i had the same problem its the RF reciever which is also on the same board as the ring of light. which only plugs into the mother board its not a part of it. i had an old RF reciever from an junk 360 i just swapped em out and was able to re Sync my controllers havent had a problem since.

A friend of mine has the same problem. He gave me his Xbox to see what I can do. I noticed that my wired Guitar will actually show that it is player 1 but the xbox doesn't show that. I want to try a wired 360 controller and see what happens. Play and charge kit will not help as it only charges the battery, it does not send info to and from the xbox. When the wired guitar is hooked up I can navigate the menus and such but trying to play a game other then a music game is impossible.

This might help you connect your wireless controller to your console: As you did, you turn on both your console and your controller. Now, there is a button shaped like this, similarly, 0 ))) that is on your controller. There is another one like that on your console, that is next to the power button and is a bit larger. @unicorngamer Another suggest is that you can go to Gamestop and buy a wired controller. I do not use wireless remotes anymore. I found out that they can break faster, eat up all your AA batteries, and cost a lot more.

unplug the system. plug it back in, Try again, then it still don't connect. Kick the X-box controller out your window an get a new one. if it is new, save up for a new x-box.
just figured out how to make my controller work after a power surge and lost connection. Unplug your power supply in the back of the console for 10 seconds or so, then re-power up the xbox 360 and it should work fine. This is the only thing that has worked on my system, thank God... If you havnt figured it out yet. Turn your xbox 360 on. Hold the sync button on the xbox 360 until the spinning wheels go away. Unplug your power. Unplug hard drive for 1 minute. Put hard drive in, then power, and it should work.
Did any of you know one of the huge main reasons the disks get scratched is because it gets set on its side? When you put the xbox on its side the disk has a way higher chance of wobbling and getting scratched.

HI dude dont worry i just had the same problem mine just kept flashing until i took the battries out so heres what to do...
first turn on the controller
then turn the xbox console on
straight after press the sync button on the console
after that keep pressing the sync button on the controller
if the console gives up searching for a remote press the sync button on the console again while still repeatedly pressing the sync button on the controller
I calld them and fixed it with their help they. told me how to fix it. took about 20 min's an the last thing she said was to try puting in any game disk and try an sync your controller and it workd for me
I had same prob jsut fixed it this second. Turn console on. Press that lil button that has the same symbol on as the lil button on the controller on your consol then press it on the controller as well and then turn your controller on while still pressing the littl ebutton on your controller. Worked for me. Try it a few times if it doesnt work and just generally fiddle about with those two buttons.
I had the same problem yesterday after putting my 360 back together after doing the 12v fan mod. I found my problem was that the AV connector in the back of the 360 wasn't in properly, so I pushed it back in and all is well.
If that doesn't work make sure that the batteries in the controller are good, otherwise the machine will need to be sent back to Microsoft for repair work.

Dear all veiwers, as you must know my xbox was and has been repaired for the the last 8 months and has worked fine ever since, click the more info section to find the update i put up.
I got a new xbox because my old one broke, so I used my warranty at Microcenter, got a whole new box (came with new system, cords, etc). I had 2 controllers, had to give one back for the warranty, and got a new one. I use rechargable battery packs, and they don't work with my new controller, it won't connect. With my old one, it still works and connects fine, but I have to use regular batteries for my new one. Wtf? Any help would be great, send me a message please.

After several hours of reseach here is the solution: with the remote powered off, hit the reset on the console then power up controller and hold the controller reset button for two seconds while the xbox console is still resetting. That should work.
Err it happened to my Gh aerosmith Guitar.. I took out the cable in the back of the 360 (the one from the plug socket) then turned my 360 on withh the controlerr and BAM!! it worked

My friend had the same problem. DO what he did. He went and purchased the same xbox he already had and just switched the hard drives and change the sticker with the serial number on the back of the xbox with an exacto knife. And return it for a refund.BAM! worked for him.

If you havnt figured it out yet. Turn your xbox 360 on. Hold the sync button on the xbox 360 until the spinning wheels go away. Unplug your power. Unplug hard drive for 1 minute. Put hard drive in, then power, and it should work.

Did any of you know one of the huge main reasons the disks get scratched is because it gets set on its side? When you put the xbox on its side the disk has a way higher chance of wobbling and getting scratched.

i've had so many fucking problems with my 360 in the past week
1. when i turn on the system, its all fuzzy and you can't see shit but i fixed that.
2. 360 won't read discs
3.controller shuts off when i die or even at random times

it could be that your rumbler contacts are touching you will have to get them removed.

yeah u have to hold the button on the back of the controller with 3 lines next to it and hold the little button on the xbox below memory unit B and hold it. you have to hold both of the buttons at the same time. and help! my wired one wont connect!

HI dude dont worry i just had the same problem mine just kept flashing until i took the battries out so heres what to do...
first turn on the controller
then turn the xbox console on
straight after press the sync button on the console
after that keep pressing the sync button on the controller
if the console gives up searching for a remote press the sync button on the console again while still repeatedly pressing the sync button on the controller

I had same prob jsut fixed it this second. Turn console on. Press that lil button that has the same symbol on as the lil button on the controller on your consol then press it on the controller as well and then turn your controller on while still pressing the littl ebutton on your controller. Worked for me. Try it a few times if it doesnt work and just generally fiddle about with those two buttons.

I had the same problem yesterday after putting my 360 back together after doing the 12v fan mod. I found my problem was that the AV connector in the back of the 360 wasn't in properly, so I pushed it back in and all is well.
If that doesn't work make sure that the batteries in the controller are good, otherwise the machine will need to be sent back to Microsoft for repair work.

mines is a Brand new console....Only opened it two days ago, connected my wireless controller and it worked fine... Turned it on this morning and i've spent two veery stressful hours trying to get the thing to connect... I got a new xbox because my old one broke, so I used my warranty at Microcenter, got a whole new box (came with new system, cords, etc). I had 2 controllers, had to give one back for the warranty, and got a new one. I use rechargable battery packs, and they don't work with my new controller, it won't connect. With my old one, it still works and connects fine, but I have to use regular batteries for my new one. Wtf? Any help would be great, send me a message please.

After several hours of reseach here is the solution: with the remote powered off, hit the reset on the console then power up controller and hold the controller reset button for two seconds while the xbox console is still resetting. That should work.

Err it happened to my Gh aerosmith Guitar.. I took out the cable in the back of the 360 (the one from the plug socket) then turned my 360 on withh the controlerr and BAM!! it worked

My friend had the same problem. DO what he did. He went and purchased the same xbox he already had and just switched the hard drives and change the sticker with the serial number on the back of the xbox with an exacto knife. And return it for a refund.BAM! worked for him.
