  • I want someone to watch Beat Street and Style Wars so that they can tell me the exact stops seen in the movie.

I can't make them out since the DVD'S are not that clear because they are old movies.

  • @josecitomadera mee too i wanna start tagging trains even though its paint proof fuck that and does anybody know where i can find dykman street in the 80's you know the area around kings bridge

  • You should have been there in 1985, then you could talk about bad neighborhoods, LOL!

  • The J train is elevated from just before it goes over the Williamsburg Bridge all the way to Richmond Hill, Queens where it dips back underground for its last two stops. That's a total of 21 elevated stops.

  • That's a total of 22 elevated stops, not 21.

  • Geez I was off by one stop and doing it off the top of my head, sue me.

  • You don't have to make a big deal out of it, fucker. All I did, is that I corrected you, Punk.

  • You made a big deal out of it not me

  • You did, ya dicktard!

  • Yeah let's make a big deal of it I was off by one stop on a train that I rarely use.

  • You did, ya dick!

  • lol you are still making a big deal over this by replying to me.

  • Lol.

  • if im not mistaken the J train runs mostly above ground and it makes a lot more than 14 elevated stops.

So that must be the areas in which the film BEAT STREET was filmed. I want to check those areas out to find the exact abandoned buildings and see if they are abandoned or not. I want to see how the infrastructure has changed in 23 years when BEAT STREET was first filmed. ThanX

  • Is the J train an irt subway? if im not mistaken the J train runs mostly above ground and it makes a lot more than 14 elevated stops.

  • no, IRT lines are numbered lines. lettered lines are BMT/IND. the J is part of the BMT and the old jamaica el

  • ..to many people

  • For all the Bronx trains though. The 1 train is elevated from the Broadway Bridge in Manhattan to 242nd and Broadway in the Bronx. The 4 train comes out of the ground just before passing Yankee Stadium and stays above all the way to Woodlawn. The 2 and 5 train comes above ground before Jackson Avenue and the 6 train comes above ground after Hunts Point Avenue.

  • So that must be the areas in which the film BEAT STREET was filmed. I want to check those areas out to find the exact abandoned buildings and see if they are abandoned or not. I want to see how the infrastructure has changed in 23 years when BEAT STREET was first filmed. ThanX

  • u tuk a video of that? lmfao i live near yankee stadium i c it everyday

  • wow there nothing like being home and taking the 4 train everyday and pass yankee stadium awesome

  • I <3 NY

  • Where in the S. Bronx are the trains above ground as compared to the Grand Concourse area where the trains are below ground?

  • all the IRT lines in the Bronx are above ground

  • IRT, so which lines in THE BRONX are below ground. Doesn't the train (below ground) that is coming from Manhattan which has a stop at Grand Concourse go above ground at some point?

  • yeah, something like that

  • all irt subway lines go underground after making about 14 stops above ground

  • The stop at 149th and Grand Concourse is the last one that's underground on a Woodlawn 4 train. It becomes elevated just before passing Yankee Stadium.

  • Wow. Railfans :). I used to be one as well. Love the Millennium trains (silver ones). Especially the 2/5 version. The 4/6 version never sounded right due to made by a different company.

  • The B and D trains run under ground and follow the Concourse all the way to Norwood.

  • nyc is the greatest place in the world!!

  • i used to live in the bronx and take the subway i used to hate to crowded just used to hate that why i moved out of the bronx

  • was living there expensive?

  • nah it's all good. i have a friend in the bx and we hang on the block sometimes and it's cool. i never ran into any trouble. although, if you look for it you will get it. new york isn't as bad as it used to be.

  • never forget the old bx (719)

  • Its 718 area code. Unless your talking about before the late 80's.

  • Yes you were probably smart to do that! That is the South Bronx! I think the train is going uptown and entering the 167th Street Station? The quality of the video appears to be good even as you are capturing a moving object.

  • this isnt the south bronx

  • A nice capture of the 4 train when they were using the R-62 cars!

  • they still do but rarely
