  • Victor Borge was quite the comedian as well as pianist.

  • Ah man this is just awesome! XD I LOVE Victor Borge!

  • Really? Someone disliked this??

  • good pianist...good actor...also good comedian...what else?

  • Just goes to show: Victor was absolutely amazing. Of course, seeing how he had to dash out of the screen to go around the puppeteers, there was likely more room for him to work with than we are aware.

  • Who ever disliked this, I hate you and your parents hated you too...

  • This routine was intricate enough when Borge did it with an ordinary person; however did he do it with two Muppeteers in a hole underneath him?

  • @MaskedMan66 when when rolf played the piano there were 2 people one behind the seat controling the body and the head, and one under the piano controling the hands and where they pressed, and he also had to press the pedals.

  • @tsurugikage I know how Rowlf worked, that's not the problem. What I can't work out is what sort of support Borge had under his feet, given that Rowlf and he kept moving around each other.

  • sorry my bad they were both behind rolf's body.

  • What a wonderful interpration of a classic, by one of the most brilliant pianists of our time.

    The guy wasn't bad either.

  • love it

  • "A talking dog. Also a piano player. I wonder how his violin playing is?"

    "Sometimes I fiddle around."

    Nice.

  • 1 person is a dog who cant talk or play the piano

  • That's not bad! I love..this man!!!

  • Which series is this from?

  • The brilliance of both Borge and the Muppets is in the appreciation of poking fun at the things that so many others take too seriously......When brought together, they are understandably magnificent.

  • @GreenEyedAngelFL nicely said :))))))

  • and a piano player also! HAHA!

  • and a piano player too! HAHA!

  • "sometimes I fiddle around" hehehehe! :)

  • Queeee exitooooo!!!!!!

  • rowlf is awesome I've always been a fan of him and havin victor borge play alongside him is epic.

  • Some of Liszt's compositions are almost impossible to play. He had huge hands and, so I've heard, could reach two octaves with one hand.

  • @79barkingspider Yes, this is true, his handspan measured nearly a foot. On top of that, Liszt also set the trend for playing music memorized :(

  • Classical music education is a thing of the past, I guess (from reading some of the comments below). Sigh.

  • @canajaneh I know what you mean. It's so sad. =/

  • @msm2you Yes ... The fact that Mr. Borge can walk around Rowlf and the bench (and the two puppeteers and the video monitor) with such apparent ease is quite a feat in itself!

  • @cl9987 puppeteers? what are you talking about? that's a dog:)

  • Comment removed

  • @msm2you And in this case, Rowlf is "playing" on a "live," unmodified piano. It had to be because Victor Borge is really playing on that keyboard. So Rowlf couldn't actually press down on any keys because the resultant sound would ruin the take. All this while he's synchronizing his "playing" with the off-screen pianist who's actually playing Rowlf's part. Quite a feat!

  • What is the tune they star playing at 3:12 called?

  • @CWMmedia you mean one of the main themes from Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2?

  • @TrumpetTongo I'm not sure. Just tell me what that tune is at 3:12, please.

  • @CWMmedia Try listening to a recording of the original piece and you'll realise just how retarded your question is!

  • @TrumpetTongo There's no need to be nasty about it, let's just drop the conversation.

  • @TrumpetTongo wow - could you be ruder?

  • @CWMmedia That is a part of the Rhapsody. There was no change in tune.

  • What is the name of that sort of jumpy tune they start playing? At 3:12.

  • Nitpicking, but isn't this piece by Brahms?

  • @Julian9ehp

    Brahms?

No. Its the Franz Liszt Hungarian rhapsody number two main theme and a few excerpts - as stated at the start by Victor Borge and in the title of the video...

Aside from that, where did you get Brahms from?. Liszt and Brahms don't even sound remotely alike.

  • OMG, effing funnyyyyyyy!!!!!!

  • the cadenza...

    haha hillarious :D

  • EPIC!!!

  • So cute and funnym!!! :^]

  • Lol so cute and funny!!! :^]

  • It's so funny when Victor sits on the keys. And I like it when he closes and sits on the lid.

  • Nice play! I am from Hungary, btw, and we regard Ferenc Liszt as one of the greatest composers of all time.

  • @bbenjoe Ő a Gin,én pedig a Tonic. HaHaHa

  • @bbenjoe I'll presume to speak for the rest of the world, then, and state that everyone else on our fair planet also regards Liszt as one of the greatest composers of all time! :)

  • is his name pronounced Vik-tor Borj-a or Vik-tor Bor-j?

  • Vik-tor Borg-a

  • whats the song at 3:12

  • That's part of the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt. Just check the original version out here on youtube.

  • Still Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, they just skip ahead at about that point.

  • Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2 by Frank Liszt

  • Rowlf is so cute.

  • this is classic, he did many shows with the Muppets and Rowlf also : )

  • I'm amazed to see Victor Borge do this routine with a Muppet. It's really good!
