I've heard allegations that contestants on this show and Lingo (both Ralph Andrews products from 1987 or so) never even received their winnings from participating. Anyone able to confirm or deny that?
This is funny, I lived in Toms River at this time and I didn't even know this show a) existed, or b) was taped in AC. It's funny hearing these players came from the towns nearby!
To answer some of people's questions: the show didn't last long; a LOT of people ended up winning the 100 grand. We taped after Peter wrapped up his Broadway show at the Claridge, and he had worked hard all day, then had to tape 5 shows. The show had limited market release (it didn't air locally in Philly, so I couldn't see it either), but did OK where it was.
Thanks for posting this! This was just before I took over as the announcer for this show. Larry Hovis had left, and I was doing a morning radio show in Atlantic City at the time. We did the show at the Showboat, and in the middle of the night without a live audience. We only did a few shows, and then it was over. A great memory of my days in AC!

This is a terrible show. Even the normally wild Jo Anne Worley couldn't help! And is anyone else creeped out by Peter's leering and touching of Denise?
I like Yahtzee the board game. Full of excitement and unpredictability. Sometimes the adaption from board game to television isn't that good and needs alot of carefull planning and execution to get successful. It's important to have a little game in between the dice to prevent the game from getting weak and old. It worked for Card Sharks but it doesn't quite work for Yahtzee. This is a format that has already been done and I don't care what celebs put on their rice; though Garlic Salt is tasty.
Hollywood Squares + Match Game + Family Feud = A complete mess. Too fast, not enough time to bring out the personalities of the celebrities. By the way mushroom sauce on rice is (was?) a popular dish in middle class households, but none of the celebrities were middle class.
Poor Jerry Stiller. This show was too little for him. And to think it would be 9 years after this that he finally gets to move in with Kevin James and Leah Remini. He had to wait such a long time that wil Arthur him!
Speaking of the late Mr. Goodson, we probably all wish that his son would have taken that advice with "Family Feud" in 1992 with adding the Bullseye Round to the show. Now, it seems that the current producers are bringing back memories that are best left buried by bringing back that round this fall on the Feud.
I have a feeling the producers would have proclaimed him "too old" again like they did in 1985 when he was supposed to make a comeback as host of that show.
Oh my god I want to vomit. This is the root cause of the problem with America.

Looks like my prayers have been answered...
Game Show Garbage has Yahtzee as an induction!
I prefer seeing Yahtzee Bowling on Family Game Night on the Hub more than this. At least it has the core format and not this Match Game clone...
gshowguy 3 months ago
@studlyj: I heard it was because his production company went bankrupt, which caused him to shut down the company.
devares2006 8 months ago
I can Clearly See that Yahtzee needs to be on GSN.

@AaronBruceLadner No. Not even The Hub would be stupid enough to air this mess...

@AaronBruceLadner And GSN wouldn't air it, either.

@palatiality Neither did I. I know after HS, Peter went on to All Star Blitz. I guess this came afterwards.

Holy Hell, is this show bad. How long did this last anyway? Poor Peter went from Squares to this?

Seriously, Robert Seidelman needs to put this on Game Show Garbage...

This gets my vote as the worst game show ever....certainly the set was nice, but too many doggone rules! Mark Goodson put it best....keep it simple.

Does anybody know what station aired this in the NYC area? I don't recall the program at all.
EarlSnohomish 3 years ago
I wouldn't know. I grew up in Boston and didn't see this show, but based on its pace, I guess I didn't miss much.
AdamJ617 3 years ago
Most likely it aired, if it ever did in NYC, late night.

Too bad the format wasn't as good.

NAHTZEE - game invented in 1933 by Adolf Hitler. It is deemed the only game worthy of the Master Race.

It's a combination on "Match Game", "Hollywood Squares", and "High Rollers". I think Gene Rayburn should've hosted this show.
