  • dick wagner is THE best rocknroll lead guitar player on the planet, period! thanks for posting this!

  • dick wagner and frost gave us great music and memories and still making new ones. I seen Frost all around the detroit area back in the day. still have my original Frost albums bought new on issue and still give them an occasional spin for old time sake.... even though the cd's get most of the play now.

  • @dempsey - you were lead guitar for 8 1/2 x 11 or Shirt Tail Relations? If it's STR, am I getting the name correct?

  • @Dannywright actually dave [the blind singer] played in a band called Elisha, and we played alot of the coral gables circuit, and everywhere else.i was the guitar player in that band.we had 2 guitar players actually.dave was quite good,we stayed pretty busy.

  • Wow. Your "The Mystery Man". Man are you Blessed. Still anointing the songs with your gifts .Thanks Dick, for all the years of great memorys and musical genious you have shared with us .God Bless .Gary GmanSillato . Ursa Major lives .

  • stingray - just to follow up ...

They were among the coolest clubs we played. Go-go dancers in cages at the side of the stage, good sound system, nice liquid lights. We didn't make a lot of money but those clubs made us feel that we were in the big time. Can't recall the names of the places we either opened for or saw The Frost. I want to say there was a big teen dance at an armory in Dowagiac MI. Another MI band was there - The Shirttail Relations. They had a blind singer and they were good

  • @Dannywright i was lead guitar with that singer, dave was his name.tall thin guy.he was very good

  • stingray - The Frost WERE great. Back in the day, they were one of the top Michigan bands during the whole Detroit music explosion. We weren't crazy about playing with them because they blew us away. All 3 of the GF guys were in the pack w Terry Knight. He stopped singing w them and said if they listened to him, they would be stars. He was right. Hullabaloo clubs were franchised off the TV music show of the same name from 60's and

70's. I think you can find video from the show on YouTube.

  • stingray - No one will EVER remember our band. The name seemed cool at the time:

8 1/2 x 11. We opened a few times for the Frost, The Pack (right before they turned into Grand Funk), The Shirttail Relations, Plain Brown Wrapper, The Troll (from Chicago), Bob Seger & the Last Herd and a few others. Never made it to the Grande but I was lucky enough to see the MC5 a few times and they are still my favorite rock band of all time. We played a string of Hullabaloo Clubs -remember them?

  • Wow that's amazing! I've only heard The Frost a few times but they were great right!? Yeah Terry Knight became Grand Funks manager I believe. Were all the Grand Funk dudes in the Pack?? Wow you saw the MC5 several times!! I'm way too young to have seen the good stuff you saw, I was born in the mid 60's. What were the Hullabaloo Clubs??

  • My band opened for the Frost in some Michigan shows all those years ago. We thought we were hot stuff but not as good as them. Sorry to hear Dick has had some health issues but seems like he can still bring it. Thanks for posting this -

  • What was your band ?? I'm from Detroit area too! Yeah someone please post orginal clip of the FROST doing "rock n roll music"!!!

  • I've played in that studio...(Saginaw) DWM... Dick just survived a heart attack... (Triple By-pass) He's a good friend....

  • response to Vandebilt....Is Alice Cooper at the L.A. Forum 1975 available? The live 1977 Alice Cooper Show album( with the exception of a superb version of "Eighteen" ) sounds like the band was in a mad rush to get finished.

  • ACS, far and away the best version of "Eighteen". The guitar work on the whole album is incredible. You are right there are some shortened versions of songs but I like the way they were put together in a medley. Best version of "The Black Widow" too IMO.

  • It is now available on WolfgangsVault

  • Dick Frost- doesn't someone have a film of the frost???Please please please post it.

  • it's Dick Wagner.. Dick gets Pissed when someone calls him Dick Frost.. Type in Dick Wagner and you'll see some Frost Stuff....

  • All Apologies!! my mistake, believe me I know he's Dick Wagner- We used to go see the Frost every chance we got at the Paladium outside of Detroit and the Festivals as well - Absolutely our favorite local band at the time-- I wish him well, he's a class act.

  • Mr. Wagner and Mr.Hunter the two very best. The Alice Cooper Show is perhaps the greatest live recording ever.

  • No, it's not, but Rock'n'Roll Animal and Lou Reed Live are! (Alice Cooper L.A. Forum 1975 with Dick & Steve is great)

  • I own them all, I personally like the Alice Cooper tunes alot more.IMO Lou Reed's vocals suck.

  • Legendary guitarist!! does'nt somebody have something more of him -- with the frost would be such a treat!!!

  • Does anyone have ANYTHING, from FROST MUSIC days?

Loved this, Glad I found it under a search for Dick Wagner

  • try ebay

  • A '68 Les Paul...Great sound...great player
