  • i'm thirsty

  • This goes on replay, again and aagain and again aaaaaaaannnndddd for ever

  • THIS IS A JAM

  • This is '78?? Wow.....sounds like 1983 or something.

  • Hey Steve Green hope you get this....I'm the bartender from Philly(many moons ago...1989 ) that everyone called white girl. Recognized you the moment you asked for a drink. You were blown out that a white chick not only had the album but knew who the hell you were. If you perform in ATL drop me a line..cielopezzo@yahoo.com

  • Omgg this music makes me even feel better than when i fucking a girl, seriously.. TOP MUSIC!

  • love this song, Breakwater one of the best groups to come out of Philly

  • Just saw them live last tonight. They were awesome...

  • @OlSkoolMusiQueen I'd love to see this live. their jams are so good

  • 1978? before its time hAD a 80's sound b4 the 80's unsung funk

  • I know this whole album. one of the best collections of jams in the history of music. Been singin this stuff in my head for thirty years

  • This was my jam!!

  • why can I see my LP here on youtube.....

  • haha i used to skip back to that keyboard solo like 20 times when i was a kid

  • To this day, I have no idea why I bought this album. I know I loved it once I got it home though.

  • That's what happens when you drink with facial palsy.

  • best album ever, no sign of innuendo whatsoever lol

  • Good Groove

  • Pure MAGIC!

  • Stuff like this don't get old! Unfortunately, it has gotten RARE!

  • This is definitely such a Philly song. I was crazy about this song. I don't know the last time I heard it. I got it on a raggedy cassette somewhere back when I used to tape songs from the radio, and hope the announcer is quiet until the record is over. LOL @ myself!

  • Awesome, got this one on tape from the 'Robbie Vincent show' on Radio London, back in the day.

  • sublime

  • That's a ill album cover

  • i love this song..THUMBS UP IF U LIKE IT 2 !!!

  • Thanks for this tune. It's been 30 years

  • I saw them last weekend at the West Oak Lane Jazz festival...Brought back a lot of great memories..But the real sad thing is that right now "Breakwater" is the best funk band in the city....After 30 years you would think some young cats would claom that title..too much sampled I bet...

  • sweet guitar playing.

  • Thank God I can put tall of these Breakwater songs on a playlist. Was that album cover crazy or what! Remnicent of those times.

  • Wow! I This is simply awesome! I love Breakwater, I had forgotten how sexy the album cover is. I just called in my sweetie to check it out. I converted the cassette tape to a CD. I always wondered why they never made it big? Anyway thank you!

  • wwow..this takes me way back...philly music was awesome...thanks so much for bringing back so many good memories....brook...75

  • gotta be the best funk/soul band never to make it big..... "Work it out" is still my favourite though. bought it on 12" ( back in the day ) one of the few that never gets put away.

  • LOVE THIS

  • Great song i need to get one lp of them :D

  • @batutinha321 I got it, right here... :-)

  • REAL MUSIC!!!! PHILLY!!!

  • this is a great track....still worthy of airplay to this day!!

  • @hevyonez97 definitely!!

  • So sad they never made it that big...thankfully I heard of them through Daft Punk, otherwise I would have probably never found them!

  • Gotta respect sample artists too. Some debate that sample artists have no creative ability. But without the method and style of sampling being developed in Hip Hop there wouldn't be as many younger people getting into and having a divine respect for this kind of music.

  • @linkmasta114 I guess you wouldn't never find these type of groups if you never come out that square box you been living in right? thank god for the internet these days son all you've to do is type in the word...70's-80's classic Funk and hey you're there don't be an idiot all your life...omg

  • @187bdawg

    Homophobe much?

  • @187bdawg Youre wack.

  • very ahead of it's time, seems it doesn't belong to 1978, I can tell 1981-82. we can call it the very first 80s groove ever recorded in funk/soul history!

  • I agree, very 70s-80s! Especially that bass line.

  • Like this track, but for those who may not know i think ''Work It Out'' is their best track by far, enjoy guys... DJ :-)

  • If any one would like to buy the LP... hehehehe, it would be here in Switzerland..... but I don't sell it.... I not am stupid.... nononono..... es mucho bueno....hahahahahaha

  • Never sell it, man! There would be NO LIMIT to your regret if you did! :D

  • uhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my jam ;)

  • のおおおお~ リミッツ!

  • Sophisticated disco-funk! I like this high production groove :D

  • whos sampled this?

  • Greetings! I saw this marvelous band at either the University of Connecticut or Eastern Connecticut State homecoming. They straight 'threw down'!

  • R.I.P. Kae Williams Jnr.. This is the first 80s groove sound from late 70`s which is unusual. Futuristic jam.

  • Just bought the cd in Japan. Great album !!!

  • it s a big funk dance!!!krim

  • I live in Phoenix AZ, if I request do it till the fluid get hot. They look at me like i'm crazy. I guess Pensacola was'nt so slow after all.

  • Reminds me of training at Frazier's gym in North Philly with heavyweight, Jimmy Young. Who loved Breakwater! RIP Jimmy! He really loved this song, and "You Know I Love You"

  • This band is great tryed for years to get hold of it. Friend of mine got in london many years ago,he moved to fance hav'nt herd it since.

  • At the school on the hill, aka Overbrook, we jammed to Breakwater. Long live the hilltop.

  • thanks so much for this post-- breakwater fan from philly at overbrook hs

  • They truly are missed. These guy's inspired me to play the drums in a band; hence, my becoming one of Philly's top notch drummers as late as today.

  • One of the most unknown and underrated soul bands ever....unfortunately they came and went in a flash of a couple of years.

  • i love it i can't stop dancing

  • Great post! Reminds me to look for the CD. I think Jamiroquai listened to this awesome underrated band.

  • THANK YOU FOR THE POST.

This group was Philly's best kept secret!!!!!

  • This group was a sleeper. I think the boys from EWF (earth wind fire) produced them. But this album is solid rythm, funkified soul and liquid lyrics....the whole damn thing is tight.

  • géniale!!!! MYFUNKY BEATTTT!!!!
