  • For some reason, this reminds me of the theme song of Where in the World is Carmen San Diego.

  • @plasticbutler its probably the gone so long part

  • Anyone remember the episode of SCTV where the "Pre-Teen World" kids sang this song as part of a telethon to save their show? Hilarious.

  • Uno de los mejores clasicos del MTV 79/80, con la banda Chilliwack. el clasico formato de video sin tantos efectos como los videos actuales que deben sostenerse para podetener acogida. muy buen video y muy buena musica.

  • cool harmonies

  • been looking for 'gone, gone, gone, she been gone so long' for soooo long. only thing that comes up is the crap by dri D.R.I dRi whoever... they suck... this is the one.. : )

  • The lead singer from Chilliwack & Rizzo from M*A*S*H. uncanny resemblance

  • wow - now THAT brings me back to the day.....

  • @2Guys1Contour Uhhh what about it? i was wondering if he meant chilliwack B.C. or somewhere else.... I was born and raised in B.C. so you don't need to tell me that it's british columbia lol

  • Don't go in there! There's a bomb in there!

  • @TheEche...Tom's Pizza in Richmond BC that is.

  • @TheEche

That's cool....I was a 16 year old hanging out at Tom's Pizza and singing along with my friends to this song...way back when.

  • I sing this song when my girl goes to the kitchen to make me a sandwich.

  • My girlfriend....I miss you baby....I came here because I'm thinking of you.... Love you.

  • excellent!

  • @ledzeppelinisgoood It was Brain MacLeod I was thinking of

  • I had forgotten this song, Boy, am I happy NOW!

  • No way is that Lex Luger!!

  • The lead singer went on to become Professional Wrestler, Lex Luger.

  • The Recess Monkeys!

  • Got this album when I was 9 yrs old/..of course my brother(best friend for 40 yrs) listened to it before I could open it up from under the tree! He went with God last year and I cherish this whole ALBUM! Thanks!

  • Man, this takes me back.

It makes me think of the early 80s, this song playing on the radio in morning just before getting up to go to elementary school.

  • isn"t this space for comments?...why don't you want any...you tube?

  • @MrTeerocks Maybe the neighbours wanted you off the island...it COULD happen : )

  • A blast from the past. I've always liked this song and band. Very very underrated!!

  • 2:39 is one of the epic moments of rock music.

  • it wasn't a misunderstanding, i shagged the wrong girl and I've been payin ever since

  • check out the harmony

  • In the warehouse where I work we have a distributor from Chilliwack, BC...and every time we get an order from them, the office manager and I break into this song every time!

  • @94cadillacfleetwood That is AWESOME!!! Or whatever is current lingo for EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT, and you are so FORTUNATE!!!!

  • This song came out about 10 years before " Carmen San Diego " first aired.

  • Is it just me or did they kinda rip off this song for "Carmen San Diego"?

  • These guys rocked. Well.

  • I have to agree with Sprocetboy84, although I have to admit that I was 14 back in the 80's! There will never be an era of music like the early 80's ever again. Just so many hits in such a small space of time. Well, I should never say NEVER, because that could happen again if enough young people woke and realized how far we've fallen.

  • MAN, i forgot all about this song. just browsing through the 80's stuff. always wanted to know, who did this song. now i know. awesome song back then. still is to this day.

  • girl in the trench coat nice legs :)

  • OMG I remember when I was like 10 years old dancing to this 45 record with my mom in my bedroom. Thank you, Chilliwack, for one of the best memories of my childhood!

  • R.I.P Brian Robertson.

    Fuck Cancer

  • @TheEhce Brian Robertson is the guitar player for Thin Lizzy not Chilliwack and he is ALIVE and well.Bill Henderson is the guitar player\singer for the band and still performing.Know the facts

  • @TheEhce Brian "Too Loud" Macleod Actually!

  • I had forgotten about this song until I heard it the other day....but like the rest of the 80s music...it was great!!!

  • @eightiesguy62 your not the only one. i was just browsing through the 80's music, and clicked on the video. soon as i heard the opening riff/lyrics and BOOM. it all came back to me.

  • @fervent66 Yea....ain't the 80s music great!!

  • @eightiesguy62 LOL. yep. i was like, 9/10 y.o. when this came out. i would listen to this on the radio whenever this came on. not to mention, my uncle had a very huge music collection on vinyl. today's kids don't know what that is. at the time, all you really had was maybe SOLID GOLD on t.v. depending where you were living at the time.

  • @fervent66 Yea....I've still got lots of my vinyl as well as 8-tracks....most kids today wouldn't even know what 8-tracks are! LOL! Well I'm a little older than you because when this song came out I was about 19 but all I know is the 80s music is still as fresh and sounds just as good now as it did then!

  • @eightiesguy62 lol. ur right. i too remember the 8-track tapes. i parents were really into those doo wop tunes of the 70's. when i became old enough, i would save up my lunch money to buy my vinyl and cassettes. i love hearing the crackle and pop of the vinyl. that's what made it so cool to listen to.

  • @fervent66 Yea...the old "crackle and pop" talk about nostalgia...that is nostalgia!! We have come a long way since then but isn't it strange that while the technology in which we listen to music with has come so far that the music of today has deterioated!! It's a good thing we have the music from the 70s and 80s to listen to on this modern equipment!! LOL

  • @eightiesguy62 i agree. today's music is pure crap. ur lucky to find one group or artist, who can put out a few good tunes. i am a music junkie. just about every time i am out and about, i keep buying more and more cd's to listen to. i come here, and use this a my virtual search engine of the past. hoping to find the cd if at all possible. so far, i have been doing a good job of it. there are some hard to find stuff too. i have just about everything from A-Z. METAL TO CLASSIC ROCK.

  • @fervent66 Come on, man. Aloe Blacc. Swell Season. Edward Sharpe. Gnarls Barkley. Alela Diane.

Music is better than ever :D You just gotta look in the right places

  • @orangeiceice12 i heard of, Gnarles Barkley. not sure about the other names you mention.

i would have to check them out.

  • @fervent66 Check 'em out, man. Especially Alela Diane's "Dry Grass and the Shadows" Dumbo Session West version

Aloe Blacc's live cover of Billie Jean (or I need a dollar)

    Swell Season- Lies

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros- Home

Especially for somebody who appreciates good music... I don't think at all that music is suffering these days, I just think that MTV and billboard radio have restricted the channels available to find out about what IS out there.

    God bless man

  • love this song! ooooweeeeeoooooooo!!!!

  • DK, Im 46...I remember listening to this on AT40, with the legend himself Kasey Kassum...My Brother...You RULE for this post...Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 37 people still haven't seen their girl!

  • @scottcheatham01 man you had me on the floor with that comment

  • there are two versions of this song...there is a longer intro on the original run of the Greatest Hits album...when it was reissued, the song had the shorter intro featured here...i think there's also a version with a longer guitar solo...

  • Reason #5 to hate Canada

(btw #4 is Loverboy, #3 is Glass Tiger, #2 is Celine Dion, #1 is a tie between Anne Murray and William Shatner.)

  • When was this song first out....I remember being a little kid then!!!!

  • This song brings back great memories of the 80's when music was music....

  • LOVE THIS SONG WISH MUSIC HAD KINDA STAYED IN THE GRID LINE BUT LIKE EVERYTHING MUSIC IS EVOLVING WITH THE YOUTH TO BAD THEY WILL NEVER KNOW THE GREAT TIME WHEN ALL THESE BANDS WERE NEW AND THE PARTIES AND LOVIN IT ALL, BEER EVERYWHERE ......lol

  • i think i just got a boner ...

  • I actually heard this song played on a radio station here in Western NY today.... I was surprised at first to hear the beginning of it when it first started playing!

  • The girl is SO CUTE I wanna touch her HEAD in real life!

  • Who IS the girl in this video?

WHAT was the inspiration for this song?

  • this reminds me of the American Legion bar jukebox. drunk times.

  • WOW I remeber this tune, very inspiring!

  • Chilliwack Bruins are hype.

  • @THECHRISTMASDEMON AHAHAHHAH yeah dude its him lol.

  • I wish that I had e'nuf money to create a music TV channel, so that i could make people happy again like we were back in the '80's & 90's. W.T.F. happened to MTV ???

    End of Times (I suppose)

  • Great Tune!

  • renember video hits after school on cbc tv?

  • @taqaugaqalooloo i used to watch video hits all the time - samantha taylor was the best vj they had

  • rip too loud

  • One of the most memorable songs of the 80's, it became a No1 hit in Canada and entered the Top 40 of the U.S.

  • This song had a great hook to it. Awesome key change, power chord snap was unforgettable in my mind. Best song from the group.Bet they were or still are awesome LIVE. Thanks for posting the vid!

  • is that Blondie?

  • These guys were strong before I got out of high school

  • Yep this is a great song..remember it on MTV. Too bad now day kids listen to crap with auto voice box...and that stuff called rap...and "think" its the best...there's some good music out there still but back in the 70's, 80's that's when we had our best music. Chiliwack one of many great bands from Canada....ALL HAIL RUSH!!!

  • @Sprocketboy84 I know! I hate music today.. I agree there are some good songs but nothing like the 80s! I actually prefer those songs over any music today! I am 14 too! Lol My Friends think i am crazy! I dont think so! :)

  • @BethanyAddieMarina You're not crazy. You are completely friggin awesome for that. Good job young lady.

  • @BethanyAddieMarina You're a good man! There was nothing like the 80's. It was the future. I was there and it was brilliant.

  • @BethanyAddieMarina LOL......

  • @BethanyAddieMarina Its great to go against the trends, Rock & Roll will return with a vengence and you will be the trend setter and the rest will follow. I was a teen in the 70s and people thought Punk and New Wave music was stupid but history proved them wrong. Music/fashion always goes full circle its time for artists to play instruments and sing without the assistance of a computer, just my opinion. Cheers!

  • @BethanyAddieMarina you got that right.

  • @BethanyAddieMarina AMEN!!!

I just thumbs-upped your comment because I wholeheartedly, unreservedly agree!

  • i still remember these guys playing at my high school in the 70's. just as good today as back then.

  • Great song still!

    Danny Jimenez

  • This video was one of the first videos I saw on MTV. That was when MTV played nothing but videos.

  • I never thought I'd hear this song again!!! Thank you so much for posting. :)

  • The 80's where the best. So much music that sounded great! Ahh, those where the days!

  • Sweet! I have been to Chilliwack, BC! I have a couple of buddies that live there! They are really cool people!

  • Every generation has their favorite music. Doesn't make any better or worse. Just what you like

  • This music is pure crap.

  • @TheGringoLoco no todatys music is pure crap. u weren't even thought yet, huh? music back in the 70s and 80s came from the heart trust me. todays music the put cds so fast today its no wonder no so many groups stay together anymore. so before u start calling the music from the 70s and 80s crap get your facts straight.

  • thumbs up if u live in chilliwack!

  • This is a really good song.great arrangment!

  • A classic at The Bus Palladium, rue Fontaine, Paris !

  • @ gusemcontra: und die Leit aus Togo könnas Deitsch? Das glaubsts da selbe niet. Aber dass passt scho, du kännst weiter gutes Kanadisches Musik schauen gel( a wann du a Togoiana sei solls)

  • I remember dancing like crazy with this beautiful song.

  • Being bilingual, I thought when I was growing up that the chorus was sort of a variation of a southern German dialect A-Gon gon gon, Isch bin gonz aloan (I'm all alone).

  • This song brings back great memories. Shame they only had one real hit.

  • @rxnumbercruncher

depends on where you're from. they had many hits in Canada.

  • @kerpin09

Then it's a shame that CHilliwack didn't catch on as well here in the US as in Canada.

  • Ah summer 1981.........

  • I LIVE 3O MINS AWAY FROM CHILLIWACK ....LOL BC ROCKS

  • wow heavy bass nice

  • Excellent early 80s tune from an unheralded Canadian band.
