This was done so that he could clear the barrel of a round and the soldier could not point and fire, and would see, and respect who he was killing and not just some shooting game. Shortly after, you cannot entirely see him do it, but he places the mag back in the rifle at 0:28. Thus meaning, it's still realistic.

He removed it initially so that he could unload the chamber, rendering incapable of firing before being re chambered, but with a loaded magazine in the magazine well so that it could still be brought back into the fight quickly (by just pulling and releasing the charging handle).

But great britain was being slowly starved by the U-boats and the Stuka dive bombers, with their backs against the wall, Salvation came in the form of the US-built Liberty Ships. And it is difficult to imagine an invasion without over 70,000 americans taking Omaha and Utah beaches at Normandy

I think we did a pretty good job of winning on TWO FRONTS, but, that was back when Great Military Minds (on all sides) had a little more control over things military, and politicians didn't meddle as much. I will concede, Vietnam was all wrong from the very beginning, but that was a political war and not a war of Freedom and Freedom from opression, little more delicate situation. But that's just my opinion mixed with a few facts.

@CapitanoGUC Nah 'cause you guys didn't win every battle like the US did in the Vietnam war, because the Russians would just throw troops at you until they won the battle. We inflicted more casualties and took more territory, the latter of which you failed to do in WWII. For example, look how the Battle of Stalingrad turned out for Germany and then look at the Hill Battles and the Tet Offensive of the Vietnam war. Plus Vietnam wasnt a conventional war like WW2. You won by attrition.

@bbruner79 Yeah, within a short time of taking off we were alerted and spitfires among others where sent to intercept. how can they reach our airfields way up north and beyond london with all those interceptions and ground defenses?=could'nt do it. Theyre navy couldnt do much with all the mines and our own beach artillery and navy in the channel. remember britain is only a few short miles from france yeah it was tough and we took a beating but we still diidnt lose. dambusters too.
