  • that radio has alot of bass and sounds very good when working. i think all the 123's had hard wired mics. its a common radio to find in the dollar box

  • @fordbroncodave It wasn't even in the dollar box it was in the trash box . I git it up and running and get good reports on it! Thanks for your reply. Keep watching for more videos from me!

  • Got to love those trash finds. See if the protection diode is blown/open. 73's Paul

  • @262NagantRadios Yup that was it! It is now up and running! needed a few capacitors replaced also

  • @KC8YOQ Glad to hear it didn't need much repair to be up and running again. A lot of the Johnson radios used hard wired in microphones. They eventually quit that in later radios but some of the later radios had mic jacks in the back instead of the side or front. They sure had some odd ideas for mic setups for many of their radios.

  • @262NagantRadios Strange arraignment for mics BUT it seemed to work! I also found a Cheetah SSB in the boxes and that is next!

  • maybe a couple broke up and the girl friend threw away the boy friends stuff in the trash.

  • @cmritchie04 Well I thing that it was from company that went out. There was three boxes of old gear out at the curb!

  • Good find, they were a solid built radio and should be easy to repair, good layout.
