Tried...it works fine..i think we really have to understand the rules of addition when we r multiplying higher numbers with another higher number..like i could not figure out how to do 3672 x 3672...
Hmm, very interesting method, although I'd like to see it done with a pair of very large random numbers. Also, I thought the symmetry of 123x321 was a poor choice for a demonstration.
this is crap -- he is doing graphically what we do numerically ........unless u are a monkey who cant remember simple tables, this is a total waste of time and effort....
@thekapinjaluknow I think the idea here is to convey the fact that math is an art and how it can be taught artistically and not involve memorizing tables.
You could always do it recursively. Just multiply the first pair using this method, then multiply that product with the third number. Although I wonder if it could be extended to a three-dimensional space...
simple we carry the 1 across because it belongs to a higher number placement. for example: 78 = 78 ones OR 7 tens and 8 ones, whereby 7 is the higher number placement.
This is one very "sassy" video. =p

dose not work for numbers like 98 X 76. i tried it... and its time consuming for more than 3 digit numbers.

I will take that back. This method works great..i got it to work for 3672 x 3672 as well..i was doing incorrect additions.

tell me how did you do it? i didn't get the right answer...

ahh but what if there were 3 or more multiplying numbers?

@meanleanchris96 Why, you'd just have to find a three-dimensional piece of paper.
