The world IS better. There are more temptations, yes, but there are also way more opportunities. Some people are less well off, because they've been duped into living beyond their means, accruing debt, terrified off losing their lousy job, and all the while are waiting for someone else to solve their problems. But for people with responsibility and/or initiative, there's never been a better time to be alive. Hell, even for lazy people (like me). Modern life is just easy.
@herickrulez look up vids of his kids and how he raised them on youtube you will see he raised them very well didnt create spoiled brats like most people would assume 2nd richest man in the world and he still was able to raise them without letting them become rich brats this guy is amazing
This is probably a better time to be born than 1930. The world now is far better than before, and it will be, if we continue to pursue our dreams. No matter how bleak the global outlook is, if everyone is still sane, I believe we're moving forward. No pain, no gain - the more better the world is, the higher the requirements will be in order to survive.
"they(students) have a really bright future", its already been researched that younger generations now are facing harder obstacles than previous generations, he's clearly MANY degrees separated from modern America (from a college student)
i have to agree with buffet when he says its better for young people today. he even mentioned in a round about way that it is easier for people to mobilize. that HAS to be a good thing. right?
@TSARMOTAF Life isn't better. It's more complicated than ever before. Stress and depression are increasing all the time, this is a sign that the world is shitty.
Given the current state of the economy and it's effect on the average person, there is no obvious way anyone can assume we or our children, or their children's children will live better than our parents did... We're all simply flying too close to the trees (so to speak) and since Warren is up in the clouds (financially) I don't think he can possibly realize that... perspective. No offense Mr. Buffet - the technology is better but standards are falling for we mortals... :(
Well, you enjoy teaching Mr. Buffett, we enjoy listening!
