I love this book. Read it when I was 16.5. It kept my overactive and (easily bored) brain engaged with it's vocabulary and complexity of concepts, the majority of which are implied rather than discussed within the text specifically. The ending was painful, in that it just...ended. As if the book was originally twice as large and someone just split it down the middle. I haven't read the sequel, but I hear it's not quite up to par. I plan on reading this one again, however.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's my favorite book of all time! Everyone should read it! But be forewarned, it features very complicated vocabulary and varying character development speeds. The plot twists in this book are hard hitting and mostly unexpected. This book gives you a very good view on what went on in that time; 'tis eye opening.
@SomeGuyOnFirefox How can you think that this was a terrible book? It's won endless awards for how insightful, well-written, and intriguing it is. If you think that it was a waste of time than maybe you just don't understand it. But just because you are too lazy or weak-minded to understand the book doesn't give you a right to hate on it. Same goes for coughdrep.
octavion himself was not born in africa. princess cassopia was taken from africa while she was pregnant with octavion. sir, i ask you to please get your facts straight
the book's story is great, but it takes way too much just to convey the basic plot. which makes it boring to read. there's too many pointless parts you don't really need to know.
