So if you have been in the AFROTC , after you get out of college is this what you will be doing ?if someone could answer my question please that would be great .thanks ! :)
does everyone in AFROTC get sent to field training or does it depend on your major? i am currently a senior in high school and have applied for the scholarship. however, after watching videos like these, i am uncertain of how i would perform especially being female. does anyone have any tips or advice?
@themilitarybratt Between you're Junior and Senior year of college, you attend Field Training, where your leadership abilities, physical aptitude, and overall intelligence are tested and documented. After Field Training, you receive a Commanders Ranking, and that plays into your chances of obtaining your desired career in the Air Force. Being female can be a major advantage for certain career paths, but not others, so I am unable to answer that part of your post.
@pilot495 You go between your sophomore and junior year, and you have a commanders ranking your entire time in AFROTC. Also, being female doesn't have anything to do with anything unless it comes to a combat unit (Combat Control/PJ/TACP/ALO) where females are not allowed by law. All other career fields it makes not difference whether you're male or female.
im just thinkin back to BMT now and I rem in our first week we had two guys threaten suicide and 3 guys piss their pants. Im sure the suicide guys were just BSing to get out though. our second week another guy pissed his pants. Thats actually pretty common in basic though every single flight has at least 2 guys piss themselves in zero week. I rem our nightly briefing at the end of zero week our TI was like "So who hasn't shit yet?" and none of us realized but none of us did until week 1 lol
b/c stress can do some crazy stuff to your mind and body. You are constantly hydrating (at least 12 full canteens a day) and so stressed all the time your body just starts doing things it normally never would. Plus you're SO exhausted during zero week I dont thinking even your body saying 'i have to pee' could wake you up. not to mention most ppl are scared to ask to use the latrine (at first) unless they are ordered to take a latrine break
the stupidity of your comment is apparent in your lack of spelling (skies; not skys) and second, you can't read the title? Its an orientation. And third, these kids balance school with ROTC and do 4 years of it BEFORE starting their active duty. So why dont you leave your comments out of this buddy
@805cn lol ok sorry about misspelling skies my mind was probably elsewhere while I was typing. you think that since its an orientation it should be easier? you apparently lack any military experience whatsoever. any active duty personnel can tell you that the military is a lifestyle not a job meaning you are constantly balancing the mountain high piles of things they ask you to do (in ur free time) while performing your duty.
@805cn oh yea the word "and" is a conjunction word. meaning it is used to connect two phrases or clauses, and it is never used as the first word in a sentence. i just figured I would let you know since we are nitpicking eachother internet grammar :D
@805cn one more thing... there IS a reason the enlisted force (in ALL branches) generally have a much higher respect for those that have become officers AFTER they experienced enlisted lifestyle. these kids are probably all going to go on to do great things as Air Force leaders, but that respect is something they will never have.
@KrisWiggly Dude, the leader of the skies are not only trained like this. This is showing mostly fun stuff. Not the classes that teach you how to lead. This is mostly for recruiting purposes. They also do field training during the summer of the sophmore year.
Wow im putting in a package for ROTC next year... im enlisted right now, and WOW. What a cakewalk lol these kids have it so ez. No yelling, their marching is terrible, no stress at all. That was seriously orientation?... PIZZA?! lol i would love to see this flight in front of the snake pit

Wow, so that's where my "leaders" come from....

I laughed when I saw the differences between the POC/FTP bus and the IMT bus.
I like the canteens as well. The extra standardization they provide looks neat while marching.
