  • Hi! I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on my current workout routine? I do the treadmill 5 days a week for an hour. For the first 30 minutes I jog (slowly trying to build up my speed), and for the next 30 minutes I do a mix of walking and sprinting, and walking and jogging on a varying incline. My goal is fat loss!

    Please please please reply :)

    Thanks!

  • Oh hello! Have you ever tried - fast abs magic (google it)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my BF got detailed 6 pack abs and lost a lot of belly fat with it.

  • Thanks for video, I got inspired by videos like this, check out what experts on fox says about this over weight problem /watch?v=9QpzdK7wdYY Let's fight our problems together, thumbs up that other peoples could see this comment! :Let's don't waste our time, we need to fight back our weight!

  • For how long do you do your interval training? How many minutes and what routine?

  • Thanks for your opinion...

  • Is there any documented research that shows adding up overall time leads to longer EPOC? I worry about overtraining.

  • So do you sprint then Jog? Or Sprint then walk?

  • @zachjewell92 Depends on your fitness level. If you're just beginning to get into shape, walking might be more appropriate for you than jogging would be. During your recovery phase, you should choose an intensity that keeps your heart rate up, but that you could keep on doing for a longer period of time (20-30 minutes or more).

  • that's where i want to be

NOT skinny but lean like he is, it's not all about muscle

  • BTW this is totally true, the more it hurts the better your body is working

  • Eeek his body is so veiny

  • Does recovery mean slow jog or complete stop?

  • @iBrendaaah His intentions are very good. However as a master body mechanic for years it was not as straightfoward and simple as it could be. If your goals are to lose fat then it should be a walk in the area of 3mph hour (treadmill) followed by whatever your designated high intensity(ex.6mph) for sets of 5 and more as u progress. Losing fat through interval training is the BEST way but not through this running unless you are a seasoned athelete. Recovery means slower walking not a stop..

  • @iBrendaaah "Recovery" means that you continue the same cardiovascular exercise at a lower intensity (an intensity at which you could continue for a long period of time). Depending on your personal fitness level that can mean a slow jog a steady 7,5 mph run or even a brisk walk, but never a complete stop.

  • @EnterJustice Thank you so much!

  • @iBrendaaah slow jog, never stop.! it gets hard to run again, just go slow then fast then slow and fast

  • someone please answer this, with interval training does it increase VO2 Max, and cardiovascular endurance etc?

  • @hunkyjelly yes but can increase them more by targeting them individually

  • @hunkyjelly yes. With 5 weeks of tabata sprints (on a field, not treadmill) my V02 max increased dramatically from poor to excellent

  • Both long duration cardio and interval training will help you lose fat if you're eating to lose fat, doesn't really matter which one you do.

NOTHING you do is going to give instant results and NOTHING you do will prevent you from having excess body fat if you like a slob.

  • @Mattypphillip HIT is more than 10x more effective than slow cardio and takes less time. This is confirmed by medical studies.

  • What Yuri didn't mention is the key to Interval Training is the protein Myoglobin fueling muscle in lieu of carbohydrates and lactic acid which block fat burning. Many have experimented with different time protocols. Many ask me how my members make such rapid progress. I use so many variables, ones from my many years of experience to know what works quicker with different people in a group. I calculate a person's biochemistry and neurophysiology as well as the group dynamics and psychology.

  • Hey my frined...can you answer me? : I'm doing next thing:10 sit ups,100m sprint, renedage row 5 times per hand,100m sprint,15 push ups,100m sprint ..5 min without pause.thant rest 1 minute than repeat all in 5min (i can do all 2 times in 5 minutes,so i do all 4 times in 10 minutes). IS that OK? P.S. I can't even talk after that training.Thank you.

  • I just started attempting to do interval training (used to do 30 minutes of jogging before) and I´m not very sure if I´m doing the timing and duration correctly. I do light jogging for a minute, then jog for two minutes, and sprint to near exhaustion for a minute after that. I repeat the cycle 6 times before leaving the gym. And I have to use an eliptical trainer instead of a treadmill because of my knees; just wondering if it makes a big difference or not.

  • What are your intervals Yuri?

  • Did my Hiit today as a beginner I did 3:3 for about an hour . Some periods I rest longer than I should. Not bad for a big guy I guess

  • i need some help-.- does interval training burn muscle aswell as fat?

  • @xLiggz The only way running will burn muscle is when you run marathons and run 10k every day but besides that your muscle is ok hope that helped

  • Hello I have problem I cant get the rest of my house to start eating better and i have no control over the food in the house how can i convince the rest of my house to go from nuthing form meat and potatoes to vegys and greens with the ocashanal meat and potatoes.

  • @NateD6547 please check out my walmart geared whole foods and fitness channel

  • i love intervall training but i always get overtrained, cant help it:( i already had sucess with it, but i have to take breaks between to recover from different kind of pain

  • Hi Yuri, appreciate your work ! my objective is to lose fat and increase endurance. I jog 2-3 times a week, with the initial 20minutes on interval where I run up a steep hill as fast as I can and recovered to bottom. However, I can't seems to get pass 7km. My body end up feeling too tired to go beyond 7km. So my question is how can I then improve my endurance to handle half marathon, given my current trianing regime.....

  • how about 20 mins at high intensity? as in the fastest i could run for 20 mins straight, would that be good also?

  • @hjbear0303 I doubt that you could SUPER SPRINT for 20 minutes straight...

  • hey yuri great video! how about the incline levels? should those change as well? thanks! :)

  • but i thought you said in a previous video that shorter intervals are better?? (specifically, you quoted a study where the participants did 6 seconds intense work, 9 seconds recovery)... now you're saying minute-long intervals?

  • @aIIoutboy i think this video is more about the fat loss, the short intervals are probably more sports oriented like tennis and football. Cause they ask short prints.

  • @aIIoutboy - yes,shivex is correct :

fat loss = longer intervals to burn calories and to continue to burn calories for hours after the workout.

Sports = shorter intervals to train the body for quick bursts of speed that are required during sports like football.

  • great Yuri! thanks

  • how many times a week would you recommend this if your goal is to lose weight, not necessarily train for a sport?

  • a great workout would be Insanity plyometric cardio circuit 45 min or so =)

  • Question please ... is it better to apply this on a treadmill or running outside? I'm not a big fan of treadmills, I'd rather run say around the lake for exp, but if it is more effective on a treadmill, I'll prob have to switch
