posting again on behalf of my husband, under the fine / sand like gravel is a plant feeding substrate but we cant remember the name of it i'm afraid. I couldn't tell you if the plants prefer sand over other gravels as we never experimented, No we didn't use any Co2 foggers of any kind.

This tank has now gone to a friend of ours due to having babies and needing more space but the husband will be playing with a smaller tank soon ( he hopes)

@mll1229 i don't know how people have trouble keeping water clear ? its really simple just do a water change once a week of 30% - 50% and make sure to vacuum gravel (: or sand this helps to keep things fresh

im trying to choose a gravel that would best reflect the ocean because i have a tropical tank so i thought of white

@kaleluk31 Dont get white gravel. Over time it will get murky and will look horrible. Off-white gravel is much better and retains its looks over time.

u have u get special wood. like malaysian driftwood. and all those fish are pussies. guppies of some sort. feeders in my eyes. my smallest fish would eat those. thats a waste of a nice big tank. you should house something cooler in there. like oscars, piranhas, african cichlids, bichirs, ropefish, clown knifes. nice tank but the fish suck

they are only to test ! it is pointless spending all your money on beuatilful fish when you can spend ; say a fiver on some small colourful fish to see if ur water is good and if the plantsget nibbled-- rather than a chomp

grideuk, my apologies m8 i thought you had the 350L trigon but iv'e noticed you only have the 190L, in that case only small fish would suit your tank. the biggest fish i have is a 7 inch severon which i have had since it was just 1 inch. my fish are healthy and have loads of space.
