@LChris6 because he was the top heel in the company ... it would've looked stupid if Kurt Angle (at the time) was giving Triple H orders ... he had no power backstage in 2000
@LChris6 that's like nowadays Cena since he's the champ , telling the Undertaker what to do if they teamed up ... it would look fucking stupid .... Triple H was the mastermind for half the feuds that was going on at the time anyway
The only storyline that HHH was the mastermind in at the time was getting Austin ran down. Around this the central focus was on the championship which Kurt Angle had and the HIAC where the match took place in. That's why I said HHH bossing Angle around here looked stupid as hell.
@LChris6 Umm, HHH ordered the hit on Stone Cold (storyline 1) .. he payed Rikishi to do it & orginally blamed it on The Rock (storyline 2), the PPV before (Survivor Series) the championship match with him & Taker was dead in the middle, the divas match was even later then that, The HHH/Austin match was last Kurt's gimmick would've made it look wierd for him to be ordering HHH, the same guy who "took Austin out", was the face of the company that year & was making him his bitch prior to all this
All that is 1 storyline, it involved the 4 of them. They just had 2 separate matches off of it, that's all. HHH wasn't anywhere close to the "face of the company" that year, Stephanie was still a heel so HHH was considered a tweener if anything at the time. Again I know that Angle's character was a dork, but it still seemed weird that HHH was telling the champion what to do. HHH also happened to be the last man standing in the ring the following Smackdown after this.
@LChris6 if you don't think Triple was the top dude in the WWF that year then you should just stop commenting....umm no it's not 1 story-line...it started from one then stretched out to another...umm HHHgot loud pops before he turned hell look at any of his matches between September & early November of that year...ok it wouldn't have made sense for a dork champion to be telling someone like HHH at that time to do...well it builded suspense that's what their suppose to do..leave you guessing
He was considered a "top dude" because Austin and Undertaker were out for most of the time. When Austin and Taker were around in 1999 HHH used to get his ass handed to him almost every week and he never really dominated the show, then both leave and he gets pushed like he was invincible. And if you watched then, it started with Rock/Austin/Rikishi as part of the storyline then HHH got involved and it just turned to HHH/Austin, so it was just 1 storyline.
And he got pops, but as long as Stephanie was still a heel he was never a complete face. And I never said Angle should've told HHH what to do, I said HHH shouldn't be telling him what to do since he was the champion.
@LChris6 Stephanie was with Kurt more during this time ... making it easier to like him .... until December you really didn't see them together unless it was backstage segements ... it's happened more when a champion was being told what to do by someone higher than him
Well then now we know why many thought Angle was a "lameduck champion" during his first reign. He was the champion yet HHH bossing him around and Angle did nothing about it. I don't recall Angle being bossed around during his last few title reigns, do you?
@LChris6 basically his personailty changed around late 2001/2002 ... he became more of an intense wrestler & talker .... if it was in 2002 ... sure Kurt could've been calling the shots
Yeah you're right. But still I just didn't like the way HHH was made out to be invincible almost every show around this time, he was also the last man standing the following Smackdown after this and we can't forget the classic where he returned only a week after the car incident at Survivor Series with not a single scratch on him.
@LChris6 huh? that Survivor Series match with Austin he had little to no offense .. it was basically 20 minutes of Austin beating the shit out of Triple H
I didn't say the match, I meant when he returned just 8 days later. With the exception of that one Survivor Series match from the span of his heel turn in early November through Armageddon in the Hell in the Cell, HHH came out on top in every show.
@Mattysacco The Undertaker was the last man to come in the back after giving McMahon the Last Ride. Remember 1. Austin give Vince the stunner and went, Rock came and give him the Rock Bottom, then Taker came. So yeah when they went to the back thats when they got their ass kick. Thats how Taker looks like he was standing because he was the last to get jumped on.
sunday on pai per view i love how he said that man the attitude era is the shit man the best fucking era in the all wwe yeah this is the shit man fucking best thing ever
triple h is always a pusssy and always jumping people with a gang , rikishi and angle their even worse , always kissing ass! is there a match after this , if stone cold the rock and taker teamed up? aganst those faggets? ahaha ANYONE
This is how you end an event. With an intensity and the annoucers providing questions that all fans want answered as well. If there was an attack like this on RAW now, the annoucers would just sit there and stay quiet like they saw a murder. Come on damn bring some life into the story line and get people amped to tune in next week. Jesus.
i wonder what the "assault" that Rikishi's sons made on the Hart Dyansty wouldve looked like if it were TV-14...i mean THIS video is an assault...this is how its done...not no damn couple punches, a double team, then we all do the Superfly off the top rope
Man, at this time I liked it when JR was commentating cus he got all into the action and he'll have u all in the action with excitment and he'll make you feel like MAN whats gonna happen next. Now he souds all calmed and just laid back. I cant wait for JR to return to smackdown cus Matt Striker & Todd Grisham suck at commentating right now.
yeah, the fights were not exactly more convincing, but they had things like actual weapons and a serious tone to them that you really can't do in today's PG shit.
cant rememeber if this was wen rikishi ran over austin and killed his carrer?? story writers shouldnt of done that 2 him, and should of left him face
