i read the history of this great king jeong jo and i known that the little king at the end is actually the son of yi san's new wife called Royal Wife Su Ki. He married Su ki after song yeon's death...
@kaubly I'm Korean, so I can answer your question a little detaily. King Jeong jo (1752-1800) had 4 concubines totally. This drama showed only 3 concubines. The mother of King Sun jo(1790-1834), who appeared at the final episode of this drama, was another concubine, Su bin Park. She was one of 4 concubines of King Jeong jo. She didn't appear at this drama. Even if this drama is based on Korean historical truth, some parts of this drama are a little different from historical truth. ^^
@kaubly his mother is Su-bin. She became royal consort after the death of Ui-bin (Song Yeon). I don't know why they don't show it in the drama, but in real life that's what happened.
@kaubly it was from his new cocubine...if you look up Yi San you will see that none of the children he had with Cocubine UI lived passed childhood...after UI died..the king couldnt be consoled for 10 days and did nothing for anyone...the kingdom had to manage itself for those 10 days...he later took a new cocubine in order to produce a heir...and that child was the one that was made Crown Prince..shown in the end.
Even though he took another cocubine after UI's death.she was his great love.
@kaubly if you mean Crown Prince Sado then it should be the Royal Noble Consort Yeong of the Lee clan. If you mean King Yeongjo, it should be Queen Heongyeong of the Poongsan Hong clan.
This was one of the most emotionally draining and epic kdrama's I have ever seen. Jumong is up there with the cry factor though. But nothing had me more than Yi San from start to finish wow. Love this video!

this episode 73 made me cry for like 1hr and a half! I kept watching the parts before she died and when she finally did I CRIED LIKE A BABY! Yi San loved her so much.Like every women, Song Yeon would rather herself die then her baby. And like every man, Yi San would want her to live. I was touched when YS told her he couldn't live without her and she said not to cry &that he must overcome it and keep living. So sad. I wished that YS would had spent the last days&nights with her before she died.

This episode of the drama made me cry so much... it was so sweet, with all the flashback memories, and yet so sad and tragic when Song Yeon died.
