That kind of distorted kick with that melody IS darkcore. Seriously, listen to MassHypnoziz, he's a great darkcore DJ. Many of his projekts do rely purely on the distortion, to great affect, but equally he does use this kind of affect. Darkcore may be one of the harder HC genres, but to get that kind of strength it needs contrast in the freq. If its just purely distortion etc. it would be terrorcore. HC genres exist for a reason....

1) The distorted kick. No way are you going to find that kind of hit in a frenchcore or even frenchtekk song.

2) The bpm. The average fc/ft song is about 180-190, just faster than the average 160-170 for hardcore in general. Anything higher ofc. tends to be speedcore/terrorcore with the even faster splittercore. This is 150bpm and that IS darkcore.

The combination of that kick with almost hardstyle melody use. continued:
