  • Engineering and they're still a bunch of incompetent retards?

    GG.

  • i like his round house kick

  • How did I get here from looking at chatroulette pranks?

  • that idiot why did he make so many to start?

  • The guy said "*This is a parody video for fun. Hope you enjoy!*"

    Mythbuster-fine-print-reading FAIL!

  • A-M-P-L-I-F-I-C-A-T-I-O-N?!

  • for people that think this would work go do some research on magnetic fields.

it is indeed a speaker of sorts... but is it efficient or effective? not even noticeably. what kind of magnetic field do you think is created across a dead shorted penny, from a portable cd player? one that cant even vibrate the air enough for you to even hear it.

  • Putting both ends of the cable on the penny just forms a short-circuit which can ruin whatever device you have it plugged in to. Would suck if you fry your PC's audio chipset, so if you feel the need to test it yourself try it with a cheap MP3 player.

  • $10 each? Quit shopping at Best Buy, Tory.

  • @llIIIlIIllIIIlIIlllI I was thinking the same thing, you have to strip the ends so that the "copper" ACTUALLY touches the penny!! Thats why it didnt work, everytime i strip headphones and plug speakers they dont work because the coppers not showing

  • I don't see how this could work, there should be 2 magnets for this to work.

Aluminum is not magnetic, and some serious current is needed to make any noticeable electromagnetism.

  • @ICEGTN +1

  • There's no way that would ever work, you can't put enough power into a penny with just a headphone jack to give it any electromagnetism, and that's the only way that would move.

  • Almost made a componet of an inertia dampener though. Nice stumble and bail.

  • lol fail hes doing it wrong ._.

  • @TheJonesnw how should he have done it?

  • @123456789robbie You know Im going to watch the org. video and try it myself (Still have low hopes of it working) but I don't think he did it right. Because he put both wire's on the penny also prob didn't have enough power( I think one make SURE the wire was exposed and put one end on the foil and one end on the penny then try it with the CD player and if that didn't work I would try with a idk a stereo system or something. but ill try it =]

  • Anyone with even a small amount of knowledge of electronics knows that this won't work

  • fail

  • aloominum

  • JUST LIKE THE TOP COMMENT SAYS, HE DIDN'T REMOVE THE THIN ENAMEL INSULATION FROM THE CABLES. UR SUPPOSED TO BURN IT OFF!!!!

  • Click on View all comments. hold CTRL and F until search box appears.type in household hacker...your welcome.

  • Weird, my friend made one of these 5 years ago, worked fine. The sound was really low, but it worked.

  • I was about to try this.

  • Pick up those pennies!!!!

  • Household Hacker recommends that you shine the penny in ketchup or a vinegar-salt combo. Also, I recommend that you try each speaker you made. Maybe that one was just a little messed up. Maybe one of the wires wasn't connecting properly. Wires not connecting properly gets annoying quickly when attempting to make something electronic.

  • hello nipple peircing video

  • I like his freakout at the end

  • ten dollars each for mini jacks???? go to a different store !!!

  • @karelenhenkie666 I say, what sort of jack did he get, gold?

ffs, they ruin it all with BS like this. 50 cents a jack, where its needed..if that.

    damn wankers... lol

  • i meen i like myth busters and all but why you trolling house hold hacker but i think kipkay all the way :)

  • Household Hacker is nothing special, you can literally learn more from a biology book than from them.

  • Just buy some Bose!!!!!! :-)

  • @speedfreak696969

    Bose is bad

  • does a normal plate work

  • HouseholdHacker is a good channel. This twas a trollin

  • @xXSamPlummerXx @rekorc10 I don't think you actually know what trolling is

  • Household Hacker won when they got on Mythbusters :P

  • Even with a good connection you are only temporarily shorting out the milliwatt amplifier in the CD player. Normal average speakers work by causing a coil connected to a paper or plastic cone and having that coil to move in a magnetic field vibrating the air near it. There isnt anything to cause the foil/ diaphram to move, therefore no sound.

  • HouseholdHacker YouTube is a load of crap, never cared for that guys videos.

  • @smikules its all about kipkay :p

  • @MrAlexFlynn ikr

  • I would have tested one before i made more speakers...

  • Household hacker is on tv

  • you put the mini jacks in the wrong position like in the video

one end at the bottom one at the top

  • WHY DOESN'T IT WORK?

You have to BURN THE ENDS OFF IN THE HEADPHONE CABLE OR IT WON'T WORK.

THUMBS UP SO PEOPLE CAN DO THIS MYTH ALL OVER AGAIN

  • @llIIIlIIllIIIlIIlllI but the instruction in the video doesnt say anything about that, now did they?

  • @uptop84 he did not use regular or liquid electrical tape and solder the wires to the shiny penny

  • @llIIIlIIllIIIlIIlllI Cool name

  • Why doesn't it work? two reasons:

    1) Attaching two wires to a penny forms a short circuit. It is not possible for anything to happen.

    2) In order to get movement: you need a coil and a magnet.

look up how speakers are made.

    GLUK (GOODLUCK)

  • @ectobilly99 I;m trolling

  • @llIIIlIIllIIIlIIlllI are you stupid or just plain stupid?

  • @llIIIlIIllIIIlIIlllI Tory first needs to learn how the electricity flows, the wires he has connection is just wrong, he has left signal with negative wrapped together and right signal with negative wrapped together, which just short circuits the output from the CD player (just as someone mention in comments below) and like you said there is a coating on the wires on the left right and both negatives to prevent the short circuiting between the wires, just use the right or left + and one - wire.

  • google.com/search?q=mini-jack+cables&tbm=shop

Mini-jack to mini-jack cables starting from $4. You can even cut them in half and use one for two speakers, so $2 a speaker, plus paper plates and aluminum foil.

  • 2:55 best part

  • parody!

  • you make it wrong! i made it and it work. just play 16 bit sound and play just like normal speaker. do not play 64 sound(HD with instrumental sound and singer). you need a COPPER wired jack! not colored wired (mini jack) cause it just make it not work.....

  • "Maybe all these speakers in parallel are lowering the impedance" OMG keep talking sweet sexy babe

  • fail

  • dissapointed by lack of simon and garfunkel jokes

  • Wheres the magnet? Nowhere to be seen. No magnet no sound. I actually know how to make speakers and it will cost atleast $20 if you got the materials already. All together about $50. Legit Speakers.

  • i tried to make this.... then when it didnt work, i went back to the vid and it said to look at this vid. i wasted some headphones

  • Alot of the ppl who watched the household hacker video were to stupid to read the thing that said parody. Lol stupid ppl amuse me.

  • FUUUUK I tried it!

  • ....maybe the penny was not shiny enough xD haha

  • you hear that? thats the sound of money blown away.....hahahahahaha :p

  • they basically just shorted out the speaker leads

  • HouseholdHacker sucks.

  • Wait, lowering the impedance? Wouldn't that make the sound come through EASIER?

  • i did one and it worked somehow

  • read the description in household hacker -.-

  • The dude's a class A troll, i gotta hand it to him.

  • but HH used a bowl type of paper plate.

  • He said toward the center dummy! :D

  • House hold hackers plate was on a table though that dudes was in the air

  • the speakers need a power supply of their own maybe

  • Hey, masonic assholes, the speakers from the movies you inspired, have coils and magnets exactly like a regular speaker, and really work and you deliberately manipulate the people with all your free energy fake projects, beeing payed by the big brother companies. How about the myth that you are assholes forever? Seems to be the real naked truth! Sell the planet for your dirty cash, assholes!

  • @johnnyaum3 Hey, I think you could use a good ole' douche. Because you seem to have some sand in your vagina.

  • where did you get that kind of minijack?

  • HHH said place the penny somewhere near the center, this guy put it dead center, maybe thats why it didn't work.

  • I think he purposely blew this experiment.

  • 10$ for a mini jack..when u can get a headset for 1$ . nice. u been busted, lol

  • thumbs up if you clicked view all comments and searched HouseholdHacker :D

  • LOL...

  • Yeah, you did it wrong xD

  • HAHAHA ! HOW NICE ? XD

  • second you need to connect it right you didnt put a correctly wires and third you didnt used a deep enough plate ! You need to emulate a membrane and plate is conductive but not too much ...

You need a paper not a very hard paper or cardboard as you use it cannot vibrate you freak did you ever open speaker i opened thousands and many of them have a paper Tweeter ! Oh yeah Tweeter is the name of hi speaker and better material for Tweeter and membrane better sound !

  • Do you want to listen to a real guru !

I might advise ya or might pulverise ya

Listen you are sort of a human that i like to bneat and killl you fuckin bastard !

Why you didnt wasted those minutes to explain why it works or why it not work !

Ok you are now get my attention but that is bad for you cause i'm gonna myth bust you !

I'm a acoustic physics graduate and also expert in electronics !

Why you keeping a plate without a table under it ?

It need to firstly stand horizontally !

  • Did you guys even do the update of what householdhacker said

  • when i saw this 1st, i didnt care.

but now im in electronics in highschool. and im laughing my ass off.

  • here is how yo really do it

    /watch?v=EIbzQ_8-aaM

  • Lol I tried this before watching mythbusters video first haha I'm a dumass

  • @daiyumn me too

  • householdhacker is famous for being on mythbusters all hte time with his testin on crap

    which doesnt work

  • u embarased ur self in front of the lady, bust this myth: ur a virgin!

  • the mini jack's wires are enameled

  • I have that same splitter, they're sweet

  • Are they actually stupid?

The H.Hacker video clearly said in the description that it was a parody video, just for fun.

  • @williamblakeism im sure he added that AFTER the fact that he got called out for bs lol this aired years ago dude

  • This isn't a myth... they seriously need to learn what a myth is...

  • $10 for a minijack? What the hell did you do, have to fly to Nepal to pick them up?

  • @winwinningwon ur right even here in greece a mini jack costs about 1.2 euros!!!

  • @winwinningwon HEY, in Nepal its the cheapest. I would know i am from there.

  • @ronaldinho4eva1 But the flight would cost a lot. Think before you comment.

  • @winwinningwon wiresare expensive nowadays dude

  • @winwinningwon he flew to china !

  • lol is it just me or do they look like they are high or drunk?

  • he also needs to have the penny in the inside of the paper plate

  • What exactly is going to cause the tin foil to vibrate? The penny ain't gonna shake itself just cuz it's hooked up to a voltage, you need a magnet.

  • Er uhm worked a bit for me lol. Made like a bit of sound but not really like how householdhacker showed.

  • 13x10=130+13=133 for surround sound? doesnt sound rite

  • @HouseholdHacker No Fuck Off

  • @HouseholdHacker sucks.

  • :( he forgot to mention you need tape

  • what did you think would hapen seriously

    a limp paper plate

    mashed up foil

    un-soldered contacts

    no wire coil

    no fixed magnet

i mean who actually expected this to work

  • may be your problem is that you did not watch the video and missed a step or you did something wrong

  • The best part of videos that disprove householdhacker stuff is when people come in trying to say that it's supposed to work and they did it wrong.

  • Kari is hot

  • it's a good thing they re-dub this for non us countries

  • Kari Byron <3

  • There is a company that has designed an extremely thin speaker & there was another one that sold what was basically a sheet of plastic atop a quarter inch of foam, that you could print anything on, so you could have what amounted to a framed poster or painting, that was actually a speaker, you could use two for stereo. It has nothing to do with air & everything w/ vibration

  • lol a minijack costs about 15 cents over here.

  • Hehe they say aluminium funny

    -flameshield on-

  • @MrDip02 im english and i know i can get cheap earphones for about 99p (which if i was going to chop the earpiece off i wouldnt use expensive ones) +

  • thats the sound of money being thrown away lol

  • hey! you stole my laptop at 0:53

  • The plates were not flat. The penny acts as a weight on the tin foil. The penny gives the tin foil a resistance so that the air trapped inside will push the tin forward. I proved Mythbusters was wrong. TRY AGAIN PLS!!!!

  • @UnBoundBeatz Say everything you want but this speaker will not work, resistance is so low, you are just shorting amplifier (or CD player) and ruining it

  • my life would be complete if i met the narrator for mythbusters

  • I am not lying but i made it? it worked but you couldnt hear it i just heard abunch of "foil crumpling sound"

  • i woulda liked to know what it woulda took to make a home made speaker. ps try something that gives more power? a computer a ipod a mp3 for christ sakes wtf a cd player....

  • I love her act: "what's supposed to be happening?" ʘ‿ʘ

  • Well like you're useing NORMAL speakers, you need an amplifier.. Why not call it busted when you tried it with an amp? besides its fake anyway

  • minijack for $10 each? ebay 'em from china. All of them would cost under $5 put together.

  • @TejasM14 but not a $1.00 anyway.

  • it is a DIRECT SHORT as pennies make LOUSY coils!! i suppose if you pumped 50 watts into it , you could get some crackling noise (along with the copious amounts of SMOKE!!!!) Does that make it a success? DOUBT IT.

  • Excuse Me, in the description of the video, it CLEARLY said they were just fake.

  • Speakers are electromagnets haha. This COULDN'T work.

  • @DrGand Except of course for those that use electrostatic force instead, i.e. capacitive ones. That would include the common piezoelectric buzzer and condenser microphones. Which you could build with the same materials, but this obviously wasn't it.

  • DIRECT SHORT.. that is why we have coils

  • why wouldn't he test one before making all of them, fail in time

  • oh i got a idea USE ELECTRICAL TAPE ....... :)

  • household hacker lies

  • doesn't that short when both of the wires are connected to one penny

  • The Houshold Hacker website was made by some people who wanted to prove how readily people believe absolute nonsense, when it has a "scientific" feel to it. Sadly, they were so successful that they had to stop themselves, as people were throwing piles of money at them begging for further inventions.

  • ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

  • which season and episode is this? plz reply

  • Haha I remember believing and trying this when the video first came out.

  • What a surprise.

  • every one shut up it will never works it never works and it never worked conecting left and right + , with common - and try to make it play ???? everyone whot try to make this is shit

  • IN the description of the householdhacker video it says its a spoof

  • householdhacker created 352 accounts and disliked this

  • But...will it blend?

  • Did they use a penny dated before 1985?

  • @sharpshooter740 - LOL it doesn't matter, learn how a speak works first, then you will see this is just for shit n giggles.... it obviously can't work

  • Didn't wire it correctly, didn't use a penny from 1985-ish, didn't hook it up to a PC. Not saying it works but following it completely would have helped. (Maybe)

  • OMG THE WORLD IS SO FUCKING FULL OF IGNORANTS ...... hear this" he did not wired them corectly " =))))

then you do-it corectly and when it will work i'l cut off my dick ......

now.. seriosly i'l do-it , videorecording and post a clip on youtube

  • YOu Didnt even do it right.....Networks hating you put both wires on the same side of the penny you noob

  • Fuckin Hater He did it completly wrong

  • ok you did everything right but wiring the penny!:P

    1. you have to have the wires way closer together almost touching.

    2. you have to place the wires on abes head side with 1/2 an inch sticking out.

    3. tape the tails side not the heads.

4.put into a jack and rock out.

  • penny is wired incorrectly, penny not old enough, and you can get a 3.5mm jack for way less than a dollar from a pair of generic crappy chinese headphones

  • wait, i don't think householdhacker taped the both side on the penny.....

  • Busted, along with the myth that he can dance.

  • i bought a minijack in mexico for 12 pesos...not 10 dollars

  • penny has to be made b4 1985

  • the terrorists win again. a little critical thought could have avoided that.

  • So am gessing it didnt work ? huh?

  • Ur supposed to put one of the wire's under the penny

  • he should have made 1 and tested it out before making 13 of them

  • you guy did it wrong

  • You can buy a jack for about 50 cents. -_-

  • i bet he forgot to put in a cd :P

  • can't they do this one!! watch?v=A4CH_8iYZoo
