  • How fast do these things go up to stock. Im looking into getting one.

  • @kellzmann about 90 mph

  • @kellzmann rated at tthe 140km/hr mark stock.

  • I like the RD style tank decals, great bike! (I also own one)

  • very nice.

  • @spoddog1 thx, glad you like it :-)

  • Great work...super nice SR...

  • @jeffmoto72 thx :-)

  • nice one

  • Nice SR!

  • @blabby102 Thx :)

  • Very nice. You've put a lot of work into the bike and it shows. I hope my XS650 cafe project looks as good as this someday

  • cool and nice. I have same model.

So I could understand how much you love.

    keep up great jobs.

  • Great bike and some super memories.

You did an awesome tasteful job on this :)

  • Thanks alot. I love the bike myself. Its now residing in my kitchen :) Soon i will repolish the frontend, besides that im just waiting for spring :)

  • ha ha lol.. I remember sr engines sitting in the kitchen.. My wife loved it :)

  • Very nice. Nice front brake caliper.

  • Thx :)

  • would you recommend this bike for a beginner

  • Its not a fast bike wich is good i guess. The bike is also easy to ride. But for longer distances its uncomfortable and the only way to start it is via kickstart. The advantage you do have is that its a very cool bike wich you can turn into a cool caferacer, bobber, tracker or leave it in its original form :) Mine is not original, but has several modifications.

  • I had one for ten years and would say it isn't good for a new rider. Slow, Kick start only but still my favorite bike i have owned. Also the slowest. 25 stock horsepower and 80mph top speed.

  • nice bike man

  • Thanks :)

  • That is a sexy SR500! just what i would do to one if i had one. Always loved these machines, had a mate that had one years ago. So much character. :-)

  • Thanks man. I love this bike more and more :)

  • Nice. I love the wheels.

Wow. This is a beautiful motorcycle to me. Just looks about perfect is shape, size... haha. I would love it.

One of the most amazing things about motorcycles is when you start to make it your own : )

  • Still love your bike, it´s in incredible good shape, near perfection, looking great! Only the Rearlight I would change, but that´s only a question of taste. Indeed a magnificent SR 500! Congrats!!!

  • Thx :)

  • classic love it the best and yamaha sr 500 love this bike

  • so it works without any type of modification?

  • As far as i know. I only bought new original throttle cables and a new clutch-cable because they were worn. But they still fit. You might have to fiddle a bit with them so they work without resitance and such. The orignal bars are a bit high on the SR 500 so you got good length in the cables. I used to have dragbars on it before and i used the originals cables then as well. I must say that they actually fit better with the clubman bars than with the drag bars.

  • did you have to get longer cables for the clubmans? im thinking of getting some for my SR.

  • Nope im using original cables for my clubman bars. I have shorter ones, but they are for clip ons :)

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THE SEAT???

  • The seat was bought from germany. Wunderlich og kedo was the company i think. But its from 1997 so they dont make them anymore :(

  • Cool paint job!very nice indeed,i could ride that bike forever,or until me back slips a disk ouch!had to give up the drop handlebars for upright these days.lovely note from that supertrap, even better than the previous one.:)

  • love the SR and you did a great job. well done. Not so sure about the handlebars though ... ;-p

  • Shes a good old gal.

  • Well done, lovely job. Is that a super trapp pipe? Put a TT 500 head on it with the piston and lumpy cam the big girl will go then!

    Team Fabulous.

  • Its a Supersound system from Plot Online in Japan. But they seem to have a supertrap setup in the rear end. It is not as load as my old black supertrap, but the quality is far better. So far im running my sr500 with original cam and piston. But the TM 36 Mikuni carbie did give me more throttle response. Nice that you like the bike :)

  • Just had another look at the vid, i like the mod you have done to take the R1 brake or is it TZR?! Nice rear sets and the fork brace is a nice touch. Great sound and im sure great fun to ride, keep her lit.

    Team Fabulous.

  • The frontbrake is from a Yamaha R6. I now have the engine out to put a lumpy camshaft in her and also im putting on a big KN airfilter. The airfilterbox will be removed. Hoping for 42-45HP on the engine :)

  • If your putting a lumpy cam in why not a couple of thou of the head and a mild port?! With all these mods she might tip 50bhp plus the head skim would really help low down grunt.

Just a suggestion but whatever you do enjoy it. I find once you have the heart of your bike in bits and rebuild her back to life you end up falling in love ith the old girl. Let us know any results.

    Team Fabulous

  • The TT head has smaller valves also the SR carb is better

  • good yamaha looks !

  • Den var rå :)

  • Nice style ,for the SR500 veteran...............
