Well...yes and no. You really should buy some good literature about keeping them and then there are many things to pay attentiion to. But as soon as you know a little more about how to do it, it will be not that hard^^
Seems pretty normal to me. chameleons are very shy animals and therefore being in a new environment with new people around him is pure stress for him. You better watch out not to get him over-stressed. Also the cricket can kind of stress him...maybe it was too big? anyway, he has to get used to the new situation...give him some time ;)
And the movement is normal, too. He imitates a leaf in the wind so that you - a potential enemy - cannot see him.
hi. i have a baby veiled chameleon. i bought him a bout 4 days ago. latly hes been acting weird. when he sleeps he left hes mouth open last night. also hes darker than his normal color. and today he open hes mouth and puffed up for no reason. i have a uvb bulb and a heat bulb. and one time there was a cricket next to him and he was breathing heavy. whats wrong with mine. i dont want him dying. please help. also he walks slow and when he walks he like waves or something please help.
