@Diabolic808 I would go K-Series if i could afford boost for it. K's are just a better platform to start from but the price of a swap could be 6k + Aftermarket parts and labor (if you can install it yourself). My setup currently has just about as much hp as a K series but because of the turbo my torque numbers are a bit higher. My friend had a Type S Rsx with bolt ons and i can slowly walk away from him on the freeway. Oh and by chance was that you last night on the cruise in the silver coupe?
@Diabolic808 Yea that was me in the Sedan. The cruises are getting a little too big. Not nearly as much room as before to actually race what you want. But as far as swaps go i wouldn't do a K24. All it has is displacement for torque. Good to boost but it doesn't have that much power by itself. What most guys do is a K24 block with a K20 head. I say the swaps cost too much but if your aiming for something crazy like 350+whp then go with the K. Our motors can easily and safely get into the 300s.
were you able to keep your ac working and did you have to cut up the front bumper to make the intercooler fit? im looking at my car and the ac condenser is pretty tight in there
@dcvingeklipz99 The TSI Kit was a complete bolt on. The intercooler piping routes only on the passenger side so it wont interfere with the a/c compressor. I did need to trim the stock bumper a little so the intercooler would fit. The condenser didn't really get in my way but then again i do have an aftermarket radiator that mounted a bit different from stock.
@pagabin Thanks for the quick reply, very cool that was my major concern, hey would you text me or send me a picture of how your intercooler looks in front of you car? my email is down4nolimit@gmail.com
@JohnE007 There was a recall for it, took it in and they did something (aside from manually resetting it, which i did already) and it was all good for about 2 months then it came on again lol
@JohntheMansarda $2900 for the Kit, $3600 total with some other things and in this video thats actually with the stock exhaust. 2.25" piping from downpipe to stock exhaust.
@Diabolic808 Stock ecu, the tsi kit has its own injector control unit so you don't need to mess with reprogramming or swapping ecu's when you buy the kit. I would highly consider a stand alone like AEM EMS if you have larger injectors and plan to boost more then 10psi. As far as cruises i kinda stopped about 2 months ago. Trying to stay out of trouble till we get a track.
@Diabolic808 Was around $2900 for the kit but i bought a few other things so around $3600 total. If i knew about turbos before i probably would've pieced together a kit. Would be easily under $2000. And im from Oahu.
@stevendeigo Sorry lol haven't been online in a while. But yea the motor is completly stock except for the ARP headstuds. I'm currently still running the TSI turbo kit (yes with their crappy fuel management) with a T28bb Garret. A few months later i finally got it dynoed and made 170whp 169tq with the stock exhaust and with the exhaust opened i made 199whp 209tq. Im done modding/racing since we don't have a track here in Hawaii.
yep. i drive a d17a1 and you must have atleast 15lbs of boost. this engine isnt gonna last too long...

honda has lifetime warranty for srs related shit, your local dealer should be able to fix it at no cost to you.
chrismacias2001 5 months ago
damn not bad for a d17 0-60 cuz thats this cars weakest point and i think i counted a 5 second 0-60... correct me if im wrong someone.
