could it be used to make a gun? drilling recievers etc?

It is a timely and expensive task to cut all the parts out of high grade steel blocks to make a single gun.
You would be better off makeing a crossbow since it has 3 to 4 parts and the bowstring.

I've spent about 300 hours and $1300 working on this project. The software that drives the CNC is Mach3.
