wow, you are so full of fail. Compression blast is the only weapon you should rely on if you know how to use it. And the flare gun is deadly beyond reason when you actually aim. And the ability to take a heavy, fully buffed, out in 2 hits is a godsend with the fireax.
The problem you seem to have is that you utterly suck and have no skill to rely on regarding the pyro. You use the noob set up and it shows. Air blast isn't hard, flare sniping isn't hard and fireax is awesome. Try again.

Uhh...gonna have to completely disagree with this guy's view of the Flare Gun. It is EXTREMELY useful in many situations, be it finishing off an already-injured enemy from afar, injuring + setting an enemy on fire and assisting in a kill, causing enemies to flee the area and heal themselves, forcing camping snipers to run away...Oh, and the flare gun gets mini-crits on an enemy already on fire.

The airblast can be very useful in pyro to pyro battles in order to push back a pyro who is flaming you - I have manage to win out against other pyros with this technique on many occcasions: Allthough the airblast is difficult to use it can become a valuable asset with practice.
how do you kill a pyro? easyest way is with the axe. dont abandon it!! run around and time your swings and it takes you 2-3 hits to kill him (1 crit). airblast can be used in many creativve ways, pushing people of cliffs, disarming uber, pwn sentry by shoting their rockets back, etc.
I do have to disagree with this in many ways. New players don't recognise that Pyros will surely die if they are spotted, since it's an ambush class. Sure, it can be used the other way, but it's less rewarding. The axtinguisher is an extremely potent weapon when used with skill.
This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Pyro is difficult to play and should not be taken on by new people coming to the game. Also the Compression Blast is great! Very useful once you know how to use it (which the author apparently does not). Go watch some other pyro videos on Youtube to really see how to play pyro.
@ProVideoGameStrats all competetive leagues don't stray very far from the 2 Scouts, 2 Soldiers, 1 Medic, 1 Demo setup. Having played competitive TF2 as a Scout in the standard 6 v 6 setup there are very little gaps that can be filled by switching to any class who's benefits would out-weigh the disadvantages. However this video is clearly not ment to teach competitive play which begs the question of why you brought it up in the first place.

This video was way off. I not a pyro lover, but the air blast is WAY more useful than the backburner. U forgot the fact that u can push ANY enemy away with the air blast, even ubered enemies. And u said, that the upgraded axe was pretty useless. I have to disagree with that. Since u can take out overhealed heavies very fast, if they're distracted. IMO, it's a replacement for the backburner. Oh, and by the way... How ofted are u actually behind ur enemies as pyro, to use backburner?
The backburner's more useful for ambushing, and is probably better for people who haven't played many first-person shooters since they probably won't use the compression blast at first.
I generally use the regular flamethrower, though, but which one's better is mainly situational.

And when things look grim, get out of there. You don't have to kamikaze to be effective. It may be a valid tactic, but retreating while your enemy is on fire is a better idea.

A heavy will always dominate a pyro if he can just track the pyro's movement. Also, the sniper is actually the best way to kill an overhealed heavy, with 1 shot to the head.

The Heavy can't track the Pyro if you throw off his aim with an airblast. Also by the time you charge the Sniper up you could have already killed him with axetinguisher.

He's really effective at using all of them(esp flaregun) . He uses the airblast to knock enemies up then finishes them off with the axtinguisher. Also the axetinguisher is the fastest way to take out an overhealed Heavy(1-2 hits).
Yeah, I apologize, Valve changed the damage multipliers recently for critical hits, it can now be a total of 0-10% more damage, as opposed to the old value of 0-15%.
I don't know where the 150% damage stat came from, I think I got confused with a different weapon.
There are a few videos on youtube showing the axetinguisher being used to quickly and efficiently finish slow to respond enemies off, and might as well be carried since it replaces the old axe.
I have one comment that the Flare Gun is very usfull. It may not be the best for killing but it is perfect for pestering the snipers and annoying people on control points since if there is no medic they have to run and get health.
I'm wondering how much you actually played TF2 before making all these guides. You're just stating basic noob facts. You're 100% wrong about airblasts. A good pyro can deflect rockets, nades, and stickies. A good pyro can also stop ubers in their tracks. I don't know what you smoke but you should learn how to play these classes more before you make these lame "guides".

I'll give you that against ubers it is probably your only defence against that (air blast), a huge oversight by me (my bad). but as for switching to the axetinguisher, it's still not worth it because at extreme close range a good heavy can kill you almost instantly.
And as for hitting snipers with the flare gun's to screw em up, that's true, but against a talented sniper, you're most likely going to take a lot of damage and or get headshotted.
Unfortunately, most of the time you're not playing against the best players out there, so you one might do very well using a certain strategy, but as soon as you play against the best, you may very well fumble, leading you to develop strategies that work against everyone.
good points, just saying the regular axe doesn't have any advantage over the axtinguisher, so it's probably better to have it there for backup against a dim heavy~
and with the flare gun sniping i'm not up for a sniepr battle with it, just to mess up their aim if you need to pass them to reach more plausible targets, ya know?

gotta disagree with the airblast. its unbelievably good in the hands of a pyro with half a brain.
1. able to breakup ubered enemies.
2. able to push people off the capturepoints
3. able to put out fire on friendly team mates
4. able to 'juggle' and finish off enemy with axetinguisher
5. able to 'fire-back' any projectiles including rockets, baseballs, jarate, arrows.

Axtinguisher = Heavy Killer.
Try flaming a heavy to death, one turn of his gun and you're swiss cheese, burn him and then axe him, you've got a dead heavy on your hands.

The airblast can be very useful in pyro to pyro battles in order to push back a pyro who is flaming you - I have manage to win out against other pyros with this technique on many occcasions: Allthough the airblast is difficult to use it can become a valuable asset with practice.

how do you kill a pyro? easyest way is with the axe. dont abandon it!! run around and time your swings and it takes you 2-3 hits to kill him (1 crit). airblast can be used in many creativve ways, pushing people of cliffs, disarming uber, pwn sentry by shoting their rockets back, etc.

I do have to disagree with this in many ways. New players don't recognise that Pyros will surely die if they are spotted, since it's an ambush class. Sure, it can be used the other way, but it's less rewarding. The axtinguisher is an extremely potent weapon when used with skill.

This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Pyro is difficult to play and should not be taken on by new people coming to the game. Also the Compression Blast is great! Very useful once you know how to use it (which the author apparently does not). Go watch some other pyro videos on Youtube to really see how to play pyro.

@ProVideoGameStrats all competetive leagues don't stray very far from the 2 Scouts, 2 Soldiers, 1 Medic, 1 Demo setup. Having played competitive TF2 as a Scout in the standard 6 v 6 setup there are very little gaps that can be filled by switching to any class who's benefits would out-weigh the disadvantages. However this video is clearly not ment to teach competitive play which begs the question of why you brought it up in the first place.

1.You're telling them what you think is the truth, not what is actually true.
2. Compression blast is very useful. If you ever see an actual skilled pyro, he will utilise it a lot. Using it isn't really that hard.
3.Flare gun maybe not have the finishing capabilities of a shotty, but it is god for harassment, and is probably your only defence against snipers.
4.Axtinguisher is better against heavies, the only hard counter to pyros.

This video was way off. I not a pyro lover, but the air blast is WAY more useful than the backburner. U forgot the fact that u can push ANY enemy away with the air blast, even ubered enemies. And u said, that the upgraded axe was pretty useless. I have to disagree with that. Since u can take out overhealed heavies very fast, if they're distracted. IMO, it's a replacement for the backburner. Oh, and by the way... How ofted are u actually behind ur enemies as pyro, to use backburner?

The backburner's more useful for ambushing, and is probably better for people who haven't played many first-person shooters since they probably won't use the compression blast at first.
I generally use the regular flamethrower, though, but which one's better is mainly situational.

I think the pyro should be played sneakily. :3 You are a fire-breathing NINJA! Act like it.
And when things look grim, get out of there. You don't have to kamikaze to be effective. It may be a valid tactic, but retreating while your enemy is on fire is a better idea.

I once got an axtinguisher kill that I doubt I could get with any other weapon; the enemy is on fire, right above a river, jumping into it.
Maybe axtinguisher isn't as good as the flamethrower for close range, but it's sure fun.

I mentioned it before, but I'm sorry for bashing the airblast, it has its uses (although rare).
I see what your saying, people can do all kinds of tricks using a pyro, but they are just that, tricks.
A heavy will always dominate a pyro if he can just track the pyro's movement. Also, the sniper is actually the best way to kill an overhealed heavy, with 1 shot to the head.

They're not tricks they're tactics same as any other class.
The Heavy can't track the Pyro if you throw off his aim with an airblast. Also by the time you charge the Sniper up you could have already killed him with axetinguisher.
(btw I'm not trying to troll you video I just don't want people to get the wrong idea about the unlock weapons)

He's really effective at using all of them(esp flaregun) . He uses the airblast to knock enemies up then finishes them off with the axtinguisher. Also the axetinguisher is the fastest way to take out an overhealed Heavy(1-2 hits).

I have to say you quoted the stats wrong for the axestinguisher, it does 150% damage to enemies on fire and 50% to those not on fire.
Meaning it is pretty damn lethal.
But since you unlock the backburner first, it does not get used very often.

109268, I'm pretty sure it's critical hits when enemies are on fire, no critical hits otherwise. The 50% is right though.

Yeah, I apologize, Valve changed the damage multipliers recently for critical hits, it can now be a total of 0-10% more damage, as opposed to the old value of 0-15%.
I don't know where the 150% damage stat came from, I think I got confused with a different weapon.
There are a few videos on youtube showing the axetinguisher being used to quickly and efficiently finish slow to respond enemies off, and might as well be carried since it replaces the old axe.

I have one comment that the Flare Gun is very usfull. It may not be the best for killing but it is perfect for pestering the snipers and annoying people on control points since if there is no medic they have to run and get health.

I'm wondering how much you actually played TF2 before making all these guides. You're just stating basic noob facts. You're 100% wrong about airblasts. A good pyro can deflect rockets, nades, and stickies. A good pyro can also stop ubers in their tracks. I don't know what you smoke but you should learn how to play these classes more before you make these lame "guides".

you should give the weapons you don't use more credit~
the airblast's useful if you have decent reactions, and it can break up ubers.
the flare gun's useful to mess up sniper fire and catch enemies retreating to their team without having to follow them to your untimely doom.
the axtinguisher can take out most classes faster than flaming them, a heavy'll go down in two hits of an axtinguisher and to be honest, the alternative is an axe that has no benefits to the flamethrower whatsoever~

I'll give you that against ubers it is probably your only defence against that (air blast), a huge oversight by me (my bad). but as for switching to the axetinguisher, it's still not worth it because at extreme close range a good heavy can kill you almost instantly.
And as for hitting snipers with the flare gun's to screw em up, that's true, but against a talented sniper, you're most likely going to take a lot of damage and or get headshotted.

I'm not going to give you information about how to play against average, or good players. I'm talking about playing against the best.

Unfortunately, most of the time you're not playing against the best players out there, so you one might do very well using a certain strategy, but as soon as you play against the best, you may very well fumble, leading you to develop strategies that work against everyone.
This has been my method of developing strategies.

good points, just saying the regular axe doesn't have any advantage over the axtinguisher, so it's probably better to have it there for backup against a dim heavy~
and with the flare gun sniping i'm not up for a sniepr battle with it, just to mess up their aim if you need to pass them to reach more plausible targets, ya know?
