According to an interview from the developers, some of the choices that you make can lead to the Normandy being destroyed and Shepard dying. In order to change it, you would have to replay about half the game.

I've played the two games before, stupid that I was to play fallout 3 I suddenly thought to myself hmmmmm haven't I played this game before? OBLIVION maybe! after all same game just with guns, booooooooooring! I never did like fallout 3 anyway, hopefully mass effect 2 will build upon its successful predecessor...can't wait!

Don't Get Me Wrong, I loved Mass Effect ON MY FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. It was fun to go through it again once or twice. But I soon got bored of it. I'm going to start playing it again though, and see if I'll enjoy it again. I was a Level 37 Adept when I finished though. Now, I'll probably get a lot of hate messages for this, but I really don't think that this game can hold up to games like Fallout 3. I just don't.

Just a note Bioware was not the actual Developer of KOTOR 2 which honestly showed from the get go.

You also left out Baldur's gate from Bioware but Bioware wins hands down.

Bethesda goes all out and adds lots of detail into the game world (yarn from Morrowing and Oblivion anyone) but their physics, stories and overall universes tend to pale compared to the Universe scope that Bioware makes.

It's hard to pick, since they both developed my fave games. The Elder Scroll games are massive, and I've watched a walkthru for Call of Cthulhu, which is cool. But I'd have to go w/Bioware, b/c I love the way they tell their stories. Mass Effect, Kotor (1 and 2) and Jade Empire have great plots w/lots of twists.

No it does not, and whatever happens in this game is determined by what happened at the end of the last game YOU choose to do (good or bad or neutral all possible). Everything will be different for each player if they continue with the same character.

Personally, i will start a new character so my story is unbiased

One of the great things of ME2 following your unique game of ME1 is that your choices from ME1 really effect ME2. So if certain characters died in ME1, they won't be present in ME2.

I love that my hard work with building my character in ME1 pays off with ME2.

well yea i worked hard on my character to but if he died then that would totaly ruin the second game cause if he dies the ethier way you start bias. plus the would have to show you how he died because at the end of the second one you held the geth and reapers off. so that really doesnt explain anything...

That's the thing, no matter what you can't start the game unbiased. You either play by the choices you made or you have the developer dictate what choices were made. Personally I much rather know and experience the game based on what I did in ME1.

Actually, i have this theory.

You know in the teaser trailer, it shows a Geth with that N7 armor right? At first you think it Shepard, but it turns out be to the Geth.

Okay, so here, Shepard DOES die, but then later on he gets fused with the Geth somehow, but he retains his personality and what not. Like his Biotic powers, or his skills or whatever. But at the same time, have Geth like abilities or something along those lines.

But i dunno, that would be cool if that happened.
