  • This game is hard? Battletoads.

  • Do you remember when they would do book reviews on Reading Rainbow? This feels exactly like that.

  • Z, You rocked before but you rock harder dor using a clip from Alien 3!!

  • good god this girls ugly, there is not one attractive thing about her, way too mousey and she has a speech impediment

  • @shawnio Judgemental much? She is just a girl trying to bring the entertainment of games to people who appreciate a good game. Grow up.

  • @Dobbin83 honestly, this girl is a poser. it is extremely obvious.

  • @shawnio dont become a dick. she is here to explain GAMING not the fact if she attractive or not.

  • @pinkylover75 she looks like a hag what are you talking about

  • @shawnio she's certainly not UGLY by any stretch of the Imagination. and you seem to be the only one that hates her that much. just look at her "critiquing the critics" review of her.

  • I beat this game in two days. No walkthrough or save states. Yea it was hard at first but if your an experienced retro gamer it shouldn't be a problem.

  • @philmeister5669

Two days? That's a good feat. But ya wanna know an even greater feat? My mom did a NO DEATH RUN of the game! Startropics is crazy hard, but my mom did it...

  • Irony: I got to this video from a related video of the commercial.

  • I'l sooooo tap that!!!... From behind...

  • my uncles name is steve

  • HAH! Startopics is ten times better then Legend of Zelda!

  • wait a sec.... DR.JONES! there copying Indiana Jones

  • Oh wow, Star Tropics brings back alot of memories..I wonder if she will ever do anything about Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn.

  • It's like Crystalis meets Goonies! Maybe with a touch of Rygar. And the Gyruss code is perfectly acceptable.

  • I'd bang her hahah no seriously she's pretty cute.

  • Happy 20th Anniversary to the StarTropics series!

  • i agree

  • Wow. She is the cutest person I've ever seen. Will you marry me?

    o wo'

  • I always play through a game blind the first time, unless I'm just absolutely stuck and cannot get through it. No hints, tips, tricks, strategy guide, GameFaqs.

Luckily, there's only been a couple of games that I've truly been stuck on.

  • Oh my, Nintendo playin pretty girl.. Me like ;)

  • How could she get that letter when there was no postage stamp!

  • @asaleiri: It was from a dangerous stalker and there is a very good chance that by now she has been kidnapped by satanists.

  • GOD SHE IS SOOOOO FUCKING HOT!!!!!

  • you're such a cutie

  • Awesome game...

  • I don't think Mike's from Seattle or was she faking?

  • i see a copy in related videos

  • I thought I was the only one who played this game!

I remember beating this when I was 4 and acting like hot shit for a week. I recently downloaded it on the virtual console and I suck hard at it. Weird how the younger versions of ourselves can kick our present selves ass in old video games.

  • OMG! A P-WING T-SHIRT! awsome

  • Cool thing about playing this game on the Wii Vitural Console, in the game instruction manual there is a little animation of a piece of paper dropping into a bucket of water and coming out, which brings up the extra message including the 747 code.

  • Rad Video! This game was awesome i remember playin it as a kid and started playin it again recently. I miss the 90s.......

  • or maybe you just suck at games

  • i have a bro that can't beat video games without a walkthrough. sometmies walkthrough of games he does not have!!!

  • You shoulda talked about Star Tropics 2!!!!

  • This is my favorite NES game.

  • Nice vid

lol I remember back then when I got star tropics I played through the game and got to the part that u needed to wet the paper that came with the game. I didnt know that! And back then... not knowing... was a big issue. The only way of getting through games like this was either a friend who knew or that u miraculously owned a magazine with the game walkthrough. After a week or two trying to find someone who passed the game I found a friend that knew.

  • A for effort

  • I remember buying this at a pawn shop back in 1993 for $3. No Internet, no guides, and stuck on that code. Almost took a hammer to that game....but the baseball bat was closer :D

  • lmg that is light machine gun

  • ALF KICKS ASS! =D

  • I never had the booklet 8(

  • She's a pretty cute nerd :3

  • yeaa she is really cute and charming, to bad iam married already,

  • yup

  • @Gretgor666 Oh Yeah !

  • either im drunk as hell or them letters moved on that letter she held

  • hear her do a misty impression

  • @SupremeDominator

Everytime she talks it sounds like a Misty impression.

  • I found and sent the commercial to her.

  • where can we find this commercial

  • @Anbercrombie

Now available at gameads gamepressure com, go look it up.

  • @1983parrothead

    Holy son of a bitch.

    Upload this fucking shit bitch!

  • @1983parrothead

Nice, i looked for at least 3 weeks or so, where did you find it??

  • wow drpanda, real mature

    get a freakin' life lozer

    on topic:

    nice video lindsey

  • psh hellz yeah this game was hard as hell i beat but it took a long time and you did need that box with the letter it was to get passed world 6 ot 7 i think but this game is no joke for a nintendo game it had alot of secrets just to beat it and yeah good game but freaking hard its sorta like ninja gaiden the stages are hard as hell but the bosses kinda semi easy ya know the old nintendo games are the hardest.

  • I talking about beginning, not the middle.

  • That part with the water, that message was definetley typed, not a secret message

  • That was a clever way to show off the letters true contents, while still keeping it intact.

  • funny how she says a yo yo as a weapon cuz it was a weapon back in the day do not believe me look it up

  • or if u dont have the paper go on u tube and somebody will tell see u told use so why dio we need the paper u told us :)

  • good stuff

  • I would love to build a time-machine, and put up posters everywhere that say "Don't Throw Out That Book 'n' Box!" and explain how kids will need them some day.

  • i bet if angry nerd reviewed this game hed curse and show you all the flaws

  • Because that's all he ever does.

If you must know, the biggest flaws are that Mike doesn't walk diagonally, and, the bosses are disappointingly easy.

Anyway, its one of the greatest games ever. I have one of the games song's as a ringtone :)

  • love the game startropics, and a nice review.

i was thinking about reviewing this game also, but i looked it up and saw everyone was doing it, so i decided fuck it. I might do Zelda II

  • I bought it used i don't have that.

  • erm....

im used to watch calssic game room...

its like the biggest contrast ever lol...

cool game played it back in the days as well...

so, i need some classic game room now ;P

  • ahhh your cute :)))

  • I remember the commercial and I felt the same way about it making me want to play it. It was epic and then the game was not so epic

  • Most games of that age were repetitive. I had this game myself and absolutely loved it. Even though it mocked me at times...

  • 2 things

1- I kwon what is an evil alien, i not an idiot

2- Save your uncle is just good, it isn't cool just good, if you are playing with a male character and you have to save your girlfrien or a princess thats cool, but saving a familiar is just good, not cool

  • So, your a person that values a stranger more then a family member

If Mario had to save Luigi, thats cool, he's saving his brother, some one he knew all his life.

He's not just saving some blond bimbo like peach who got her self captured because her castle sercurity sucks.

  • Hard game, but really fun.

  • SERIOUSLY?! I think it's one of the best on the NES. No lie.

  • i think it was repetitive.

  • But isn't all music on the NES repetitive? I lied though... Journey To Silius has the best music on the system.

  • well yeah, but this one was REALLY repetitive.

  • Everything about Star Tropics is AMAZING!!! I just bought both games on my Wii and I've been playing the first one for about 4 hours straight!

  • I think at some point you should review one of the Zelda Games.I don't care which one, just pick your favorite.

  • This game comes way too close to being shitty.

  • This game had one of the best endings i'd ever seen for a NES game.

  • that was very educational..

    and..

    unique..

    spiffy o.o

  • what does spiffy mean i never knew?

  • it's like spectacular, but not so dramatic. :D one step down lets say.

  • I rented this game back in the 90s. When we got to the part with the letter, we were of course out of luck. We spent half an hour going through the numbers, starting from 001. Then we got the bright idea to call all the video stores in the area. The fourth one told us the code. We got the idea it wasn't the first time someone called about it. Great game.

  • Z is super hot! :-)

  • funny how you were humming the star tropics theme in the beginning

  • Well, the heart life meter is very common.

  • she's adorable! and her review is great.

i loooooved this game. it was hard though, and took me ages and ages to beat. i actually downloaded it on vc, and can't beat the alien ship level now.

  • I had this game when it first came out in 1990 and I loved it! But sadly I lost the letter for the game before I knew that I needed it so I never got the chance to beat the game. I'll tell you what I got really good at playing the first half of the game. Anyoo now 19 years later I downloaded the game to my wii and am happily kicking alein ass. I also somewhat remember the star tropics commercial. Like "WHOA! You even get swallowed by a whale!"

  • what about the letter. i think i'm going to download startropics from vc.

  • this is the first review I saw little miss gamer make, and it was really impressive, especially the intro! Keep up the good work!

  • I'de hit that.

  • DOOF

  • I loved the opening with the letter that was great. Nice review.

  • cute

  • Cute.

  • this is what happens when someone posts something on 4chans /v/. obvious /v/irgin miyuk .

  • the word "gamer" is fucking CANCEROUS.

  • Hey Pete, games were $60 in the 80s. What do you mean with today's prices? You can get alot of Wii games for $20-$30.. and they just came out ya jack hole.

  • most $20 wii games are junk though

  • Still $60 is not like some new outrageous price, its been the standard for current gen consoles forever.

  • Now, for some reason I want to know how old she is o.o

  • Will you marry me? haha Awesome review :D

  • wish more girls looked like her, the world would be a much better place

  • well, it's made by Nintendo, so it's not exactly a rip-off, it's more recicled, still, the core of the gameplay is completely different!!!!!!!!

  • Funny how every island had a cola theme. Maybe why i am addicted to soda today. Damn subliminal messages.

  • I still have my box and letter. :-)

    Great review!

  • The very first time i saw her - i couldn't figure out why she was being so sweety pie and sugary . . . but then i "got it"

She's the anti-angry video game nerd lol

  • how cute ^^ I just love the way she speaks...

  • what is the code in the submarine in act 4 on startropics?

  • damn it! A yoyo is a weapon! It was origionally a hunting weapon and only later was turned into a toy! Facts are you friend.

  • Acutally a yoyo is nothing but a toy from 500 BC. in ancient China.

It's suposedly WAS a weapon for only 300/400 years,in a period wich goes from 1400 AC. to 1800 AC.

Just like the wheel this is unclear cause there is no evidence that it was made for adults in the first place, maybe it was, maybe not.

You know the early evidence of wheels comes fom wheeled toys.

That says a lot about our humble beginings and how much we could learn if there was no war uh?

  • Y'know, sales in Seattle were rather high seeing as the main character was from Seattle. The problem, nobody liked it. it was long. I grew up in that area in a town called Poulsbo. One of my friends actually placed it under his mom's car and she shattered it. She was not happy.

  • This was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Makes me want to go finish the sequel again.

  • Hard?! Ha! It's old territory to me. Once I get in the zone, it's smooth sailing, baby.

...Though, it's been a long time since I played it, so I hope I haven't gotten too rusty.

I was lucky enough to get the game new, complete with the letter! But....it was ruined from overuse. I was a little rough on my things as a kid.

But at least you're afforded a hearty laugh when you stick it to the aliens in the end...as well as acheive something very important...

  • your a sexist prick

  • don't like don't watch as i was always told say somthing nice or don't say anything at all .

  • oh that's a horrible thing to comment. Little Miss Gamer doesn't deserve this. She's a fine presenter and her videos are enjoyable. Please don't accuse her of being bad just because YOU don't like them.

  • I want to see the commercial. I grew up with this game and never knew there was a commercial. Until recently.

  • A friend of mine had a dog-eared copy of Nintendo Power, with a reader mail response that said that Mike from StarTropics would go as far as Kirby and Link, and he's been waiting for a new generation sequel to StarTropics for almost two decades, now. He'd probably settle for a Smash Bros. trophy, but Japan never got StarTropics, so they don't know it exists!

Did you ever play StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge? It came out after the NES was dead, and the commercial had the new type NES in it!

  • if the nes was dead, why was the game RELEASED FOR IT? it died completely in 1995.

  • Spam? I'm just trying to gather people for a common interest. Is that so wrong?

  • no that's not wrong i say its the best thing to do

  • I think I'm in love. :-)

  • You are just soooo cute ^^ the soft voice, timid expressions, paired with one of my favorite games. so cute :)

  • you should review conker`s bad fur day

  • Little Miss Gamer = LMG

    LMG = Light Machine Gun

    BWAHAHAHA!

    That didn't make sense :D

  • Like your show, I kinda growned at the gender roles comment, but that's because I went to Evergreen State College and had that stuff SHOVED down my throat. But yeah Star Tropics. AOK :)

  • WTF are you talking about, she's rather cute!

  • First review I have seen of yours and they are very well done. I also love your name "Little Miss Gamer" it reminds me of the Mr. & Miss. books I read as a child. I recently got the original Star Tropics game for the NES and played the beginning it is very fun.

  • your reviews are the epitome of awesome

  • I have everything still, box and instruction manual, but I somehow lost the note. I even remember seeing once, but luckily someone told me what the code was and I'm glad I remembered it all these years.

  • little miss gamer can i be you first stalker lol

  • oh REAL nice idiot

  • Nice video. I've never played the game myself, though I've heard stories of it.

    Again, nice video.

  • Just b/c it has LoZ elements wouldn't be enough to deter me from it. In fact I love most of the zelda games so it would onl incourage me.

In fact it is on Virtual Consal right now on Wii. Just dish out the 500 points = 5 bucks to try it.....AT LEAST THIS GUY CAN JUMP XD.

  • Some elements remind me of LoZ

  • lol i have an uncle steve :D

  • Really loving the anonymity of the internet aren't you?

  • How dare you show such disrespect towards someone such as her. Seriously sir, do you not have anything better to do than show how much of a pig you are?! I had the honor of meeting her at a gamer's convention and she is a very sweet person. I believe you owe her an apology.

  • omg you're so abrasive...she's a quality reviewer and you have no right to spew such filth!

  • Nintendo was kind enough to inclued "The Letter" within the virtual manual in the Wii Virtual console version of this game

  • actually a yo-yo is a weapon...

  • It's not, really. It's impractical, since when you throw a yo-yo, the fastest it moves is near the beginning of the throw. It slows down at the end of the thread. You'd be better off taking it off the string and throwing it.

  • you´re right, I saw it on wikipedia, it was a myth.

  • or mabye he is useing it like a whip
