@LAKB224 He was great pretty much all of his NBA career untill the last 2 seasons. He's dealed with injuries almost his whole NBA career (and still easily got 29-32ppg) but those last 2 seasons, he couldn't beat the injury. This season though he had a pretty good amount of 20ppg+ games.

Losing Artest for Ariza is bit of a downgrade though but not that devastating. I like the current team. They have an inside game with Yao, outside shooting with Martin, and a speed monster in Brooks. Houston will be competitive as long as Yao and Martin can stay healthy.

The guy is an excellent defender...and also like Jordan, no player as ever scored 40+ playing against a McGrady team. Iverson scored 48 against Kobe.....

He cant give 100%, do you know how long he has been playing for the Rockets injured? Last year he finally got surgery, and should be back to 100% after the injury and after getting back in shape. People forget how good he was back in Orlando and his first year in Houston when he REALLY was 100%.

Are you kidding? Go look at the stats again. Tracy McGrady already has 744 blocks in his career. He's second as a shooting guard only to Jordan all-time in that field. Kobe's played 971 games and has 1491 steals and 551 blocks. Mac has played 785 games and has 1039 steals and 744 blocks. i think you're getting caught up in perception. The guy is an excellent defender...and also like Jordan, no player as ever scored 40+ playing against a McGrady team. Iverson scored 48 against Kobe.....

Jordan is obviously the greatest defender of the players mentioned (greatest everything by the way) but the stats are just to illustrate that McGrady's defense is comparable to the players you listed. Those players have defensive flaws as much as McGrady. Never said Mac should win defensive player of the year. Just don't think you should throw him under the bus when actually he IS (was) a competent defender. And Artest only played one season with the man...his LAST season. cut him some slack

Tracy when he first came out in toronto and orlando was a good player stopper. But he has kinda moved away from it. I remember when all around not scoring but all around he was better then Kobe. When he got to houston he started to slack off

I don't think he was trying to say anything offensive here. Artest was just listing out his reasons to how the team can improve. You can improve until you understand the flaws/weaknesses of your team. I know Artest can be an ass sometimes but I don't think he was trying to be one here.

He cant give 100%, do you know how long he has been playing for the Rockets injured? Last year he finally got surgery, and should be back to 100% after the injury and after getting back in shape. People forget how good he was back in Orlando and his first year in Houston when he REALLY was 100%.

T Mac carer is almost over. His injuries are to bad for a guy like him. He was goood but right now he will not return as the t mac we use to know. Besides hes contract ends this season i dont think a team will risk 20 million dolars por years to see a player get injured again.
