The only storyline that HHH was the mastermind in at the time was getting Austin ran down. Around this the central focus was on the championship which Kurt Angle had and the HIAC where the match took place in. That's why I said HHH bossing Angle around here looked stupid as hell.

@LChris6 Umm, HHH ordered the hit on Stone Cold (storyline 1) .. he payed Rikishi to do it & orginally blamed it on The Rock (storyline 2), the PPV before (Survivor Series) the championship match with him & Taker was dead in the middle, the divas match was even later then that, The HHH/Austin match was last Kurt's gimmick would've made it look wierd for him to be ordering HHH, the same guy who "took Austin out", was the face of the company that year & was making him his bitch prior to all this

All that is 1 storyline, it involved the 4 of them. They just had 2 separate matches off of it, that's all. HHH wasn't anywhere close to the "face of the company" that year, Stephanie was still a heel so HHH was considered a tweener if anything at the time. Again I know that Angle's character was a dork, but it still seemed weird that HHH was telling the champion what to do. HHH also happened to be the last man standing in the ring the following Smackdown after this.

He was considered a "top dude" because Austin and Undertaker were out for most of the time. When Austin and Taker were around in 1999 HHH used to get his ass handed to him almost every week and he never really dominated the show, then both leave and he gets pushed like he was invincible. And if you watched then, it started with Rock/Austin/Rikishi as part of the storyline then HHH got involved and it just turned to HHH/Austin, so it was just 1 storyline.

But still I just didn't like the way HHH was made out to be invincible almost every show around this time, he was also the last man standing the following Smackdown after this and we can't forget the classic where he returned only a week after the car incident at Survivor Series with not a single scratch on him.

Austin give Vince the stunner and went, Rock came and give him the Rock Bottom, then Taker came. So yeah when they went to the back thats when they got their ass kick. Thats how Taker looks like he was standing because he was the last to get jumped on.
