  • That looked like it was flown perfectly. Pitch attitude looked perfect throughout, angle of attack looked well in control the whole time.

Many people die in the base to final turn, when they get too slow and/or pull too hard in the turn. This video is a GREAT example of precise maneuvering, low to the ground, while doing NEITHER of those things.

I like how the roll out on final was perfect aligned with the runway, too...great job reading the turn and staying ahead of the airplane.

  • Glad it went well for you. Looks to me, though, like this is best described as a way to end up in the NTSB accident database in 60 seconds or less.

  • @jsharpminor

This video was shot as my wife was practicing to land later that day at Mexican Mountain dirt airstrip. It is located on a river surrounded by cliffs. The pattern is low and tight, unless you want to die, you practice until you KNOW you can do it every time. It is best to practice in a save environment, not in the canyon where it is your life if you cant make your bush plane do what it was built to do. Low and slow is not dangerous, pilots that don't practice before they go are.

  • @jsharpminor can you specifically point out what it was that was dangerous about this flight? I'm not seeing it.

  • great video, great flying !

  • Great video! Thanks.
