The J train is elevated from just before it goes over the Williamsburg Bridge all the way to Richmond Hill, Queens where it dips back underground for its last two stops. That's a total of 21 elevated stops.

For all the Bronx trains though. The 1 train is elevated from the Broadway Bridge in Manhattan to 242nd and Broadway in the Bronx. The 4 train comes out of the ground just before passing Yankee Stadium and stays above all the way to Woodlawn. The 2 and 5 train comes above ground before Jackson Avenue and the 6 train comes above ground after Hunts Point Avenue.
