  • gyönyörűű <3

  • beautiful song...sooo mystic..it reminds me witches' meeting

  • fuck, i'm in love...<3

  • The text is taken from an ancient Celtic tablet and it is written by someone who wants to throw a curse to some Roman guys through god Mapon.

  • isen't this song from assasins creed 2 and brotherhood?

  • This fucking song has got to be the greatest thing I have ever heard in my life. I've listened to it like twenty times in a row, memorized the lyrics, studied the original Gaulish text, and generally lost myself inside of it. Seriously, how have I known of Eluveitie for so long and never heard this song!?

  • the girls wrote this whilst drunk!! I CANT DO SHIT DRUNK!!

  • I would give everything to unterstand the lyrics in gaulish..........

  • The best Eluveitie's song!

  • this song was written after 1.5 liters of gim tonic... hehe

  • We need to rewrite this old Curse and throw in some names of todays big Bankers and corrupt politicians.

  • @Jenult Wonderful idea. I'll suggest it to my clan and prepare everything to do it this summer for the feast of Lugus. Hope we will be able to take enough stuff to record it correctly in the forest where our nemeton is located...

  • @Nedhno Excellent :) I'm so glad there's other pagans around. Take care

  • @Nedhno Hey, i have been looking into paganism lately and am wondering how one joins a clan, and where one meets with their clan? thanks.

  • @awesomeakki17 Depends where you live, and what pagan tradition you want to follow... My clan is located near Paris, France, and we worpship the Gaulish deities. I read some day there were small Slavic pagan groups in Serbia. Maybe if you can contact fans of the "pagan" bands The Stone and Samrt you can find out something ?

  • @Nedhno I don't understand what you mean when you say that they are right winged and anyway thanks for the advice, i'm just looking towards trying something new really, I don't know much

  • @awesomeakki17 And, well... Some Slavic pagans tend to be quite right-winged. Maybe you don't want to be with this sort of persons.

  • Das Ende ist so geil!

So genial! So hammer! Und der Übergang zum nächsten Lied, wenn man original die CD hört xD

  • perfect song, perfect band, perfect singer, perfect religion :)

  • @dragmirex17 well, again, that is an extremely small number of people.

Hey, I'm pretty sure some people still worship Zeus, but no one's going to say the Greek Religion is still alive.

I know it's not a small minority either, but it is small compared to the 3 main religions... GAAH damnit I go sucked into this conversation again. I do like discussing religions, but everything has its own time and place. An Eluveitie video is not the place to do that. Anyways, there you have my POV

  • Wonderful old tuneful Gallic ~Celtic incantation during the Gallo-Roman time in Gaul & Helvetia.

  • dead religion huh? well only because roman catholic armies came and destroyed almost all my people so they could take our land and resources!

  • @AnnovaMoon indeed , times have changed quite a lot.

  • perfect... they're amazing...

  • Amazing band.

You can just feel the culture in their songs, it's just amazing.

  • THIS SONG IS EPIC AND IF YOU DISAGREE THEN GO F*CK YOUR PATHETIC SELF!!!!

  • @Lefteris4525 I never disagree to human sacrifice, how 'bout it? Want a slice? get it? get it?

  • Tha gra'dh agam ort Anna><"

  • This song is awesome!!!

  • A' gradh a; cadh' a sibh a tu

  • Yesterday I get this album ^^

  • This is the tenth time that I listen to this song in a row, and it still isn't enough!

  • @MrtavGavran I'm lisening this song minimum twice per day :]

  • Religion Best scam ever

  • @Falc1NL Religion came before rational thinking. Thus rational thinking must be a product of theological thinking, don't ya think? Now who just got served? You did! mmmm...want some lotion for that sore bum of yours?

  • @MrNegativeMrPositive okay.. 1. i dont understand shit from what ur saying..

    2. have you any clue what i mean 3. i wasnt ''serving'' anyone so go F urself

  • @Falc1NL 1. Religion came before logical and rational thinking, because religion has been around in many froms since long before the stonge age. 2. No because your statement lacks any kind of detailed information. 3. Learn some basic english. (No i'm not from an english speaking country so don't go with the "well i don't speak english as my first langauge" bullshit. Enjoy.

  • I just love the ending. Her Scream is AWESOME!

  • what are they saying???

  • Music is a bridge between us, not a border :)

  • @porsherider amen.

  • I did not realize this band or even folk metal existed at all until yesterday. How did I survive without this glory.

  • @StarRemnants well frankly its not mainstream bullshit so thats good

  • @StarRemnants same here, same here... life makes more sence now, doesnt it?

  • Enjoy the fucking pagan metal!

  • The fuck are we arguing about politics and religion for? Come on, people. It's MUSIC.

  • @arspaulina This is YouTube. People can't help but argue about irrelevant crap.

  • The harmonies in this song just blow my mind ^^

  • We need to replace these Roman names with International Bankers, and "representatives" from my country who are running amok with power!

  • better and better sounds this band!!!

  • It sounds like a summoning...

  • Epic song...

  • Someone said this is like Rap.

  • (I hate character limit but at least now the debate is closed :P )

  • and listen to Eluveitie ALL THE FUCKING TIME =D

  • Therefore, religion, like everything else in the society can be freed from the elites by establishing a new way of sharing ressources producted by man's economic activity, like making sure democracy would control the economy, (no, democracy does not currently control the economy. It is controled by banks and industrie's leader. ) and making the religion as a simple cultural phenomenon instead of a possessive entity. By doing this, some communities could even adopt a celtic culture

  • @maaderllin so basically you're communist... I don't like communists

  • @ForsakenThirteen No prejudice, rudeness or trolling intent in my question, I am just curious. Why don't you like communists? What is it specifically that bothers you about them?

  • @Almightyrastus Here's the thing: I am Cuban. I know Cuba can be classified as socialist and thus you might say that it does not count as communist. But the idea of everyone sharing everything, is impossible to achieve. I don't hate Communism, just the fact that some people refuse to believe it's impossible (a.k.a: Communists). It'd be nice if it could work, but it pisses me off that some people are mentally deranged and believe it can work, then they lead their country to their doom just cuz.

  • @ForsakenThirteen

You are right my friend...The whole idea of communism if very nice yes but it is an utopia...Humans just can't live like that...

  • @ForsakenThirteen I think that most peaople don't like communists. And... thats good :)

  • @ForsakenThirteen lol good! communists are filthy scum!

  • @FuckAroundFilms WOW, i=I can NOT believe you guys agreed with me. I wasn't expecting any support 0_0, I was actually expecting to get flamed by some raging kid.

  • With the neolithic revolution, the different work start to appear, and the exchange sysem starts to become more complex. At some point, private property appears, and with it, the elite society who use it's superior property to gain everyone else's. This is the beginning of the fight between social class. These elites will take control of the spiritual beliefs and establish dogma to ensure their power, hence why religion made so much bad when it was supposed to do good.

  • Society: group of individuals who, for their own survival, ally and stay together in an inter-dependance relationship. This is the basis of everything that is good or bad. "Good" is that I can survive. I, here, refers to anyone, and everyone in the society, and even the world, since war cause "me" (anyone) to die. When someone near me die, I want to make the one who did it pay, because I had a strong sentimental link and dependance relationship. This is what general good and bad is.

  • Mythology: Ancient texts that explain physical facts with surnatural forces.

Spirituality: Belief, and study of it, that there is something that is beyond physical being.

Religion: Mix of Myth and Spirituality applied to a large group that agree on the same beliefs.

Once a large group join a religious point of view, there is always people in it with leadership (often bad one) take control and create:

Dogma: group of myth and remains of spirituality imposed by leaders to their group.

  • @DestroyerOfSense001

Minorities do not count, we have yet to await for the rest of them.

  • this song is really awesome, makes me fell that I'm running with the deers into the deep forest of Avalon, it's kinda magic...

  • Many metalheads should have had enough contact with rational, secular ideas (many metal bands incorporate those in their lyrics) to come to the conclusion that religion is bullshit. Why bring up the topic here, you're preaching to the choir. Just enjoy the music. I was always of the opinion that religion, if not for anything else, is at least good for fiction and music.

  • Why are we bashing religion here. Just enjoy the goddamn music (which it's based on pagan religions), and enjoy it!

  • @ForsakenThirteen

Fun fact: "Pagan" comes from "Pagi" wich meant "small towns". Before christianism became the world's one and only religion (I'm not saying it is..just being sarcastic there), it was forbidden in the ancient Rome and its provinces, so the christianism was preached in the "Pagis", those small towns, and that ppl were called "pagans" They later used that same derogatory term to refer to any non-christian religion.

    TL;DR: FUCK YEAH, ELUVEITIE!! \m/

  • @AngelofKaos Okay, I see, but most people don't see Muslims, Buddhist, Jews, or Hindus as pagans (the ones I hang around with, anyways). I see pagan religions as dead, polytheistic religions, meaning the Roman and Greek religions, and the Gaulish religion, because they are no longer practiced (or an extremely small amount of people). You know some words lose their original meaning overtime.

  • @ForsakenThirteen That's an excellent way to view it. Pagan does indeed now mean "An adherent of a polytheistic religion in antiquity, especially when viewed in contrast to an adherent of a monotheistic religion". It did mean Non-Christian at one point, but it was never meant to be a negative term, which is why I dislike it (personally) when others get upset because of a mention of 'pagan'-- or worse, thinking that pagan means Satanistic.

  • @IStalkYourStalker Well, I;m a Catholic when people ask what I'm listening to, I say folk metal. I've had the experience of telling them it's "pagan" metal and seeing their skin crawl. That's how stupid people can be sometimes. I don't go anywhere near satanic stuff, but this is a song about a dead religion, it sounds good and doesn't offend me at all, hell yeah I'll listen to it. But somehow someone who bashed religion (any and ALL religions) got in the top comments....

  • @AngelofKaos Wow. I never knew that's how it /started/. I knew about the derogatory usage, of course, but I had always wondered where its origins lay. You've increased my knowledge; I thank you.

  • @IStalkYourStalker

I'm a law student...I had to study that for a Roman Rights midterm exam. It's always good to spread the knowledge.

  • interesting song

  • Oh god, I think I'm obsessed with this song.

    <3

  • anyone else feel like they're in a burning ritual? I love this song!!!!! <3

  • Why is there an arguement about religion on here? Just enjoy the music, and let people believe what they want. People tend to exaggerate about both religion and atheism. And both of them have brought good things to the modern world. Just believe what you want, and let people believe what they want.

  • @ScarsOfTheForgotten I think these guys got pegged as a Christian metal band in the beginning because they were on Christian (or Christian-friendly) label Fear Dark records and apparently a couple members are/were Christians. So that might explain some of the religious discussion...

  • PURE FUCKING METAL :) <3

  • Would be about time that Evocation II came out! And it better top the first one ^^ which wouldn't be easy but it would be AWESOME

  • Yahoo! has reborn...With Ancient ceremony of the Celtic.

    Kermunos bless u!!!all of u!!!

  • I always imagine this creepy chase in an ancient forest filled with mythical creatures

  • Can't wait for Evocation II

  • @AkatsukiPR0 Evocation || ? When ?

  • @ThaLastCocomber

In 2008 they announced that they would release another metal album (Everything Remains As It Never Was) and then release another folk album (Evocation II)

  • @AkatsukiPR0 Oh thanks, can't wait for Evocation II !

  • 8 people don't like the best music ever.

  • Supposedly this was a curse against the Romans....

Bloody hell it is Epic :)

  • @Gandalf4173

    Must've been effective XD

  • @ShinobiCarmacao Well they can curse me any day ;)

  • Song makes me wanta move my hips :3

  • @zyzzyx222 Wouldn't the 4th to 6th century be 400 to 600 AD? Not 1400-1600.

  • I saw the translation but I want to ask this, what does Dessumiis Luge specifically translate to?

  • Oh for gods sakes, its Gaulish, and yes, the Gauls did believe in magic, that is why they were called Druids. I wouldn't be surprised if this is supposed to sound like this

  • This song follows an old and original gallic text that is a curse to some of the roman leaders in the Gallic War.

  • in which language is this song please?

  • @shibelbeg The language is Gaulish. A now extinct Celtic language that was spoken by the Gauls during Roman times.

  • @evilmick66 And pre-roman times. The language actually pre-dates Latin.

  • @shibelbeg Gaulish

  • best album of that band...

  • this is totally amazing!!!!

  • i've got chills.. and idk why...

  • i've got chills.. and idk why...

  • This song makes me smile :D

  • With their undeniable virtuosity and taste for history they make all other folk metal bands sound like beginners. When it comes to folk there is nothing as good as Eluveitie out there. Period.

  • The title means, 'I swear an oath' in Gallic. The words are taken from scrap remnants of ancient Gaulish curse tablets (defixios).

  • Ive never felt chills from a song quite like this. This makes me feel like im running through a dark forest while being hunted by something evil. Especially at the end with the girls screaming...god its sooo creppy i love it. These guys can do both Metal and folk music soooo well its amazing. I want all their albums

  • When i hear this song i imagine someone being changed to the back of a chariot and dragged through the desert,

  • OMG i feel like the singers are circling me with the fingers pointed firmly at my face as im being tied to a stake about to be burned

  • wonderful (on it's own way evil) song :O moves me really...

  • so mythical and spiritual-i love eluveitie-so different to any other band these days...

  • this is the best eluveitie album !!!!!!

  • Wonderful music....:D

  • This song is awesome!

I'm studiing drama, and our team making a drama play about the salemi wiches. In this performance I play a saman. This song is perfect to my character!!! :):):)

  • Hello guys i need someone too translate from gualish too english espacilly this album , if someone know add me plox:)

  • Guys, isn't it a great Present, that this Band exists? I mean... with their Music they kind of bring a World into the Present which has been almost forgotten for 2000 years... and in a FUCKING EPIC WAY!

    Hails from Switzerland!!

  • @AdrianvonZiegler yeah guise

  • @AdrianvonZiegler Not 2000, Gaulish began going extinct in the 4th century AD, and was totally gone around the 6th century. So around 1600-1400

  • @AdrianvonZiegler

Your music is also a present!! I love it =D

  • Religion is just another institution of society, stablished before us, that exists for the sole purpose of "guiding" mankind.(do to the fact there needed to be limits to what society accepts as "good" & "bad" of course only the highest in social hierarchy would decide such parameters; always to their convenience)

with determined rols that were deliberately created a functional co-existence amongst people.

Actual society is a lie :)

and the most remarkable thing is that it works.

  • @soberdude84, Good... Evil... I'm the guy with the gun.

  • @ArchArturo

    Is it loaded?

  • @soberdude84, Hail to the King, baby (Army of Darkness references FTW).

  • @soberdude84 And the most incredible thing is that people know it.

  • @soberdude84 But without any religion, there won't be any longer an ordre in that world... ^^

  • @Kozuechan2894

explain... why does man need religion exactly¿

  • @soberdude84 Not because religion is indispensable, our fests, our traditions are all due to religion. Man have alwas believed that there was something on the skies, on earth, water, fire, all that king of stuff. And without this kind of "order" the world would be in a perfect chaos.

  • @Kozuechan2894 very true indeed, most of our background comes from cult and devotion to deities and thats how many civilizations have explained their conception into this thing we call life. But yet what good does it do you if it leaves you suspended in the void of senseless conviction¿ I believe that mankind will trully tracend when it will stop worshipping gods. Otherwise will still be living in the paleolithic period.

  • @soberdude84 Lead the revolution mister Guevara!

  • @soberdude84 Sure but at what cost? Sooner or later the truth is going to hit religion right where it hurts... yep right in the balls. and we'll be there to laugh.

  • @soberdude84 I think the term you are looking for is "church", not "religion".

  • @Zyborg23 i very well know the term im referring to. And to be more specific -monotheism collectivity.

  • @soberdude84 I am just wondering I havn't ead the other comments so far. How is this top rated comment associated to the song?

  • @Sandermatt87

well, as you can tell, its not really that associated with this song, it has trascended.

  • @soberdude84 The interesting thing is that your comment got 22 thumbs up. Way to bash religion without actually bashing religion...you'll see what I mean.

  • @soberdude84 just a thought, if there was no guiding ideology wouldn't mankind have had no opinion on what was good or bad? So if there was nothing to begin that trend, there wouldn't be a "good or bad" all things would have began as accepted. So where would the need for any religion be? Why would there be "parameters" at all? just something to think about..

  • @ChaoticTheOne

First of all, thank you for acknowledging my comment and being participate of it as well; in my humble opinion, I would say: we are capable of becoming completely autonomous beings, we are free to do whatever we please, you will concieve your acts however you like as well as acts of your kin.

You are the absolute measure of all things, but, we are social beings, we must seek a way to fulfill our social needs at the cost of our self proclaimed autonomy.

  • Just watched olympic ice dancing and decided that if i ever end up ice dancing and the orignal dance calls for folk/country dance again, i'm skating to this XD

  • tajemnicze i takie ma być. JEDYNYM SŁOWEM GENIALNE !!!!

  • Does somebody know where i can get a translation into german?

  • ask ur mom

  • soo funny lD ...

  • why is everyone talking about religion?

  • Because this is a religious song of some sort... if Eluveitie's reconstructed Helvetian is anything like Gaulish (which it should be, since they were almos the same language) the title of this song is something like "I prepare for Lugus", Lugus is a Celtic god.

  • because the song talks about an evocation of a deity (or deities I cant remember if it was just one or more)

  • fantastic

  • you also always have to differentiate between the real foundations of religions, that are always well-intentioned and the misinterpretations - there often leading to such harm and cruelties like the inquisition, nowadays terrorism or the abuse of german-pagan-culture by the nazis.

Don't take the holy writings literally ( doesn't matter which religion ) don't let the belief get a tool - let them be advices for life.

  • @GruetzKopf00 If religious texts were meant to be taken literally, religious prophets would not speak in parables.

  • @GruetzKopf00

    well said u.u

  • people need to stop arguing about religion and enjoy the music

  • Why not do both?

  • because the arguing is extremely annoying and pointless. no one here is going to change their religious beliefs based on what some random, anonymous and du-humanized username says.

  • By posting and continuing to argue you are indeed a hypocrite. We are not changing anyone's views just discussing our own in an intelligent manor.

  • I fail to see how my previous statement was argumentative in nature. I was merely responding to your question.

  • then PM each other. I watched this viedo to listen to a great band. not to listen to you gabble incoherently about current fads amongst teenagers.

  • Your silly, you can just not READ the comments. Your making it sound like you have no choice in the matter kid.

  • Christianity is a disease, that was not as bad as the Nazis? Yeah, the christians were the first inventors of the exterminate camps, sent to all pagans to fields of martyrdom in Antioch and other citys of old world. Not to mention Christianity in the West was maked for almost a millennium of cultural and technological recession.

    (Excuse for my English XD)
