Has to be said though, he's not a good teacher. I don't think he actually teaches anything in this whole video. He just plays something then moves on and talks about his influences. Great player, but pointless video.

Not necessarily. You have to know where he's coming from, and follow the lines he's giving you.

This is the kind of "Lesson" more advanced musicians can benefit from, as opposed to walking you through everything. This is kinda teaching where his MUSIC comes from, rather than his TECHNIQUE.

I read an interview with him. I writes the guitar parts as though it would be written for the violin, that why his playing is so intricate. Joe Satriani once said " I wish i could play like that". Thats one hell of a compliment.

@shittyfuck LOL The pickups are the rectangular/ovalish Electronics under the strings that "Pickup" the sound, I think you're asking about his guitar pick which is between his thumb and index finger.
