Even in the beginning of synthesis there were people who were really addicted to the technology behind making music, and addicted to upgrading their studio to the max. That's what you still see today, I have a desk stuffed with (drum)synth's and I use them all. I make techno too (just jam sessions) and the technology helps improving the sounds... Making music IS technology and theory... But the feeling is most important.

lots of machines but...
...sounds are so old that he's not developing something really new.
So, if I have to play all that old samples that come from drum machines i would use different softwares/machines.
Richie Hawtin/Plastikman is dead and passed.
