If you can draw, you can be a good artist. This guy could use any medium. Here's an idea for making colored paper. Get red, blue, and yellow, (I use yellow ochre) Bombay India inks. Using a good white watercolor paper, you can mix the ink to get the background color you want...or even mountains, sky, etc. It works wet-on-wet just like watercolor..with a twist. Once it dries it does not bleed at all if you rewet it. You can then go to pastels or watercolor with your wash of India ink.

This is the reason I love pastels. They blend so easily and their powdery texture gives a dreamy effect. You can easily make differences in depth. Good job on this.
